So after all this time playing Forza 4, I’m finally getting bored of it. There doesn’t seem to be any super fast people left that race S-class online. If i were to open a user created lobby set to collisions off, I’d sit there all night without even a hint of competition, or even just any people at all. I like to race collisions off or get a good few laps on there, like 8-10 laps or more, and race with collisions. Clearly nobody else left playing Forza 4 likes to play this way. Back in the heyday of Forza 4, i could race with ONR, FMS, etc pretty much whenever.
I had decided i was going to skip Forza 5, mainly due to the poor feedback, except I’m craving super fast races. I don’t know if i can wait until Forza 6 for this. What i want to know is if the games fastest players are still playing Forza 5? Particularly those that race S-class or maybe A-class? Many fast players like racing without collisions or like racing longer races? Just reading into some of the comments on here, and just how dead the forum is in general, i get the impression a lot of people aren’t really playing much anymore. Is it pointless for me to splash out on an xbox 1 and Forza 5?
Give it a miss. From what you posted, I believe the lack of user created lobbies (searchable) in FM5 will give this game a short life span for you.
Hoppers are impossible, due to wreckers and short races.
If you can get enough like minded chaps into a game together, it is good fun, until robot voices kick in, then people become unable to join the game, and eventually you stop hearing some people in races all together, followed by a pinch of not even being able to see someone’s car on track.
Take the negative feedback and lack of activity on here as a sign.
The game really can be great fun. But there is too much wrong with it if racing is your thing.
Honestly this will be the last Forza for me and I purchased everyone on launch day since Forza 1.
Why?
Simple fact Turn 10 and Microsoft refuse to do anything to stop the wreckers in the races. I have zero fun online due to this and I only purchase games that have a strong multiplayer aspect to them since it is worth the money then.
Why should I spend time and money on a game to have zero enjoyment out of it? And I am so VERY tired of the typical and usual response of: “Well play with your friends.”
I would do just that if they were online 24/7. But they have lives and not able to do such. Why should I have to base my gaming time and schedule it? Gaming is about relaxing when I can.
Sorry. Something needs to be done about the wreckers. Until then I am sad to say any future Forza title is not a purchase for me.
If you liked A and S class in FM4, You’d like B and A class in FM5. The F1 car basically dropped everything in FM4 down a class roughly speaking. The hopper races are a little longer than FM4 for the most part which is good and you get a vote before each race to chose one of 2 tracks or random which is really awesome. Its virtually impossible to vote a driver out of the lobby so lobbies can easily be ruined by 1 or 2 bad apples. There are no custom public lobbies so it may be hard to get enough people together to do no collisions or longer races (say like 10-15 laps) in a private setting. I’ve played FM4 recently and had a better time finding capable racers than FM5. The last time I played FM5 before i sent my box off I messed around in B class and there was literally one guy who knew what to drive and was running good laps and the rest of the lobby were running laps 10-15 seconds off pace. On the weekends it seems you can find some lobbies with as many as 6 people who can drive decently (not always fast but good enough to slow you down in a good way) but usually the lobbies are full of newer players that can’t even put up a good fight. There’s not much competition out there it seems or I just play at all the wrong times! lol.
I would not say it is pointless to get Forza 5, however the game is in its last month or near last month of getting updated for tracks cars features etc. and Horizon 2 comes out in a month. It is a great game for the graphics and physics, but it is missing many tracks, cars, and features from previous games and still has known glitches that have not been fixed, it was believed to be rushed to meet the launch of xbox one, that being said it is a very fun game and I love every bit of it. I would say you’re entering this game late since it has been out for almost a year, but I wouldnt let that discourage you as forza 6 will also be out probably next year for the xbone. To answer your main question, yes there are many competitive people in Forza 5 at the moment I’ve seen plenty of ERS and ONR people in the hoppers and they are pretty fast. There may be a bit less on the initial launch of Forza Horizon 2, but we’ll see.
I hope this is a good answer to your questions,
Cheers.
i agree its a great game for what it is the graphics and physics are superb the only reason im getting a bit tired of is the chevy engine swaps or the 1.6 turbo lumps in every car on line… hopefully forza 6 will go back to manufacture only conversions…i may get horizon 2 as horizon on 360 was ok but multiplayer was terrible in my opinion so the game had short time with me
Part of me thinks that they have accepted the PCars will take many/most of the racers away, and have all but given up on that side.
The other part of me hopes they simply slipped up, and ill still try FM6 before writing off the franchise. I enjoyed FM4 so much, it was the only reason I bothered to keep the xbox. Hopefully the stripped back 5 is just a bump in the road
I like that game and i am on when i have got time, it is what it is. not boring about it. Hangin in c class non contact lobbys and or making tunes, i like the graphic and physics a lot.
I would say give it a miss your missing nothing…
The community is dead.
Competition dead.
Clean good racers few and far between.
But the graphics are ok and the physics are good execpt the kerbs and bumps make the cars act totally unrealistic.
The online issues are embarrassing and dont know where i will end if i start lol.
There are so many cheats and wreckers cutting every corner they can, because they can…
90% of the cars are only competetive with the 5.7 V8 or 1.6 rally engine swaps…killed off the game after about a month.
But on the positive side lol your still gettin an Xbox One and im hopeful Fm6 will go back to being the great series it was with realistic racing and tuning otherwise they will lose most.
Its gone too far trying to appeal to the masses/average gamer and has/is turning into another run of the mill arcade racer.
I would stick with the 360 as it still does alot more than the one and is faster at what it does aswell…but saying that if you have the money just take the plunge as your gonna buy it sometime anyway…
theres about 1yr 3 months left on FM5 before FM6 comes out, plenty of life in it, and all the positives easily out weigh the negatives. If you like racing with collisions off, then you can race the S class Rivals leaderboard. And there a tons of really fast racers on there, you really think there are no fast racers in the whole world on FM5 ???
Rivals mode isn’t racing per say. Sadly though rivals is the only consistent place to test your skills. This is not what the OP is curious about.
The OP is crazy fast. There aren’t many crazy fast drivers out there playing online. This is by far the easiest forza to win races online without trying unless you by chance run into a few clubbed drivers or Raceboy and his friends. It gets boring quick.
I recognize your gamertag. Naturally, you’d be winning races left and right with your skills. Xbox One is a new console though, and compared to the 360, the fanbase for Forza on One isn’t all that big. Give it a few Forzas and a few years for the Xbox One to cheapen further, and soon the fast crowd will return.
If you want a challenge though, check the C-Class and D-Class hoppers. The fastest I’ve run in to have been populating those lobbies as they are the least populated with wreckers (in my experiences).
And yea I spend a lot of time in D and C class and those classes have died a bit. Randomly I would get paired with a TPR driver or some other folks that I know I need to bring the A game just to keep them in sight. Haven’t had much luck as of late, though admittedly I haven’t been able to play with my box getting repaired. I will say though that with exception to a few times, the wrecking wasn’t too bad. Maybe that is the crop of “new blood” sort of speak that’ll be the top dogs before long. I still have hope though for the next game which I’ll probably buy anyways even if its crap. lol
I disagree with most of the other people who have replied. I will admit that I don’t race online with Forza 5 though, so I can’t say what the online experience is like. I was critical of the game when it came out. The lack of cars and tracks was disappointing. Even worse was the apparent micro transactions. I still play Forza 5 probably an hour per week. I think much better of the game now than when it was launched. The car and track selection is much better and more diverse than at launch. I still wish there were certain cars and tracks from Forza 4 that made it to Forza 5, but that is unfortunately not the case. The drivatars used to be really frustrating, but Turn 10 has improved them with updates and they race much cleaner now. I’ve ordered a Thrustmaster TX as I can no longer play with the controller.
Forza 4 is still the best all around Forza title, but Forza 5 has seen steady improvements. Turn 10 has made clear efforts to respond to fan criticism and improve the game on a monthly basis. I think you’d still enjoy playing it for the next year until Forza 6 launches. You could also play Forza Horizon 2 if you enjoyed the first game. I will be skipping Horizon 2 (I didn’t like the 1st one) and will still be playing Forza 5 until Forza 6 is out.
I’d pick up Horizon 2 on Xbox One which should last about 2 months of solid play and just as your getting bored of it PCars will be hitting the shelves. Win Win
I would say its better now than at the beginning and wreckers are getting fewer. Once Horizon is released hopefully the last few rammers will leave and go there instead.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m well aware of the shortcomings of Forza 5. I was just hoping it’d still be possible to get some intense fast racing. That’s what is important and what I mainly care about. however, it seems like even this will be difficult to find or to set up with any real success. I want to race longer races or collisions off races with a bunch of like-minded people every time I play, like I was able to in Forza 4 at one time. I don’t know, maybe I will hold off on the Xbox 1 until Project Cars releases. It is a lot of money to spend on something I may not be very happy with. I want an Xbox 1 but I’m only going to buy one if there’s a game I definitely will love.
I’d say wait for Forza 6. Forza 5 is a good game, but it is an unfinished game that retains a lot of updated last-gen elements. Forza 6 will be much better, and will have a more complete car and track list. I’d say wait, but if you want to race badly enough, Forza 5 will do you no wrong.
