UPDATE 4:
After Thrustmaster reviewed my situation they are sending me a new wheel base. I appreciate this. To me, that is a great company, them whom take care of their clientele. Instead of giving me the run around like most do. This is why, I will remain loyal to them and buy their products. If you’re reading. Thanks Thrustmaster.
UPDATE 3:
Finally spoke with a representative. Sent out email with video proof and proof of purchase. Waiting till she reaches back out. I was told my case was sent to RMD. So now I wait.
UPDATE 2:
Sent out email to Thrustmaster. Will try to update the wheel again. This time. I won’t do the flash boot up process. According to a forum member, in one of the wheel reported problem links I posted below, this part does not need to be done.
UPDATE 1 – REGARDING MY TX WHEEL NOT STAYING ON AFTER UPDATING IT TO RECOGNIZE TH8A SHIFTER:
So sh*t just got real!
I went ahead and updated my tx wheel. Following the instructions of the “update procedure” pdf to the T. Now my wheel is not being recognized by my Xbox One - but when I test it on my laptop in the control panel - works flawlessly.
I’ll go about normal procedure. Power on my XB1 and then proceed to connecting my wheel. It spins one time to the right and then to the left, then completely shuts down. So obviously, it does work - it just refuses to stay on. It’s not the wire - this does not happen on my laptop when testing it in control panel. Checking all its inputs & force feedback. This is update/software related not hardware. If you read my original post below. The wheel was working flawlessly until I had to update it to recognize the th8a shifter. And I also chose the “Xbox One” wheel update.
I’m having the same issues as the two guys in the links below basically. Except “none” of the suggestions in the first link are working for me:
http://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst24192_Thrustmaster-TX-Wheel-no-longer-detected-by-Xbox-One.aspx
This is horrible and highly annoying. Basically the updates killed all my Thrustmaster devices from being recognized by my Xbox One, but yet, my laptop recognizes them no problem within the control panel. Smh. I’ll be sending a copy & paste of this thread over to Thrustmaster come Monday.
ORIGINAL POST REGARDING TH8A SHIFTER NOT BEING RECOGNIZED BY MY TX WHEEL:
0: Just received TH8A Shifter along with the T3PA Pro pedals. The T3PA Pro pedals work fine - my wheel base recognizes them just fine.
1st: Firmware Updated (Did it twice!)
2nd: When on my Laptop I checked the gear shifting to make sure it worked. It was worked fine. The TH8A shifter control panel where it shows the gears in boxes (They light up whenever you shift to them) all the gears lit up as I switched over to them.
3rd: Did the whole unplug, power down the Xbox One system thing.
4th: Made sure the pin connector is securely fit into the wheel base (ALSO… I never connected it to XB1 directly via USB - directions say NEVER do that)
EXPLANATION:
I start the game. I’m in my 2014 Volkswagen Golf R. (Shifter does not do anything as I shift) I tried turning off clutch requirement and turning it on (I have T3PA Pro’s) still nothing.
I then researched further online. Found a similar thread to mine (TH8A shifter not being recognized) on Poject Cars forum, where one of the members states, if the car is not sequential in real life - then 6-7gear shifter mode won’t work for that car in the game, simulation and all. Cool. Nice detail.
Thought this suggestion might transfer over to Forza 6. I have no idea which car is 6-7gear or sequential (I’m a noob) and there seems to be no way to tell via the limited car descriptions on the right side of the vehicle. So anyways, I switched over to my 2013 Ferrari LaFerrari (figured this outta be a 6-7gear shift) - still no recognization. Nothing is happening!
Somebody help please. This is getting annoying and I’m tired of searching online, (been searching for hours) and there are several threads for various forums just like this one I’m posting. However, somebody makes a suggestion to the OP, but the OP doesn’t even respond to his/her thread and mention if they had their problem resolved - lame.
So here I am opening up a new thread for people with my dilemma. When I get a resolve I WILL post it.
