Has anyone noticed a decline in MP lobbies?

I got on last night around 7 PM (Eastern time zone in US) to do some X class MP races. I wasn’t able to get into a lobby in either the X class endurance hopper or regular hopper. It kept waiting for match in both hoppers for a bout 5 min. I’ve never waited for more than a few moments to find a match. There were no connection or server issues that I could identify. I’m assuming that there were very few people racing in X class. I didn’t try any other class hoppers. I had been outside working and had quite a few beers. X class is the only class where I can stay out of everyone’s way and stay on track somewhat after having a few. Maybe I should start a thread about what cars do you drive best with a buzz?

I love racing the GT cars whilst having a few.

Love the noise when driving in cockpit, with a good aul turtle beach headset up full whack

As long as you’re not hammered you should do fine in any class. I’ve tried playing when I was so drunk that I couldn’t walk and it didn’t go well. Im pretty sure I wrecked a lot of people, but am unsure.

As for lobby sizes, they’ve been dropping for many months now.

A lot of people have jumped across to FH2 or Destiny as they are bored with FM5 and PCARS will drop next month

I’ve noticed this also. FM5 will go on record as having the shortest shelf life of any FM game to date. I think if they had thought enough of us to fix the issues in the bug report/features wishlist, this wouldn’t have happened. I know much of the reason I don’t play much anymore is I tend to notice what’s missing. I was very used to FM4. Loved how complete the game was, from a programming standpoint. The fact that so much simple functionality is lost in FM5 combined with their refusal to fix a lot of simple stuff is disenchanting. But Turn 10 doesn’t care. They got our money…

None of my friends play forza 5 anymore most moved over to the ps4 and the few that got the xbox one brought the game but gave up playing after a few months, I play once every so often but not for long the physics and drivatars kill it for me, plus it’s boring no championships just isn’t motorsport imho.

FM5 physics are actually good and one of the few positives. Played FM4 for curiosity sake and the cars were stiff and lifeless.

Agreed, physics is basically the only thing keeping me even slightly interested for now. Going back to FM4 feels like driving a bus.

The one thing that is different this time around, in a month or so there is a big release that will take an awful lot of FM players, so as they flock from Horizon it won’t be back to FM5. The lobbies will be something akin to a desert in a few weeks - empty and lifeless.

Wouldn’t put it quite that drastically. I know that Forza and PCars will be split as you can’t paint in PCars on the console versions.

What is the point in painting though if there is no one to use those paints? And more to the point, the thread is about decline in MP lobbies - painters are not in those lobbies for the majority of the time so even if a bunch of folk hang around the lobbies are still going to be quiet.

I mean, yes I was being quite drastic with my statement, but I still think the lobbies will be nothing compared to what it was 6 months ago. FM4 lobbies get more attention than FM5 has recently…

We have different opinions

 not a problem. FM4 physics aren’t bad but never suited my driving style. FM5 fit me perfectly.

Have you used magic camber in FM5? Sometime cars in FM5 are annoying to drive if you’re not using at least -2.5/-2.5 camber.

It’s due to Horizon 2.

Yep, same exact thing happened with Forza Motorsport 4 when Forza Horizon was released. Lobbies were for the most part back to normal levels after a month or so. That tag lobbies for example though sort of never recovered, but that’s to be expected to an extent since Forza Horizon is more to the spirit of the people that play those kinds of lobbies, whereas the people that just want to race will stick around in the Forza Motorsport game when they are done messing around for the most part in Forza Horizon 2.

That and after the lobbies recoeved in Forza 4 after the release of Horizon I did notice that there tended to be less griefers about and a bit easier to find quality lobbies without people ramming the hell out of each other.

As a old dude and noob, I can give you another set of reasons. I avoided MP races from go, and now I have confirmed why and do not plan on returning to them.

First, much more lag issues. 8-12 people swearing or playing music non stop (yes, you can mute and that equals more work). So called ‘beginner’ races are allowed to be stacked by high tier racers with scores in the high hundreds-In World of Tanks we call that Seal-Clubbing and there’s not much sport in that. TROLLING-in not one single race did I NOT find a ramming troll-what little damage penalties that may occur, they are not enough to deter this kind of trolling. Sure, you could hope to get a good lobby but odds are fair to none at this point.

Speaking for myself, I mostly enjoy painting liveries and racing them in ‘better-mannered’ drivatar races with elevated AI and simulated damage. I can make more credits and buy more cars to paint. This limits the racing experience, but even this watered-down experience is much more ‘fun’ to me than a multiplayer ‘prison-riot’ match.

Forza 5 is old news now its dead in the water and its all because turn 10 didn’t listen to the proper gamers of the forza community, instead they went with the idea that 5 year olds were able to play this sim lol. And they killed the community when they decided to say good bye to car clubs, This game will not last another year with no more content added its a let down to say the least and wheres September and Octobers car packs and rivals mode see we were done again

Yeah it sure is dead. I joined the GT lobby last night only be added by myself. i waited for several minutes and finally one guy joined. It was not a good experience! The first time I ever quit out of an online Forza race before it was finished. The guy was about my speed but cutting corners. I didn’t see any need to continue racing with just one guy that is cheating so I bailed and like many other started playing Horizon 2.

None of my friends play Forza 5 anymore and the lobbies I like to play are dead. Looks to me that Forza 5 has died off even BEFORE Project Car’s release.

too bad because I did like the game.
