A better question to ask other than what the inevitable overpriced car pack with one track will be is…
Is the core game polished and playable enough to support an expansion pack?
I think not. I’m not giving turn10 another dollar to fund this unfinished game until it has been properly debugged and patched. Seriously we have glitches and bugs in the game that have been around since Forza 4 (crashing lobbies, memory leaks, hit and miss game chat, etc.) that have either been ignored or unsuccessfully repaired. Yet we still pay $60 or more per year to the same company and changes are minimal or unwelcome.
No more preorders, no more season passes, no more blind faith from me. And especially no more DLC purchases until real progress has been made.
Do to having all those SUV’s i am guessing we will get an expension that includes caravans, over here in europe a lot of suv’s are used to tow caravans due to their size and engine power so why not? And maybe even the racing truck is getting a trailer! That would be hilarious in online multiplayer and open up a whole new range of games and wacky races
Honestly i havent got a clue what the 2 expensions will be, all the previous one are allready in F7… we will find out eventually
They recently announced a partnership with IMSA but don’t get too excited about it, we might have an expansion but full grid and all tracks? You might get like 2 or 3 cars per category and 1 new track, pretty much like the nascar expansion did in FM6 and they’ll charge 20$ for it.
Yeah I’m thinking that this “partnership” involves more stuff along the lines of FM7 booths at IMSA races, maybe a cool livery here or there (like that Aston Martin livery that was hinted at before Xmas), maybe League/Rival events that kind of reflect what’s going on in IMSA at the time.
That would be incredible, but I’d like to take it a step further and have it include not only the current roster, but older stuff, too. Wonder which one’s the more realistic choice?
That being said, the way things have been going so far, I have my doubts.
…but would make for a really great super cool marketing opportunity with a really great super cool automotive “lifestyle” brand.
What I’d love to have:
A) Point-to-point with dirt and tarmac stages, possibly mimicking Monte Carlo or an expanded version of Fujimi Kaido
What would make sense to have based on existing content:
B) Rallycross and Stadium Super Truck tracks
What we’d probably get:
C) Something completely unrelated to all the offroad vehicles we already have (Though I’d much prefer anything else over a cruddy rallycross circuit)
Just a point, I am not sure if we are going to get expansions or they would have been mentioned in the ultimate edition as it was for fh3, also the amount of people moaning and groaning about the games issues (of which there are a few and they increase with every update ) they probably feel that might be asking just a bit too much, but who knows with t10 and how much more money they want to extort from gamers.
Toyota have removed production car licences from every racing game. NFS no longer has Toyota, Forza no longer has Toyota, and a few more besides. Apparently it was hurting sales of real life cars… Go figure lol
We are not getting an F1 expansion. They have their own licensed game. What I would like is a real racing league and custom series expansion. Something with GT cars with a whole field of cars in different divisions would be ideal. They would take on the other big name franchises head on with this, and when properly homologated or balanced, you can see a real e-sport potential.
A- Ability to select a full field of AI in private lobby.
B- Ability to select each individual AI cars in free play and private lobby,
C- Ability to select each individual AI strength level in free play and private lobby.
D- Free play will no longer force you into 3 useless options of restart (which reload the track again?), next track (which is one you probably don’t want to do or race length not to your test) or quit (which load back menu and force you to reload Free play for your next race.) Instead a nice option to return to free play setting directly without loading anything yet so you can setup your next race.
E- Free play will allow you to exit back to main menu WHILE it is loading a track instead of having no such options and having to wait to do so (see D)
F- Free play will no longer freeze FM7 entirely after you selected next track but wanted to do something else, so chose a different one and then are browsing for a car to go with.
G- The game will actually report all the showcase everyone’s done to the hub instead of saying things like 27/30 while you’ve done them all.
H- Shopping basket will be introduced for upgrade shop instead of forcing you to buy all the parts you want to check out in order to tweak to a PI/homologation.
I- In League the menu called ‘Tune & Upgrades’ will actually lead to a tune and upgrade shop instead of actually being a Load A tune sections. So you won’t have to back out of a good league in order to make a minute adjustment to ARB, DIff, or brake balance.
J- Torque value will be added to the upgrade shop in the available line right below Weight distribution or adding in between power & call while moving other 2 value down where there is actually space to do so.
K- Restart will be introduced in Career, Free Play, & Rivals allowing to actually restart the race right there and save on repetitive strain injury from Option button, down, down, down, right, click Quit Race, Click Ok, Game reload, click start race, by-pass animation.
L- There’s going to be a hot Lapping options that will double as a Test Session as well right in the main menu. Allowing you to pick any car and track then automatically record your best lap in the correct category for your car. Pause menu will have tune invalidating your current lap but allowing you minute on the fly adjustment while not having to restart a race, wasting time reload and doing a Lap 1 time again just to fine tune.
M- UI interface will be visible during start countdown allowing you properly see your Rev for an enhanced start. (And make drag racer happier)
N- You be able to turn off crowd/background garage noise while waiting to start a race. And if the race is actually Formula-E you will not hear ICE revving noise?
O- AI will be overhauled to be more consistent. (Enough said)
P- All blank screen lasting more than 1 seconds will be eliminated to prevent stress on customer thinking something is wrong.
Q- All car preview in your garage will actually be a small representation of the actual cars. (I.e, a Jaguar will no longer have a BMW icons, the right color/pain will be applied as well).
R- In upgrade shop, when you select a category it will actually default to the items that is actually installed instead of the first one. Making it smoother to check on what your current settings is.
S- The game will no longer start you with the wrong camera, typically the 3rd person view, but actually 100% use your selected default.
T- We will allow your in career to see the leaderboard even on the last race of the serie instead of going to podium directly.
U- Rear quarter panel, window silt, and other car element will now pop-up/down much further away as to prevent pop-in/out distraction when a car in front is just on that threshold which is currently way to close as to make it very evident.
V- Cars headlight would be allowed to be open/close with the push of the right thumbstick. Yes it will finally pop-down light on cars with pop-up light that have them up ALL the time even during day. (Yes Miata you are one of those).
W- Dirty Lap indicator will exist in all race event, including career.
X- New ‘tunnel’ assist will be introduced where it place walls, only for you, at the track edge so you can scrap against them with no speed penalty to help you properly learn the track limits.
Y- New drivers suit will be introduced, of course, we will say 50 but it really is going to be 5 with 10 different color variation.
Z - More important of all, from this point forward all new forzathon and features will work right the first time every time!
All for the low low price of 30$USD, 38$CAD, 22£, 39$AUD, 25$EU.
Ok, I had some fun but too many of those are true or would be really nice addition. (bonus if you read to the last 3). And yes, except X-Z, they probably should have all been in there already for free.
