Escaping the Heat.

Worst sc I’ve seen in a long time. Great example of no play testing

not sure I’m with you there - what was wrong with it?

On co-op I had issues with crazy runaway drivatars. Like the trial, but even harder to catch in a hot hatch.

right

I did it solo, the robots were difficult to beat but it seemed to make sense, basically the highest-scoring car in the “offroad” stat was the one I used and it was definitely better-able to keep up, there wasn’t any running away, it was a big pack

Agreed… I had a much better go of it solo. But in co-op it was crazy town. Went 1-2 twice.

I had no problem with the CC co-op once I switched from the Golf to the Focus '09.

Like a lot of others here, I also audibly groaned when I saw Montana Trail was the start of the Trial. But luckily it wasn’t that hard of a series. Only went to three because a pair of Drivatars decided to merge their Peugeots together in front of me during the second race. But other than that, doing this series in my @CashlessPlains8 -tuned Fiat was a dream.

(Stripe job is private for now, might share it if there’s interest)

Dodge 2018 Challenger SRT Demon (SRT Stryker): 175 931 937

I know, I know… it’s not a Viper. But we’re getting into [redacted] and [redacted] territory. And they’re like… cousins, and stuff. I should come up with a demon vinyl group at some point, but here’s a snake. At least it’s thematic with my username.

Glad to hear it worked well for you! Your support is much appreciated!

I had the same problems with “Escaping The Heat” B700 Super Hot Hatch Cross Country Championship. I was thinking it was a very easy week. The Trial, Eventlabs, PR Stunts, Rally Adventure, Hot Wheels, “Pocket Pandemonium” D500 Microcar Madness Championship - all done very easily on first attempt.

Then I tried “Escaping The Heat” (solo) using the car recommended by a tuner - the 2011 Audi RS 3 Sportback. Total disaster. The AI kept overtaking me and I couldn’t catch them. Noticed I’d got a Golf with a good B700 tune so I switched to that. A bit better but still not good. Then switched to a 2008 Renault Megane R26 R which completed it without much of a struggle.

Then did the “Natural Habitat” A800 Dodge SRT Championship (solo) with a Durango which I’d never used before and, to my amazement, was very easy.

It didn’t seem to matter what car or pi I had the ai just drove away with it being cc

I tuned Durango for the first time this week, it’s actually pretty awesome

Just finished “escape the heat” and it wasn’t that bad. Yes, 1st drivatar was rapid on straights*.
Done in Co-op. I’ve finished first race in 2nd place (no chance to catch lead AI, next teammate was 4th, other two was a bit lower) and won second race (that one was easy to win + teammates annihilated each other on one of 1st corners, there was some quitting, so only me and one other player left).

*- I forgot to switch back to M+C (was using automatic in Trial, just chilling) and more importantly I didn’t have any car prepared for that event, so went with road tuned Golf R '21.

EDIT: I would like to apologise. Gave it few more tries in Co-op with tuned cars and it can get tricky + if you have bad teammates there is no way to save it.
PS. but that last run was great. 2 very competetive players + 1 not that slow + 2 backmarkers. It was a blast. Now I need to try Veloster, cause it was hauling butt.

I figured they’d get rid of the daily challenge to complete a Horizon tour since the weekly is now worth 8 points.

Yeah, in my runs there was usually one other competitive driver and then 3-4 folks in last or close to last. I’m usually able to carry a team (I’m no ace, but “highly skilled” drivatars are usually pushovers) but I was struggling to podium with the rabbits so far ahead.

In my experience the trial this week was easier, and that probably shouldn’t be the case.

Trial this week was easy, got 1st every race with my VW Rabbit but had to attempt twice due to getting matched with a team of players who couldn’t drive at all the first time. Really hate that part of the event where your team can drag you down and waste your time.

The pocket pandemonium championship is an awesome idea executed extremely poorly. The micro car madness car list is broken, we get a random sierra race car that does not belong there but it doesn’t have cars like the Toyota 800. Track selection and weather is awful, long road sprints in the rain with these cars and their old tires is terrible, should have been a lot more focus on tight circuits.

Otherwise nothing too onerous, just the standard annoyance of having to do weekly chores for a car.

Totally agree on this. Can’t stand the tedious “paint your car”, “Spend X on upgrades” , etc. especially as most will already have the car where they want it with tunes and paint jobs.
Waste of time with these pointless exercises.

The posts on the 3rd Seasonal made me cringe to see how the rest of the Season was easy but this one was singled out to be ridiculous.

I decided to eventually try it out and found that the usual happens. No need to win every race, just do them all and it magically gifts you the event.
I couldn’t be bothered to re-tune for this so just ran with an old tune to test it out.
Horizon Seasonal - “Escaping the Heat” - Renault Mégane R.S. (2018), B, 700, AWD ugrundy used - 2nd ; 4th ; 3rd - Won the championship in the end with a decent lead for some reason after this one run.
