Game Launch Crash after Small Splash Screen due to Access Violation

Anyone else who is facing the same issue getting into the game?

The game is not yet available. You’ll have to wait a little longer.
See this message for the release times:

Same issue here. Unpacking went fine, both game & NVIDIA drivers are up-to-date but the game keeps automatically closing.

It is past midnight in Kiribati, if the game still doesn’t work in 25 minutes then turn 10 has some answering to do

Having the same issue here! tried launching as admin to see if that would help no difference.

Tried admin, restart PC, verifying game files. None of it is working, trying a reinstall now but microsoft’s servers being slower than steam as usual…

What CPU/GPU btw, everyone on reddit with the issue is listing AMD cpus

Kirimati Island is +14

Haha unlucky, I thought the consensus was that PC players have the game rolling out differently than Xbox? Something about a platform called “Steam” releasing it in a Global Release fashion instead of how Xbox releases which is midnight/rolling release.

Or are you booting the game up elsewhere on the PC? I am very unaware haha.

But I did read that whatever way you are booting the game on PC where it is a midnight release, you can do the Kiribati time shift where the timezone most ahead on Xbox is 1 whole hour behind which is New Zealand.

Steam is global release, but xbox app on PC is rolling start

Oh nice, so I’m guessing it still isn’t working? Is the game just crashing or are you getting some kind of weird error code?

Crash to desktop after splash screen, no error code

How about now? Maybe people are rushing the servers, actually no. If the game isn’t starting then I don’t know. What time did you change your timezone.

Did the screen load atleast a little bit differently after you changed your timezone? (Like was it different to when you opened the game in your own locked timezone?)

Someone on reddit is reporting that turning off the internet solves the issue (Freeplay only), probably a check on the server side once the game launches stopping the game. Maybe it will be fixed in 9 minutes

It’s gone quiet here, does that mean it’s working now?

Crashes after signing in and checking for updates. About 1 sec after saying “You’re up to date”.

No, nothing is fixing it, but some users are able to launch it.

Could it be that your PC is set to a different location than your internet, which results in the game crashing due to conflicting locations. If launching offline works, maybe it could also work when using a VPN set to a location that is similar to the location on your PC?

I know why it does not work, because we all bought it in the MS Store and not Xbox App. For the people who bought in the Xbox App the NZ trick works as the countdown adjusts accordingly. If you bought in MS Store then it does not because the countdown and the time shown contradict and then the game crashes when it wants to update in the main menu. Like how weird is it to have two different versions for two different ways to buy directly from Microsoft lol
