This just reads like a massive misunderstanding on both ends. Ron seemingly took your response too far but you didn’t need to go in and do the same, saying he “deserves no respect”.
You guys are better than this, both of you. C’mon. In the end people can enjoy this game as they wish and nobody needs to attack anybody over it.
I made a post about the AI and how two different tunes worked. How the AI acted totally different throughout five different races. Never once mentioned gilles even remotely in the post. Even mentioned how throughout the races I was even able to outrun a few human players. Considering my base level of abilities in the game giving credit to the tuners. In the final race (considering differing AI levels this game throws out) we, the human players handily beat all the basically inept AI which played like AI on Tourist level. Except for one AI which outran the field to take first by a large margin.
@KnightOfRen8514 what is that term you use to describe these positive attackers?
Again I say, I never once said anything about or towards gilles to intimidate or intice him into the conversation. Yet he chose to enter into the conversation with his positive insult. Saying that I should consider it was probably only my skill level and not the equipment that I should blame.
Now how should I take that?
And that kind of posting is his modus operandi. He’s as bad as the old guy Anonyyymous ever was, maybe worse. And yet he continues on his abusive ways. With just enough side step to get away with it.
Yes, I could flag the post he made but I’m 100% sure max will say it wasn’t a personal attack. Well it most certainly was a full on personal attack. It was a conversation that didn’t even concern him. And he turned in personal by making it personal when openly points out my failings at skill in the game.
And that’s all I have to say on the subject. Nothing more will be posted from me. Anyone wants to discuss this more, I’m open to pm’s only. That doesn’t include you though gilles. I’m finished with you. UGRUNDY RULES!
I’ve run through this thread and come to my conclusion. Which is, why did Gilles show up here and bag on your driving ability? It’s also weird how he just randomly showed up almost 50 posts down the thread to reply.
Everyone can enjoy this game in their own way, and that’s okay. Gilles seems like more of the competitive racer type, while you seem to enjoy a more laid-back driving approach. Both of which are perfectly fine. No reason to fight over it.
I’d like to have @TheGillesMuller come back in here and clarify why he randomly came in and chose to bag on your driving ability seemingly unprovoked. Perhaps there was something I missed in my review of the thread.
I will not, however, say he is a “bad” or “abusive” poster. Both of you are good users of this forum and contribute well to the community. Gilles tends to make very good, competent posts and him and I have had some great discussions. We also agree on a lot of things. I’m curious to see what he says here.
@TonyKartRcr - thanks for the RWD tune. It goes well but the other drivers were in AWD so i got beaten but hey, i placed top 3 in both races
I think when i did auto upgrade and slapped on a quick tune on a build i done that it didn’t put lower profiles or the style of tyre you used on. It ended up being a 14 sec tune which is considerably slower than your tune. The thing is though that it had really good grip and cornering and didn’t once want to slide.
I assume you changed tyres and lowered profile to get more speed from engine (or something else) upgrades?
I can’t hardly go anywhere IRL without seeing a Mach-E pseudo Mustang. I’m happy but surprised that a stock one hasn’t been added but maybe that will come with the Mazdathon series.
I saw an e-[redacted] the other day with a cool looking Mustang GT with Dual exhaust directly behind it. I’ll give you all ONE guess as to which one sounded best!
I didn’t bag on his driving ability, I asked this…
Do you not think it is the level of the players you’re up against vs your own ability that is the biggest factor in beating/not beating them?
That is a general question, I was not saying anything about his own ability, I even clarified how I meant it after using myself as reference…
‘as an exaggeration I could take a great tune into a Trial with the 5 fastest drivers on here and finish 6th, then use a complete dud in a team of 6 year olds + new players and walk the same race by 10+ seconds’
‘results vs other humans should only be applicable if it involves someone you know the ability of + the subsequent gap between the 2 of you, in a Trial with randoms that isn’t likely to be present.’
‘Factoring in anything other than the parts you yourself have control over makes it likely your judgement will be clouded by your own personal bias.’
If I was being insulting I wouldn’t have elaborated.
He already said the same insult in this same thread to me, there’s nothing joking about it, he has some level of resentment for me being a good player + putting time into the game, and thus that must apply to many on here since there are plenty who top me in both ability + time played must it not?
It is either that or he didn’t mean it and it was pure petulance from him taking my comment completely the wrong way.
You only have to look at his post further up for more proof, nobody with any maturity would make a post like that, in fact this whole mess wouldn’t have even started if it had been someone who understands the concept of critical thinking.
Sorry @ziperrPL but under the circumstances I think we need to change the topic.
So one to next week…
“Trial: Seeing the Sights- A800 Decade of the 2010’s”
This is going to be wide open. Expect to unfortunately see Bone Shakers as it falls into this category…
I have come up with a tune that is completely unconventional and wicked fast. you guys are going to call me crazy… I guarantee no one will have a tune for this vehicle. Took me most of the weekend to tame this thing. I spent the day in open lobbies leaving people wondering how this thing is this fast.
“SC: Number 1 Rule-B700 Retro Saloons-Street”
Depending on the tracks the 88 M5 is a popular option for power builds.
I prefer the Sierra Cosworth.
“SC: The Little Things-C600 Classic Rally-Road. Surprised this is road courses but maybe the Forza Wiki site has it wrong.”
We have done this twice recently so if it’s on roads that would be a nice change of pace.
“RA SC: Nitty Gritty-B700 Honda-Road”
This has FWD written all over it.
“HW SC: Feel the Loops-S1 Porsche-Hazard”
Another good one with plenty of options to choose from.
Ah, I hadn’t considered the Bone Shaker. I’ve never had much luck tuning out the understeer for road racing.
Guess I’ll give it another shot.
I’m tuning the classic rally cars for road so hopefully it’s correct.
The 2021 Porsche 911 GT3 feels sublime to drive and already have a nice S1 tune for it. I’ll do some testing on the hazard courses to see how it feels.
Might need to make some suspension adjustments.
