Great poll as always :+1:

I wonder what people understand under “car collection”? They play “catch’em all”? That car list is good? Or that you can jump in different type of cars? Probably all of that and something more. I didn’t vote for that cause IMO it stands for “collecting all the cars” and that is not what I care about.

IMO we are missing “is the game better than at launch” question. 3rd question was responsible for it?
And for “hours” there should be one more option between 8 and 16+ or 10+ instead of 16+, but that is just me being picky. I don’t expect you to change anything :wink:

I would say that FH5 is about the same as FH4 which, for me, was a smidge better than FH3. FH2 would be the worst of the series, and the first game is still the one I liked best.

Blind hope, just that tiny ray of light that maybe things will be better next time, which can’t actually go out for certain until FH6 arrives.

Unlike other devs I still think PG are capable as well, regardless of my many gripes with the past 2 entries PG are still the same PG that made FH1-3, perhaps it’s my mistake holding on to that too much though.

Location will be a big thing for me this time around, no offence to Mexico but I haven’t been enthused by it ever since I first knew FH5 was going to be set there, I just don’t think it’s a country most people would even give thought space to if they were asked where they’d most like a FH game to go.

the lack of engagement from the developers is seriously irritating, there’s no real comment about why they do what they do and why they don’t do what they don’t do (especially that of course, why they don’t fix basic bugs for years on end)

of course, this attitude to customers - comes across as contempt sometimes - is industry-standard, as ever noting Re-Logic/505 Games stands out as an example of how things should be done

I really hated the whole setup for racing in it - scramble to the next town, do three races, repeat. Always it seems including that one race to the airstrip where the AI just blatantly ignored the checkpoints. I didn’t care for the map. And I think I hated the bucket list challenges?

Still trying to check in with the forum hoping for some positives related to the game, but it just seems to continue to degrade.

I guess my question is: how many different surveys, from how many different sources, across how many different platforms do we currently need to confirm (IMO) that the majority of the player base is dissatisfied with the state of the game & that the latest series & round of issues that has crippled it further have reduced it to a virtual dumpster fire that has caused a mass exodus of formerly loyal players?

Best thing PG have done in FH5 is getting wheels to actually work right. Other than that it’s a big disappointment. FH3 remains the best in the series. Want that to change? Bring back championships, lose the Ken & Barbie Dress-up Dance Party rubbish and concentrate on making racing great again.

I selected no for that question. I am somewhat interested in FM8 because it’s managed by a different studio than FH, but we’ll see.

T10 manage Motorsport directly, they also do the support for Horizon, the two aren’t that far apart - think that’s the set-up.

I do like the game, I haven’t said that too often, but I do. I’m not in that cycle of things above, I simply don’t do what isn’t working for me. I only moan if I think something could be and should be better when it’s something that I think is worth it.

Horizon 5 is fun, basically works, there’s stuff to do, things to collect. Yes, it’s imperfect, there are bugs, et cetera, but it is a good game.

I just want it to be a great game.

For me-
Hall of Fame leaderboard is now not available.

Rivals not available to me in normal or playlist.

Hot wheels not available bar when it decides to kick me up to it once in a blue moon.

FH4 brought players together , the sense of community was lost after that for what in FH5?

All the broken stuff does not help moral of anyone hoping the chiefs get their finger out to fix it while every player dies slowly chasing the dangling carrot :carrot: of hope in that it gets better.

The fact that neither custom single player races vs ai or custom PvP with friends was listed in “Why do you play this game?” makes me very, very sad.

I’m not sure if I should be upset with you or upset with PGG for nurturing this state of affairs where those two things are considered tertiary game modes. They’re certainly aspects of the game that have been aggressively ignored by PGG for two iterations straight.

Lol, likewise I’m very sad (well not really lol) that everyone seems to be reviewing my poll opposed to the game. In my defense I can only specify 20 options. I had to delete/merge over a dozen other choices. In saying that wouldn’t custom single player races fall under Event Lab?

I guess so? When I hear eventlab I think about sifting through the garbage trying to find the gems that people created, or making my own custom tracks attempting to live up to my own personal high standard. A great side activity but not the reason why I sit down for a night to play.

I guess a custom restriction race on a standard track is still technically eventlab (even if the experience is gutted without the inclusion of custom championships).

Thanks @anonyyymous for the polls/thread. Yours are a lot more thorough and well thought out than any poll Microsoft/playground puts out. Of course, Max’s are good to.

Too many missing cars despite liking the car roster. Too bad it seems Horizon 5 is winding down. Horizon 4 was a way of life for 3 years.

It’s a struggle to find good ones. There are a few users who post their creations on IG/Reddit, but beyond that, sifting through the trash challenges is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

The thing about the drivatars and difficulty is a bit complex. Yes they can be overpowered in specific conditions. Yes they can take corners without oversteering. Yes they can accelerate like crazy.(higher difficulty they accelerate even faster regardless of class restrictions). Yes when driving on wet roads they act like the roads arent wet. Yes they can have insane downforce. Even a peel p50 thats really difficult to handle by an actual player. For the AI is like the easiest most relaxed drive ever. But they can also be really bad.

The tracks often have these false breaking points where you can take advantage of the AI. They will always brake to take a perfect corner and you can take advantage of that. Not only that we can also create insanely fast and grippy builds and cut corners and so on. So we have a lot of advantages over them as well. Players skill is also a huge factor.
And lets face it most players in this game suck at driving. There is a reason why this game was made as babyfied as possible.

In the lowest d class and s2 class they can be really insane. But at the same time not so much. In the previous playlist for the 10 year anniversary we had a race on the caldera mountain that required to use d class. And i was doing quite good… managed to reach second place within like 70 % of the track. But then another problem comes in:

The first place disparity. Something that happends often is that its super easy to get to second or third place. But might get really difficult to get to first place. You know that one AI that is well ahead of everyone else? That happens often. And it did happen to me during that D class dirt race.

So i couldnt finish first… There was no way i could beat it in my no tuned D class. Also what is it with the mentality of: first or nothing? Part of it i think is caused by poor game design but anyways…

Anytihng between D class and S2 can be really easy to beat. I play on expert btw. But s2 can be another beast. But also there are some exceptions here as well.

I could reach first place in expert s2 class untuned car. But if i crash once or twice or not take corner properly its over for me. Also as i said above there are ways for you to cheat over the AI as well. And a lot of the things i described about how crazy the AI is apply 100% to s2 and it is most noticable in S2 Class !!!

The AI is either too bad or too opi. And when i mean opi its usually that one AI car in first place
causing most frustration. Also it depends on the track and if its raining.

Early on when the game launched there was this forzathon challenge and i had to download a tune for my car so i can win this race. The race ended up being on a wet track. And i was driving with either slick or drag tires. And i was getting really frustrated when i would spin every corner and yet the AI wound never spin out.

I would assume if im running slick or drag tires that the AI is going to run slick and Drag aswell. I would assume that if im spinning out BECAUSE ITS WET then the AI should also spin out . Well both fair points. Most certainly now i wouldnt just run a high powered s1 build with drag/slick tires on the wet. But the AI is at fault as well.

Some say AI sucks, some say AI too crazy. Well its both. And the biggest problem i see is that the AI just obeys on some completely different rules.
And how about Drag racing against the AI? Higher difficulty means the AI is going to accelerate faster and faster. Where as you can only upgrade your car to a certain degree. And the AI goes waaay beyond that. Unless u got a friend to race against then drag racing becomes pointless.
I could build a drag car and win easily in highly skilled but then on unbeatble im going to finish last. How does that make sense?

PGG have specialized in open world semi arcade, semi simulator car games for over a decade and remained at the top of the genre for most of this time. If I said the same about any other game would you think AI would behalf this poorly? I honestly feel embarrassed for them and I had no part in it :joy:
