Tbh. recently I feel if anything is doomed it`s the “hardcore” gaming community, who seem to enjoy writing about how much they hate games more than actually playing them.
Forza 5 to me is a bit bruised on the surface (menus, features, compared to Forza 4), but its also the best Forza at its core, in the quality of physics, tracks, cars …which is what matters to me.
I think (or hope) Turn10 are a very smart company. They know their first game on x1 is not their last. On a healthy core you can build on, the surface can be polished.
Imo that`s a better approach than trying to do everything on the first installment, but not getting anything right.
Also, for my personal taste, there is no competition in sight.
PCars has a shiney surface but so far the physics are …not my thing. Assetto is a great sim, but compared to Forza its a bit "dry". I am optimistic the next Grid will be fun, but thats almost a different genre.
Cut short, Forza still gives me more in one package than other racers.
That said, I hope Turn10 takes a good look at those other racing games, they all have unique strengths I`d like to see incorporated in Forza.
Your other disagreements with me are up to you, I have my opinion, you have yours.
But … I have an idea about the games I play, and am as entitled to have an opinion about them as the next guy.
Then again I don`t even know what you disagree with, for all I know you might be saying that PC is ugly, Assetto a bad sim, and Grid boring.
Your opinion/argument is misinformed and flawed then. No, it really is. “Shiney Surface” ? “Dry”? Physics are not my thing? This does not compute. Then you throw in GRID, which is very different game therefore starting a potato vs orange battle.
“for all I know you might be saying that PC is ugly” - What does this even mean?
Am I the lucky guy whom you randomly picked today to fight over nothing?
There is no misinformation or flaw in a first hand opinion.
Mine happens to be that the upcoming racing games have their own strength, but certainly won`t doom Forza.
If you have played the games have your own opinion, if you have not …
Anyway, not the kind of conversation i am after, so I am out.
I have looked forward to various circuit racing games. I really enjoy circuit racing. I have enjoyed all of the 360 games that were based on circuits, even those that were bagged by the critics.
I really hope that Project Cars is a good game so I can have 2 circuit racers to play. I have heard mixed feedback about the physics model though.
Time will tell if it lives up to the hype. If it does at least I will have 2 discs to swap in my disc tray.
You ask a question , then in the very next sentence answer it yourself, because some of the nonsense that appears in these threads give the Mods something to laugh at, which makes a change from posts and threads making us feel like humanity has taken a huge evolutionary step backwards.
In return I can completely agree with that, Forza 6 will be crucial, Turn 10 will have to give their best there. OT: Thanks a lot for your great tunings, especially for the new Infiniti Indy Light, great fun to drive.
I don’t believe the series is doomed, but I do believe they squandered a great opportunity to get and hook new fans to the series. Forza 5 was a launch title and had no competition on either next gen system other than need for speed which is basically worthless. The car count should have been at least 300 and the track count should have been at least 25 even if they had to just fill it with original tracks. The features that forza 5 lacks is the killer though, there was no need to get rid of them, all it has done is strip replay value and add to the list of bad press for this game. As far as time restraints go they have released an extra 88 cars in 6 months, at that rate of production they would have had 352 cars in the two years they were making the game. I dont blame turn 10 for all the problems this game has, I think most problems stem from the xbox one not being ready, but this game other than graphics is not as feature packed and polished as their past products and that is worry some. As far as project cars is concerned I think it’s the perfect thing to happen for the forza series because competition forces innovation. Project cars is definitely hyped up right now but they certainly have a behemoth to contend with in forza, even though it has its issues it still is the best racing game available on a console and I think when project cars comes out it will have some cool features but it wont be better and might make people appreciate forza a little more. Only time will tell, hopefully this is just a hiccup in the forza franchise and I have no doubt turn 10 will be out for blood when it comes to forza 6. Being racing fans we are all very competitive by nature and the people at turn 10 are no different. I believe with forza 6 turn 10 will leave little doubt that the forza motorsport franchise is the king of console racing.
I remember when i didnt like a game and kept playing it and then complained about it. This game isnt perfect but it is just a game. I personally like this game but i do see that i can be better. Forza has been working on making it better for us and yes they cant go as fast as we would like or add everything we would like but they are trying.
To call this game doomed because Project cars is coming out is just ridiculous. It has yet to be released and everybody is saying that its going to be so much better which is a little crazy to me.
Just remember this is a game. If you dont like it make an educated statement about why and leave it at that.
The same people making the same statements; defending everything Turn 10 and Microsoft does, not matter what the circumstances.
Maybe the Forza series is doomed, maybe it’s not. The people who have already left Xbox One, Forza and these forums behind will not be commenting here, they don’t care if the Forza franchise continues or not.
This iteration of forza is bad. It could habe been much better. It didnt raise the bar as
But saying its doomed is plain stupid.
I’ve been on this forum since the day of its creation.
“Forza 1 is doomed, its not as good as GT”
“Forza 2 is doomed, its still not as good a GT”
“Forza 3 is doomed, a new GT is coming soon”
“Forza 4 is doomed, Forza 3 was better !”
“Forza 5 is doomed, we dont have public lobbies !!”
This is the absolute truth. No matter how good or bad the next Forza Motorsport title is, another impending ‘doomed’ thread is imminent. It never fails.
