DeBerti Design Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Drift Truck (2018), S2, 907, AWD - 300K at AS - so not hard to get. Been using one though - set my PB with it 137,140 previously but still no joy in this event - guess I just suck at drifting…
It’s back to the old thing where the playlist is well over the 3 star limit (100K) but at least it got the daily done after 2 runs.
I normally run on ABS off, Steering - simulation, TCS on or off depending how I feel, Stability off and Manual shifting. It’s tricky on the wheel so I sometimes switch to a controller but nothing has worked so far with this one no matter what car I use.
The RA drift zones are more technical. Take it slower and work on getting the car at a higher angle, take the longer path through the outside of the corners, and drift the whole distance. The shorter and straighter you go the lower the score.
I use a controller, abs/tcs off, shifting M or MC. In RA 2nd or 3rd gear, faster zones in 4th.
It might just be a little change to get to the target.
Game took it to a 3rd race but I didn’t bother, Trailcat and Golf R users were idiots so I hope it ends up a double whammy for them, them losing the 3rd race (which given the above looks very likely) which results in them completely having their time wasted while also both losing to a 701PI car that they were both desperately trying to smash and bash out of checkpoints.
I personally think in a full 800 Trailcat you could just drive at 4/10 pace to beat a 701PI car but I guess I’m just not as intelligent as these people
Not done the Trial for a long time now but was always planning to do this one with a 701PI car given the original was the first time I ever attempted it, I was burnt out on the proper test because of testing a bunch of cars at 701PI beforehand, the ‘11 Ford Raptor was actually quickest over the 2 courses but just seemed more thematic doing it with a Tsuru using a Mexican Taxi livery it was the 2nd fastest anyway.
I guess that’s it for another 4 weeks for me unless any interesting restrictions are in the SC’s next series.
That’s the tactics I already use. take it slow, usually in 2nd gear, and try to get as many drifts in as possible. If I find myself heading straight out from a drift then it’s throttle back and start drifting again. Usually lots of short left right drifts in as short a track distance as possible. I know the good drifters can rack up the points with long continuous drifts but that’s if you’re good enough not to hit a rock or whatever that breaks your score count.
Same overall settings though I switch between wheel & controller at times.
Decided on something that I don’t normally do - go out of Horizon Life as I often find differences in the car during online racing with real players compared with driving (still in HL) but with AI cars. The exact same car often feels worse when racing with real players over AI. Not sure why they term them AI as they still haven’t learnt how to drive around cars after all these years and still just keep their programmed line and constantly just keep ramming you even just on the road on trundling around the map.
As this was a drift zone, the AI don’t come into play once you hit the start of the zone so it wasn’t gonna be a big problem. Still took a couple of runs out of HL but just squeaked those last few points before the end line though it was close with a few short drifts at the end. Even threw in a couple of long drift bits in the middle mixed with the normal short left right bits to finally get past the ridiculous total requirement. Seriously - 32K over the 3 star requirement !
Just the final dailies left to gold the season when I was sure it was gonna be a fail this time around for quite a long time now.
Good thing Donut Media didn’t win the vote as it contains the million point Cara Este so it’s spared us the Autumn thread being probably 300 posts long.
Nice one - couldn’t even get close. I think I managed about 789 K or thereabouts but 1M requirement for the playlist over the 500K for 3 stars was just ludicrous.
