So yet another game is coming out that could easily rival Forza, World of speed (Trailer) and it seems to have weather effects… Keep reading it isn’t a rant about the lack of weather. So I’d like to point the past Forza games stood out against other games that offered things that Forza lacked because Forza had some pretty good features such as the auction house, custom OPEN lobbies and Autovista (which I personally believe was a waste of time).
Obviously this time it’s different as FM5 lacks all but the autovista (YAY!! waste more time on something about 10% of people will use). The only thing that could prevent WOS being a “deadly” rival to Forza would be a car list. If you already know about WOS then you’ll know that Slight Mad Studios is working on it so it could be more arcade like than Forza. Forza used to be this great Simulator-Arcade hybrid but now… sure it keeps the simulation like physics but the gameplay screams arcade.
So what I’m failing to understand here is, why were so many features taken out that were widely used (auction house and the old storefront) and with the Xbox One being this supposed super machine that Microsoft make it out to be it was the perfect moment to go in with the “engines at full revs” and bring out something revolutionary to the Forza franchise by giving us things that have been requested for at least 3 games. Don’t get me wrong FM5 is a great game and I’m happy that I’m able to play it and I’m perfectly happy to support it by purchasing DLC but when they said they could make the experience better by making the cars worse with tiny imperfections I think they decided that doing the same to the whole game would have the same effect to me it seems like they have opened themselves up to the competition. Unless T10 really step up the game with Forza (spin off 2) and Forza (6) then it will be a doomed series because there’s a good few games that could heavily impact Forza so I can’t get my head around the downgrade.
It’s not that T10 left out certain features because they wouldn’t fit or what have you. They left out the storefront and auction house because in previous games they were too abused, at least the auction house. I personally like the way tunes and designs are set up now as the creator gets a certain amount of credits based on use. As for other features coming to the game, T10 has said they would continually update the game with what the community wants and that first big update we received not so long ago was the first of many to come.
I think the one game that is coming to PS4/Xbox One that would actually give Forza some competition is Project Cars and that’s a good thing. That’ll make T10 have to raise the bar more and produce something even greater for Forza 6. As for the rumored Horizon 2, I can’t wait to see what the developers(hopefully Playground again) have in store for the new title.
dude the game FM5 sucks. it is a terrible game like horizon was. i would rather play the fisr FM game then FM5. the car selction sucks. the track selection sucks. the cars are hard to drive. they need to bring back what i like call night races. they need to bring back some of the tracks from the frist FM game. like that 4 mile test track oval. not benchmark. they need to bring back sidewinder tracks. aka the copperhead. sedona speedway. sunset speedway. the night race which was the orignal race, and was awesome. this game is terrible. it features nothing like the other games. they need to get some night races. make it to where the tracks transitions from day to night and night to day and rain to not rain. pending on how long the races are. think about it. i got more ideas that could really make this franchize kick the teeth off of the comptition. and make this racing game fantastic. i am sure you would agree.
that maybe, but i am sure you agree with me. dont you want a few night races or tracks to transition. and some more tracks from fm1 to fm5 to come back on fm6 if they make another one. fm5 is terrible and you all know it. turn10 is destroying this racing game franchise. if you have played all of them from the first game to this new one. you would agree that this game is terrible. needs more tracks better handling on the cars, better car selection, night races. and about four or five ovals. that last post wasn’t sarcasm i was serious. i will give them this though. drifting is bit easier than on the other games. oh yea here is another thing the damage physics is terrible too. case in point. go hit a hit wall with a formula 1 car and see what happens. and tell me that it isn’t terrible. hmmmm. turn 10 needs to work on that. I have more ideas and one track or two that i wish they would bring back from the first game is the alpine ring from the first game… Why didn’t the keep the tracks that have been on the games since the first one. like maple valley, sunset pennisula racway, road america, and many others. racing on 14 track repeatedly is annoying. so they have different track maps. big deal. More tracks, and better selection of cars please.
Is it just me or does this sound like all the stuff people have been using to slam the GT series of games on playstation? Gimme more cars (1200+) and include all the old ones too. Gimme more tracks (40+) and include all the old ones too. But wait, there’s more, Gimme night racing. Oh, why not include rain too while your at it. And don’t forget to bring back the old AI because drivatars always screw things up. I almost forgot, add in endurance racing too.
If I bought into this I’d be playing GT6. I have it and have put in about 10 hours total on it as opposed to hundreds of hours on Forza 5 when I add up the tuning, test driving, painting and racing.
Is this all it takes nowadays to be predicated by gamers as the next best thing in the virtual racing genre - a flashy trailer and some snazzy marketing lingo? I hope it works out for the developers; but, as a free-to-play title, I think you’ve set your expectations far too high.
Forza 5 lacks so many features because it was rushed to be ready at for the launch of the Xbox One. If Turn 10 had more time, it would have had more cars, more tracks, and all of the features that Forza 4 had.
Rushed? You know the Forza Motorsport franchise has always been on a two-year release cycle, right? And, as a Microsoft entity, Turn 10 has likely had the largest amount of time for production when compared to any third-party developer. So, the fact that Forza 5 has fewer tracks and vehicles has nothing to do with being rushed and everything to do with the fact that track environments, vehicle models, physics and graphics were completely remodeled for the new generation of gaming. Without having done so, we’d be welcoming in an era of standard content - something Turn 10 was, obviously, not fond of doing.
The game is horrible. I’ve been a Forza fan since the original Xbox ( well except Forza 2 which was also garbage). I play most of the car sims that come out and I’ve been gaming since late 70’s. Putting aside the beaten to death topics of minimalistic tracks and cars. Putting aside the obvious cash grab that is the micro transactions and charging $3 per car when those cars should have been in the game in the first place. The core problem with this game for me is the actual driving - its among the worse I’ve played in years. I never drive with assists on, I always pick sim over arcade, but this game is practically un-playable at times with cars that twitch and jerk for no reason at all, cars that feel like they are on ice all the time. Forget the fact that its just not any fun, but at times its down right frustrating that my 458 italalia can’t take a simple easy turn at 45mph but yet a lesser car can? And forget trying to correct a slide once it happens because you just spin out forcing you to hit the Y button and try again. All these issues only really start popping up once you get to the faster cars, which by then you already completely bored of the same ole tracks anyways. I’ve actually tested it where you drive a car straight, let go of the stick, and at random times the car just jerks or twitches into a spin??!?!? The game is just absolute garbage and I feel I totally wasted my money on my VIP edition
I see they keep trying to add cars with dlc and whatnot, but that’s not the problem. The game just is too messed up as a driving Sim. Its not even a good arcade racer. Its just a mess. Between the sloppy design, lack of content, features missing completely and insulting us with micro transactions - Take 10 has lost all my respect. I hope someone else out there see’s the opportunity to step up and move in with their own proper Racing game because Take 10 has fallen, and Polyphony D isn’t much different.
Stop complaining, those feature were removed due to the amount of modding and glitching in Forza4. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this out.
Fair enough but why did they feel the need to scrap almost 600 cars and rebuild them, keeping in mind that the cars on this game barley look any different. The need to scrap some of the tracks… was that needed? only for the ones they remade. Why did they waste time on something that a small percentage of people will use (Forzavista) when they could have been using the time for something else such as clearing up the game issues (such as the garage icon being shown in the garage but not the store). I’m not complaining about them being removed… I am complaining about forzavista but I’m just putting this out there… Were these removals necessary?
