Every time I play Forza Motorsport (2023) on my Series X console (in single player career or free play mode) the game crashes to the Xbox dashboard within 45-90 minutes of gameplay. 10 months ago, like most other people, I was very disappointed, but optimistic that the game would eventually be fixed. In spite of many very deserved criticisms, I enjoyed FM anyway, and when itās working, I DO enjoy it. But after having tried ALL the āfixesā, inlcuding factory console reset, the constant game crashes have beaten any and all optimism out of me. I know FM is broken and will likely never be truly fixed, but now Iām beginning to wonder if my Series X is also broken. This game has disappointed me so much over the last 10 months, Iām at the point of turning my back on the whole ecosystem and just playing stuff on my PS5, which Iāve almost had no problems with at all. And NO, Iām NOT a Sony super fan, either, Iāve had and enjoyed every Xbox since the first one, and thatās why this broken buggy software that I really wanted to love, is all the more heartbreaking. Not really a question in there, just venting and wondering if anyone else is feeling the same. Damb FM23 and Esakiās broken promises.
Sorry to hear about these issues your having, i also play on the series x and whilst i still get the occasional infinite loading screen (recently when loading tunes) or crash to dash (mainly after the end of an mp race) its nothing like what your experiencing, id say in my case its more stable now than it has been since release as i can run for hours problem free, however i never use quick resume any longer as i felt thats where my issues lay and since no longer using it my game is more stable. hope someone has a solution as i can imagine its hugely annoying.
Never had in-race game crashes before, but seems to be happening at least once a day for me since update 11. They seem to happen at start of race or mostly lap 1/2, only been happening in MP.
PC.
Also, fix the skill system so it does not count as just quitting a race at the start and getting a massive skill penalty when the game crashes.
no doubt. 10 months after release, with the latest patched version, the game canāt even run single player game modes without crashing to the Xbox dashboard, the very console this game was ābuilt from the ground upā for. Pathetic. I would love to see a documentary on what the ()*$& happened at T10 during this gameās overlong development. I would PREFER to have a working, functional piece of software, but barring that, letās see what happened at that studio.
Doing career races where you upgrade the car before/between races still causes crashes at the finish line.
Upgrading the car from the home screen (go to car menu) before going into the career menu will not result in crashes.
Thanks for the tip, but it didnāt fix the problem for me. Today, I started the āroad to raceā career mode, after having done the carās upgrading AND tuning before ever having started the championship. The game didnāt even make it through the first race at Road Atlanta before crashing back the Series X dashboard. I managed to clip a very short part before it crashed and attached it to the ticket I have open with Support. I have all the hope and optimism that support will be able to resolve this issue as you might expect. ā¦which is NONE, btw. none at all. FM8 is what happens when you daisy chain a litany of bad choices with inept execution and zero quality control. It is the REDFALL of racing games. How the Horizon series can be so stellar in nearly every aspect, but the series that I care about, Motorsport, can be so shoddy and broken, is beyond me.
Xbox series x: deleted progress in class cup after last update.
Previously i had progressed from class d to class s now showing no progress at all and need to start from class d again. Fm8
Reported officially for PC. Havenāt waded through all the things to check off suggested by supportā¦ (been playing on Series X instead). Everything is just fine, menus, cutecenes, options, etc. It crashes with me after I go from in race menu, as soon as the countdown is up and I take the wheelā¦ Constant freezing, locking, then maybe a crash. Sometimes even though itās unplayable, I can keep hitting pause, itāll let me enter the menus again, and quit the game. Everything works but actual race/run timeā¦
https://youtu.be/bs_OMo9o3ZE As you can see after the pits, the cockpit camera sometimes presents a bug because the driver disappears or loses his arms. This is not the first time that I experienced. It must be the second or third time.
follow up here: Since experiencing non-stop game crashes while playing FM8 on my Series X, I recently started playing FM8 on an older Series S that Iād bought about 6 months before a Series X became available to me. Since playing FM8 on my old Series S, Iāve experienced a few minor bugs, but ZERO game crashes. On both machines, Iām playing in āPerformanceā mode visuals, so Iām not sure whatās going on. Maybe my Series X is borderline broken or on its last leg or something, or maybe thereās something that the game requires of the Series X thatās too much for it to be able to run in a stable manner. Either way, I guess Iām stuck playing this on my old Series S, because decreased visuals are FAR better than constant, daily, super annoying game crashes. Iām sure af not going to buy another Series X to test out my hypothesis. All of this is really frustrating, b/c when the game is working properly, I genuinely love FM8, in spite of its problems. If I didnāt like the game, I wouldnāt bother posting here and to FM Support. The whole situation is just a big mess.
