I just recently upgraded to XBOX SERIES X (from my previous ONE X console) just to play Forza Motorsport 8. The game won’t launch on the console. I’ve tried factory resetting my console and re-downloading the game, clearing game data, using other account, multiple times with no luck. The game stays stuck at the splash screen, with the loading circle frozen. Never managed to reach the main menu.
Game version: 1.509.0566.0
The console is fully updated. Anyone with the same issue? FM8 is maybe the only reason I upgraded my console

Did you upgrade like I did from Xbox One
- all games over to external disk that I brought over to XSX?
There were some bugs a year ago where installer did not follow the settings whether games should be installed on external or the internal SSD.
Looking at manage game and addons if installed on internal first.
If that is alright, then do the usuall power cycle thing to clear cache stuff
- hold console Xbox button for 10s to shutdown
- pull plug for 30s to make all power to go lost
- then power up console and launch again
Done all that. Freshly restored console and reinstalled game, power cycles, tried it disconnected from internet. Also tried copying the game from a friends console that works, to mine, but the problem persists. All the other games I copied work fine. All games work fine except FM8. I even left the game in the splash screen for almost 3 hours to see if it’s frozen or has just very slow loading for some reason. The only thing I haven’t tried is to find a physical copy of the game to try install it from the disc.
The few times I’ve failed to load in I had to switch from ethernet to wifi.
You did not mention if external disk or not?
At one time I could not get console to boot even after a system update, it just hung.
I disconnected external disk - and all went fine.
- also after connecting external disc again all was good
Computers are strange beasts sometimes…
i’m suffering the same. i have the game on pc. i then bought a new xbox series x and it wont get past the menu screen. every time after 3-5 seconds it crashes. it worked fine on pc but i want it to run on xbox as i have bought a new 65inch tv to go with it.
…any suggestions?
No external disk. Just an xbox series x console with no other games installed other than Forza Motorsport 8. Tried with no WiFi and no internet connection at all. Also just tried using with ethernet cable.

Having the same issues as stated above. Game is fully installed on series X. But game will not start. Just wondering if any resolutions were discovered with this situation. Any help is appreciated.

My game crashed to black screen tonight while I tried to look at my car in the car bay. Now it won’t start again. It gets stuck on the splash screen and nothing happens. Everything was fine before update 4. I’ve submitted a ticket to Forza Support as well. Has anyone found a solution?
