I seem to have the opposite problem. I ran a simple CC in the VW B class for the treasure hunt & it was comical to see how the AIs rocketed off the line & left me like I was sitting still. I was able to catch them eventually but the clear difference with what is supposed to be equal PI was absurd.
I ran into the back of a car in the grid ahead of me like that once. Race started and it just sat there. I thought it was an inattentive Team Human but on reflection it could have been an AI.
I had Ai stop dead on the start line, and had to quickly swerve around it. Gears uphill Automatic… it’s OK not best.
The VW Beetle race was just not a fair race at all.
Weirdest one i had was a while ago on the stadium track.I hadn’t managed to catch the lone breakaway drivatar, and he was too far in front on the last lap for me to catch. But on the very last series of corners he just gave up and came to a stop on the track and gifted me the win ![]()
I have had AI seem to surrender in (circuit only ?) races a few times, never a full stop, but like they suddenly lost the top gear in the last stretch and made passing them easy for a photo-finish win.
EDIT : Hmm… I wonder if they have a scripted finishing time and after doing their best to stay ahead have to suddenly check their progress after the last checkpoint to “finish” at the “proper” time ?

That may be the case because when I tried three laps of the Hit Wheels Goliath against unbeatable drivatars, I managed to come third because when they were passing through the wind tunnel (or whatever it’s called) the cars in 4th and 5th slowed down just before the end of the tunnel, but I maintained the same pace and passed them. There’s no reason – as far as I can see – for the drivatars to suddenly slow at that point unless they’ve been told to do so.
Nice tune.
Review:
parts used: 9/10 - don’t know if rally susp and track width are necessary, sometimes you can use 10speed gearbox to lower PI, with IMO most optimal setup I had 10HP more and 20kg less
tune: 9/10 - (assuming you used sport gearbox) gears to long (either shorter final drive or use stock gearbox for extra 2PI),
usability in Trial: 8/10 - easy to drive, should be usable with A, but a little slow (Macan is like 3-5sec faster)
visibility of the tune: 2/10 - if you are going for “tuner ranks” I suggest to use cars that don’t need lowering class, cause there is no filter if you search for downgraded car, +1 point for post on forum and +1 for post on reddit ![]()
thank you: 6/10 - without your post I wouldn’t buy DBX (it looks really nice in purple
), -4 points cause I hate SUVs ![]()
Well… it works, kind of.
parts used: 8/10 - definitely missing more gears, did you use stock rear tire width?, there was a space for bigger rim size to get better power/weight ratio without lookin ridiculous
tune: 6/10 - use at least 7 speed gearbox and make 7th gear long (just for downhill), car suffers for snap oversteer
usability in championship: 8/10
overall: 7/10 - it works, but need some work (that snap oversteer was bad)
Hmm, neither a powerbuild, nor handlingbuild.
parts used: I would have used “sport rear wing” for extra 10PI,
and from powerbuild stock engine → 486HP@2289kg; powerbuild V8 → 471HP@2260kg; handling stock engine-> 356HP@2269kg; I would take handling one
tune: 7/10 - either gearbox with more gears or longer 7th, car understeers heavily ![]()
usability in championship: 7/10 - IMO for people that know what they are doing, too heavy to be a powerbuild, if I would want to use PB I would go for something older like IHI Scout
For both tracks PB is probably better, but tunes with offroad race can beat AI easily too. You just need to keep momentum ![]()
Huh, the “win a dirt race” task in the Desert Dingo was easier than I expected, even on Expert. Used manual and kept it in 3rd gear for the vast majority of the race I chose, and I managed to reel the AI in. Now for the treasure hunt, which seems like it’ll be a harder ask.
Dude, thank you for the feedback. The Colorado tune was my least favorite. The International tune and Bronco tune are definitely better than the Colorado. I started to play with it and build the tune. So I posted it up. I agree with your assessment.
My buggy tune I was based on my driving style. So if you are aggressive on turn in then it will definitely snap on you. The tune is fast though once you get used to it being so free. You literally don’t have to do much to initiate turn in and once it start to turn you need to dial out your steering inputs. On these lower PI cars the quicker you can get the front wheels straight the better off. I agree it’s not for everyone and does take some getting used too.
The DBX tune is just another “downgrade” tune that I tend to do. I have quite a few. Sometimes you can find a car that downgrades quite well. Most of the time not so much but it does make for a unique car. I have an Aston Martin Vantage A class tune that is very competitive in lobby street scene races. Thank again for you reply!
I’m curious. Review my Alumi. Search under tune name “TKR”.
edit: if it load as 701, install it again. I’m using one or two bigger size rear stock wheels.
I am not even this far. I am still trying to win a Cross Country Race in my A-Class Desert Dingo for the treasure hunt. But all I do is roll over in almost every single corner. Nice Hot Wheels Expansion sideeffect.
Gotta degrade it back to a D500 Class car again.
Sucks.
Tried the Titan in the Exocet and that was a massive mistake. It’s practically brought to a standstill in the pond you have to jump into early on, and by the time you recover the leader is uncatchable. I just kept getting into nametag range throughout the rest of the race, but despite driving about as cleanly as I could I wasn’t able to close on them. Hopefully the Alumni Craft has better luck.
Edit: MUCH better. I hate how there’s such a massive variation in how things like debris and water affect different cars, even when they’re in the same category. It can wind up dooming your race even if you drive it perfectly.
Drop the suspension all the way down, that way you stop rolling.
This
and also avoid tire width upgrades.
As for this series, quite enjoyed it. Completely forgot about co-op. Would have been fun. Might do the trial again this week.
Getting some folks to understand “already paid for” is apparently impossible too. And I know what you mean by the huge, mostly unused map. That desert to the west is threadbare. If this had been one of the older games, it would have been dotted with tons of dirt races.
Much agreement.
I did enjoy doing the Titan Co-op more than just against the ai, so that was a really good suggestion.
Well, I can see that over 50 people have used that tune. Anyone want to share how bad it was? I guess it was bad, cause there was only 1 Kudo
(I’m joking here, don’t eat me)
Not a technical reply at all.
Tried a rivals go on the Titan and did a 9.41 which would’ve been quicker with more track knowledge. Very easy to drive, almost uncrashable which is unusual for this class of vehicle. Not the quickest though.
In what sense? There are quicker cars? Tunes? Or just car itself?
You are using automatic?
