Festival Playlist events and rewards Dec. 5-12 (Week 1 S41)

Hearing the treasure hunt is bugged for some people is a bummer, but I do appreciate them again offering FP instead of CR for the reward. I hope that continues.

I was messing around with that electric BMW in the monthy rival at Estadio Circuit … the ultimate driving machine that is not. But I learned Ive been doing something all wrong. Checked my settings and realized my steering was set to standard. Switched that to simulation and its infinitely better. I cant believe my dumb self been fighting a steering “assist” this whole time. Doh! Seriously, simulation is the way to go.

For the trial, I dropped an 18 Civic that starts at A 727 PI down to B class, and I love that thing. Now, its not the meta choice … the 74 Civic and especially the Integra are definitely stronger. But if the 18 Civic is better in any class other than B, I’ll eat my shoe. My project for the week was to get it into the 2:43s at Valle Del Rio Sprint … mission accomplished.

It can do 2:43.5xx … maybe better … but I was on one. My hairpin was bang on.

Its an impossible tune to search for because of the class drop, so I shared …

488 900 176 … “Valle Del Rio v2”

I used the stock rims which were neither the heaviest nor the lightest, so it can be even better. But I was quite happy doing 2:43.8, and it did well in the trial. Consistant 2:47s in the first trial race from the back row while being pretty conservative with it.

You should try the Civic in A on Rallies with max front/min rear aero.
Arguably the best FWD car aside from powerbuilds.

With the racing i6 swap etc. I was at 270mph on the main highway with the new Nismo Z. Do you want to explain more about what you were trying?

im using the racing 3.0L l6T with awd drive train, i rather awd cars thier easier to tune

Ok, mine didn’t have the body kit or any aero. Removing the rear stock wing also added a little to the top speed. Otherwise double check the gearing. It was pretty close to the standard Z but not exact. Both were awd too.

Also did a tune with the R3.0L I6T (great engine), AWD with front aero, stock rear, race tires. Handles nicely, was 267 mph on the highway test & made quick work of the Forzathon challenges.

So I added just the kit and was still at 270mph. Added the liberty walk rear wing and was at 257mph or so. I haven’t gone back to the standard Z for comparison with aero there.

Mostly straightforward, best teammate was easily the stock Civic user, I’d be happy enough doing 2:56 race time with that on Valle, and they were stone dead last after the 1st lap of AOM but ended up on 600pts, very likely the strongest teammate in a stock car I’ve ever had in a Trial.

Was planning to use my Prelude all week but other than the start/finish straight it would have been terrible on AOM, so went with my own tune for the S2000 CR instead.

Had a bunch of uses when I came on which I can only assume is for my '92 NSX tune from a previous Trial, good car + tune but not for this, you simply can’t build or tune either of the NSX’s to have anywhere near enough straight line oomph for the 1st half of Valle.

Yeah it’s a nice engine swap to have available. It’s provided some good times, and some challenging builds when trying to keep the PI down.

What happens when you get bored at the Winter Wonderland stadium :joy: (just wait for it…)

….

No worries. Yep, it’s always been that way.

 Like I said, no worries; that’s what the forum is for after all.

i figured it out

this spoiler gives better acceloration and handling, and the number shows it brings the speed up but when i go to tune the gears i noticed it droped by about 10mph maybe a bit more.

this one lowers acceloration handling and braking and but it doesnt affect speed at all

Oh yeah. :+1: Thanks for the heads up. After a couple runs, its definitely one of the better A class Ive built so far. Similar in performance to a Lotus Elise 99 I had. Top 200 at this Valle Del Rio Sprint in one run despite being seriously gapped at the start. Great pace once it gets going. I definitely need to put some time in this one.

I really like the '21 Flying Spur. Theres been a rash of having cool cars added with disappointing performance, but since this one starts off weighing as much as a full grown male white rhino, it’s as good or better than one could reasonably expect to be with a purist build in A class. And it drives well.

Cloverleaf Sprint in A class …

That’s ahead of some notable names in cars you’d expect to be faster, and close to some real notable names. And its a James May special … throw on a tuxedo and tune to the classical station. I think they did this one right … one of my favorite recent additions.

Shared the tune … 179 416 814 … I used the race suspension so it would feel good, rally tires, full weight reduction of course.

That’s with the W12?
Will try to match it with my V10.

Yeah its the W12. I looked through the shared tunes and some of the top players opted for the V10, so there may be something there. And the stock suspension may be the way to go as well. In terms of PI, race springs are kind of pricey and engine parts are rather cheap, at least with the W12.

Weekly challenge was better this time. Firstly having a new car unlocked by a Championship event was nice and then immediately having a good reason to use it.
I wish this will become a thing.
