This is my third post voicing an opinion about something related to FH2 and the last two either got immediately deleted or never got posted for some reason. nevertheless I’m trying again because i’m stubborn like that. I bought the “It’s a Lottery” perk at lvl 5, since then I have gotten 6 cars and a few times have landed on large money pots, but from level 20 to level 45 (which I am currently) I have not won a single cash prize above 20k and not a single car reward. Meaning that over 25 levels I have been rewarded less than 200K and not a single vehicle. This leveling reward system has the potential to be one of the best rewards systems by making one change, that is to have each progressing level remove the lesser rewards from the lottery. This way, there is actual Reward progression, so the situation I’m in isn’t possible, this would also allow lower level lotteries to gain big prizes, but would not have higher level lotteries win 4,250 CR (which happens to me more often than any other prize). It almost feels like a slap in the face to level up to 100 and find your rewards is 12,000. I understand that nearly every aspect and task in the game offer rewards, but this level progression, I feel thisis a weak point, and quite contrasts to the satisfaction the rest of the games progression brings. I feel that as to my last 2 post regarding FH2, that this is likely a waste of my time to make, and though I would very much like to see it be changed, I know that it will very likely not change.
I’m at level 205 after two weeks of playing and I’ve had my share of back-to-back 3,000cr wheelspins but I have also hit much larger credit amounts with some regularity and have 50 - 60 cars from wheelspins as well.
I have to agree I’m not a big fan of the wheel spin. I’d rather have a consistent pay out like Forza Motorsport 5. I’d know what I getting and not leave it to a roll of the dice (okay, a spin of the wheel).
The idea of removing the lowest reward after each spin has some merit. I’d recommend replacing the removed one with a slightly better reward such as making it a 1,000CR more but now I’m getting into wish list territory. I just want to say I agree with initial post that the rewards for leveling up in the game need improving.
I like the wheel spin concept. I find that it keeps some random fun in the game, since you never know what you’ll get. Just like every day in life.
No one is going to get rich from wheelspins and they’re not meant to. It’s a random reward for leveling up, not some way of supplanting the rewards of actually playing the game and the enjoyment you get from the gameplay it takes to level up. Would it be nice to receive a five million credit payout or car? Certainly, but that’s not what we have to work with.
The economy in FM5 was wrecked by changes made in response to the furor over completely optional micro-transactions to the point that it was rendered entirely meaningless. Can we perhaps give the FH2 economy a chance before we start clamoring for change?
Actually… I like the wheel spins… When I realized VIP was not applied, I was able to bank the spins until it was fixed… I actually had fun doing about 10 spins in a row once VIP was fixed…
I don’t think it would fit in with Forza Motorsport, but I think it fits right in with the festival feel of Horizon!
I did the same lol and I won about 5 cars and at least 200,000 so far. I hit on the SLS and got the largest money prize a few times.
Your Post History shows six posts, all of which are visible on the forums.
Have a nice day.
I like the wheel spins.
I’ve gotten three or four cars from it, and I got 300,000 credits once.
I guess you just have bad luck.
Forza rewards give you plenty of credits for FH2.
Same money as FM5 and I have 21 millions credit unspend on FM5
So even if wheel spin pay low, reward will compensate it
It’s just a bit of fun.
You’d like to complain about the wheelspins; I’d like to complain about how petty your complaint is.
I agree the economy in FM 5 has issues. I own all the cars and have 12,000,000 CR.
I am glad Turn 10 is trying to improve the economy in Horizon 2. I hope it works. I admit in Horizon original, I don’t own all the cars. I worked to get 194. I didn’t buy any cars with tokens. It took me 104 hours of playing to get the credits needed. In FM 5 it seemed to easy to get the cars.
That being said, I’m not a big fan of randomness. I don’t mind some if it all works out in the end. If the wheel had 100 items on it and every time you leveled up you got one item and the item was removed from the wheel, you would have all 100 items after reaching level 100. Everybody would get the same rewards. The only thing that would change would be the order. After level 100 everyone would get the same reward. That kind of randomness seems more reasonable.
If everybody utlimately winds up with the same prizes after 100 spins, then the only thing that’s random is the order in which you receive the prizes. The anticipation of a great win (such as the Ford RS200 I got today) while the wheel is spinning is what makes it fun. And if we didn’t experience lame outcomes a lot of the time, then the big ones wouldn’t be as exciting.
If you spin five times in a row and win, say, 2,500 CR, it kind of sucks. But… if you get that Ford RS200 on the sixth spin, the previous losses make your prize much more exciting.
The fun of a random, chance spin is knowing that you could do really well… or really poorly. If the pool of outcomes is reduced with each spin, then you lose that “What if?” fun factor. You would know you’ll get your 50,000 CR and your RS200 (or whatever) and that it’s just a matter of time. And you’ll know that everybody else will win the exact same prizes by the time they’ve hit level 100 (or whatever the target level would be). Where’s the fun in that? The excitement? The suspense?
As it is now, it’s possible you’ll never get that 50,000 CR. Some unlucky people will repeatedly win low payouts.
That’s the whole point. That’s fun. You don’t know the outcome. It’s the appeal of a slot machine.
I could go on and on and on and on…
I’m really confused by this thread.
I know, its crazy that PG build this stunning game, with lots of cars, some free pretty much immediately, with tier reward cars AND forzas own reward program, then they slap you in the face and sometimes (at random) don’t give you what you want on ANOTHER free giveaway in game for doing a simple task!!! thats it, i’m sending my copy back and trading in my xbox one and buying a Dreamcast…
If there was a big payout people will complain that cars are too easy to earn, already with the launch, vip and reward cars ive seen countless people saying its too easy to gain cars, and now suddenly its not easy to gain credits or cars? It’s hard to please everyone unfortunately. This will encourage to work for credits, we can only work with what we got.
It’s certainly not an important complaint, and I certainly realize I have just had terrible terrible luck for the past 30 spins, but it is just a note and I understand it will never be changed, but it was nice to at least receive a static sum of bonus cash on FM5 after each level, I’m just finding myself in almost a grinding situation to break the 1million barrier doing back to back races where as on FM5 I relied quite often on the bonus payouts at the end of each level. And to all the trolls who did read the whole post, I realize it is a small issue as state in my draft, but as time goes on and as levels progress I am finding that the lack of good level payouts are hurting the size of my garage at this part of the game. I am 2 championships away from the finally and my garage contains 12 cars only 3 are over 100k and my bank is only 600k, I understand that this is just me whining that im poor, but I just like to point out that we were in a similar situation at the beginning of FM5 due to the high costs of cars, I am begging to grind old races and complete offhand tasks, I just they could have allowed the Lottery to be more progressive. so before you say my complaints are petty on a forum that allows users to voice their concerns, there is a post that is asking T10 to make the Volkswagen Beetle look better.
The forum allows us to voice our concerns. And our concerns about other concerns. I never suggested you shouldn’t be allowed to post (I think that’s along the lines of what you’re saying - if I’ve misinterpreted, I apologize). I’m also not saying your post is the only petty one. I find most complain-y posts to be self-centered and petty. Yours caught my eye, though, because the title of the thread suggested that a feature of the game - a feature I love - is somehow bad news. I wanted to see why someone would find such a large component of the game to be a fail.
I actually think the discussions spawned by your complaint are interesting. Like the suggestion that the spin should be a deterministic payout where the only random element is the order in which the payouts are paid out. That’s an interesting topic, and one I like debating.
But it doesn’t change my opinion that starting an entirely new thread to effectively say “Boo-hoo… this feature is bad because I’ve been unlucky,” is petty. You’re condemning a feature that many people enjoy simply because it hasn’t worked out for you.
I wonder if your opinion would change if you were to suddenly experience a run of good luck. Say, ten great spins in a row. Would the feature still be a bad one?
I’m currently level 38 and yet to get a good wheel spin reward. Does anyone know the best car or the highest credit amount we can hit? I actually like having to play more to get things, but it’s always fun to have that small chance of getting something awesome from a random reward.
If I recall correctly, I won 100,000 CR today, and Mr. European Narrator said it was the highest, most ultimatist, most amazing, most credit-y prize they have.
As for cars, I think it’s random. I hope it is. So far I’ve won a Ford RS200 and some kind of low-end grocery-hauling FWD hatchback so dull that I don’t even remember the manufacturer. So there you have two totally different types of cars as payouts.
I should note that, shortly into the game, I planned out the order in which I’d spend my Skill Points, and it was all about making a mad dash for the thing that increases chances of winning better prizes from a spin (an option that, obviously, everybody has). It took me a while, but I spent a lot of time just weaving through traffic and eventually got it.
I also saved up my spins so that I’d have them for after attaining my goal of getting the increased-luck-from-spins thing (the name of the things you get from spending Skill Points is getting away from me right now - but you know what I’m talking about, I hope).
I believe it’s 110,000. I got that amount today (2× for VIP) and got similar quote from narrator.
I personally love the wheel spin. Keeps it fun, fresh, and lighthearted.
