The problem I have with the AI, is that whenever I’m like 10 seconds ahead, they all form up in a single line and rubber band like mad so I don’t pull away any further. They weren’t like that in the previous games, and this is NOT how they’re supposed to be programed! And the devs haven’t fixed this issue since early access, what the hell are they doing!?
Working on Horizon 6 ![]()
Really? Well, let’s hope they don’t do the same mistake twice!
I don’t know at all whether I should still actively play this game if the Drivatars in particular violate the rules of the game or, even better, if you are very experienced since Forza Horizon 4 and for several years, the Drivatars in Forza Horizon 5 behave on a completely different level . I’m not talking unbeatable but unbeatable ultimate. The game tells me that I’m bad at every event of the season. I can write a whole post about the rules of the game. Ramming into corners, pushing into the side of corners so my tires lock up and I lose control of my car. Slowing down, blocking and pushing myself off the road so there’s a good chance I’ll miss the checkpoint. Please do something about it because it takes away any motivation to even play the seasonal event. Thanks.
Commenting here as I haven’t seen the Unbeatable AI this BLATANT in their cheating habits before. With the weekly Trial races, they don’t seem to be as bad. Honestly beatable in most cases.
However, as soon as you go to attempt it in single player, it’s like their engines are running on methanol, and their tires grip no matter what. Unless you are able to get to the front of the pack by turn 2, you will not be able to catch up to the AI in first no matter how hard you drive. I’m even talking on cars with tunes that are considered ‘meta’ builds in Horizon Open racing.
Something needs to be reassessed about the Drivatar AI, as the only way I’ve found to beat them is in races that are overly rainy, as they suffer lack of traction for once.
Please consider rebalancing the AI, particularly in solo or co-op races, as they are quite overtuned at this point.
I absolutely would want you guys to also race against the AI yourselves, do some playtesting so that you devs can also see what a mess the higher difficulties are.
Especially in dirt events it is hardly possible if you like driving RWD, you mainly drive against AWD. I don’t mean this in a bad way but it is pretty unfair that I am the only one who has to drive against the AI in RWD, especially if I want to use the original drive. I am already pretty much not going to drive in some seasonal events anymore if it is dirt and the vehicle selection includes AWD vehicles, even if there are none available, most AIs drive in AWD.
They want at least half of players to struggle.
Half of the playerbase losing mean the AI are perfectly balanced technically speaking.
This is a claim that I cannot share as this was never the case in the previous parts. In earlier parts like FH4, the Drivatars drove according to your driving style and stuck to it consistently. That’s how it is in FH5. Most players drive all-wheel drive regardless of the car, so the AI adapts accordingly. As a player who likes to drive RWD or FWD, you have to worry about losing every seasonal event on average just because you don’t participate in the AWD meta. Every player has their own driving style and you should base your driving style accordingly instead of relying on the meta.
The AI does need some serious fixing. Because of it it cost me three games in a row.
Why are they swerving all over the road like a bunch of drunkards? Are the mimickign the worst drivers on Forza online? Like come on … this is supposed to be a top tier game …
