I just picked up a Xbox One and FM5 and I’ve been racing online quite a bit. Like you I want clean, fast racing and you can find it still on FM5. I’ve been having great luck so far and it’s been a blast. I also have a few friends that are all like-minded and we race together as well. If you decide to jump onboard don’t hesitate to send a friend request and we’ll be happy to race with you.
dsquared, there aren’t very many people you can race with on FM5 either. You are going to run top 10’s the day you put the disc in the console and you won’t see anyone in lobbies either. I could go run C class cars in a B class lobby and win every race. Other than the rare “I’m bored” moment I haven’t entered an online lobby since February and those bored moments fade about 2 races in when some crasher knocks me into a wall or I’m drifting the last lap out of boredom and no one to race and still winning. You’re a little faster than I am so it isn’t going to be any better.
There is no competition anywhere, I think Davey played the game for about a day, b0x gave up after a week and sold his and only jumps on his brothers from time to time, Razer never even bought it as far as I know, Goat doesn’t have it, the real ONR vanished, no V12, haven’t seen Misko much, duty mck I’ve never seen, and on and on. The racers that left FM4 didn’t go to FM5 for very long or at all.
Sounds like it’s even more tragic than i had thought! Duty Mck and his gang are, other than my own club (who all never bought or quickly stopped playing FM5), the people i raced most with in FM4. I wonder if all these famous Forza names will return for FM6. These guys probably are getting their racing fix in other racing games, maybe on other platforms. I’ve never branched out and only play Forza. Either FM6 or Project Cars MUST be an outstanding game or i don’t know what I’m going to do. If turn 10 are stuck on what to do they can just give FM4 a next gen’ make over and call it FM4: Shiny Edition. I’ll buy it. Sigh, i got to race.
It happens with every game losing people but the platform change and the step back in the actual racing areas of the game made it more profound. Pretty much hot lap or bust, we are running a series at VM right now and the racing is alright but it’s pretty difficult to get going without issues.
