Feedback Request: Forza Race Regulations penalty issue examples

I have a 64gb USB that I use to record every race. That way I can upload them to my YT channel and have evidence of any bad drivers. Replays would be better but until they fix them in game is all there is.

I’m be found if someone come into the side of you to slam into you if you are on the inside of a corner along side them, and you need to counter steer to control the impact… the victim generally gets the penalty. Guessing g the AI sees the counter steering and no lift and figures the guy on the inside is at fault.

Also when a car comes sailing back onto track( from being off track) out of nowhere and if you hit them just driving your line… (many times in Committed lines you cant do much maneuvering…. ) You get a nice fat 2-4 sec penalty. It’s demotivating and BS.

Also the DQ limit should be like 5 seconds of penalties!!

Enough with this, t10…just go play multiplayer and realize by yourself what is not working.

Also there is no incentive to race consistently clean because:

  • there is no reward, no leaderboards, no stats, nothing
  • matchmaking is wrong, you must match by sr first then skill
  • rookies start at S after 2 races. The rating is too generous. Reset the sr for everybody and make them start at C. Make them work for an S.
  • we need lobbies with minimum SR. May it be A at max. Let rhe rammers play the qualifiers lobbies for the rest of their life.

This is my contribution to the cause for free.

Ps: i forgot about the radar. Add a radar! Like the one in ACC. The spotters are quite useless.

You guys don’t know how your own penalty system works?

I believe the problem is the playerbase is too small for them to fill the races by Safety Rating, and it’s basically the first 23 in the lobby, regardless of rating, is who you’re racing.

ā€œAvoidable Contactā€

And the BMW involved in the incident didn’t recieve any penalty. In the end I managed to pass him and they were fighting so hard, I managed to finish in 2nd place, even with that bs penalty.

As for the questions you asked, you figure it out. You haven’t put enough attention to your own game and released it in a very buggy state while asking for 90$ for the digital deluxe premium whatever edition.

Why would I?

Edit: Just noticed that my rating dropped from A to B thanks to this incident. Thanks Turn10!

Look at «iracing», where every player gets a collision penalty. Thus, the players do not even think about touching each other. Just adapt it for Forza!

No videos but hopefully enough info below.

  1. Brake testing.
Often find the AI will on sight corners or at changes in elevation down the brakes on when you are close behind. If you put the full racing line on you can sometimes see where this is going to happen as the lines shows you need to slow down but you don’t. Obviously I’m not expecting a car to slam brakes on in this situation and get a penalty.

  2. Inside line on corner.
Have inside line on a corner and slightly in front on the AI. They turn in to you (seemingly not noticing you are there) and I get the penalty. Quite a few times where I will get the penalty when I’m in a straight line and the AI is turning in to me. Again seems the AI doesn’t see you.

  3. AI exciting pit lane
AI exits the pit lane and wants to get back to the racing line and crosses track to do this. Unfortunately you are on the racing line and going much faster. AI hits your and I get the penalty. They shouldn’t be crossing to the racing line like that especially when they are going slower

  4. Slower car in practice
Your pushing hard on the practice laps against AI and come up on a car going slower. Rather than them get out of the way to let you pass, as you would do in real racing they will cut you up, again because they have no awareness. Once again I get the penalty for their dangerous driving.

There’s more examples of this but mostly they seem from either the AI having zero awareness of you or they are fully intent on sticking to the racing line no matter how dangerous that is.

You can often at the start of the race get in a pack of AI cars with many collisions and no one gets a penalty but one so slight you don’t notice gives you a 1.5s penalty. There’s no logic to it.

AI never seen to get penalties no matter how much carnage they cause.

I think you wanted to post this under the request for AI behavior, that’s a different topic:

This topic is for race regulations and penalties.

The examples I have provided all relate to penalties. If you think this should be moved then please do but the OP doesn’t make it clear that AI caused penalties should be elsewhere.

That’s true, my bad.

No problem. Had to reread just to make sure I’d included what I meant to. Also far too easy to post things in the wrong place. Thanks for getting me to check!

  • Game mode: Builders Cup
  • Event name: Open Tour - A Class
  • Track name and specific corners: Suzuka (ā€œSā€ Curves/Turn 4)
  • Car model: Porsche 911 Turbo '93 (AI has AMG C63)
  • Your platform and game settings for Difficulty: Windows 10 (Windows Store), Level 8 AI/Expert
  • Steps to repeat the issue if possible: Have the AI turn into you somehow?
  • What you think the result should have been vs what the game ruled: I shouldn’t have been seen at fault even if it was only a warning. This same issue happens in multiplayer on the straights as seen in the OP’s linked thread.

I assume the penalty system uses the B pillar rule for saloon car racing? I mean :

If another car is on the inside at the turn-in point of a natural apex, and has it’s nose past the back of your door, you need to make space.
If the car is further back and on the inside, they need to back off or risk black flag, or stop-and-go penalty for contact (big penalty?).

I was knocked off the track by a car doing double the corner speed, after the apex.
I got 4 seconds.
They got 0.5 seconds.
IRL they would have been black flagged.

edit : I’d have the replay, but the game crashed to desktop when approaching a multi-car pile-up shortly after. There was a lot of physics happening when it crashed to desktop lol.

Starting from the back is an experience.

Analyzing my case, I can say that the penalties are not applied according to the event. In Maple Valley, I was looking for my opponent, he left the track and returned at low speed, close to the pit entrance. I overtook him with a slight graze, and he was spinning on the track. I received 4s of punishment. ā€œIt seems like the FRR only punished me because I didn’t brake.ā€ The FRR did not consider: 1 I was running on the recommended route. 2 And it was on the tangent of the route. 3 I was at the correct speed at that point on the track. The opponent at the time of the touch did not comply with these premises and was not punished. https://www.xbox.com/play/media/KSd23Mar9a

What is going on with the penalty system? Its got worse!
3 times tonight i got a 4 second plus penalty for someone hitting me.
One 4.5 for a lift through Eau Rouge to avoid someone spinning. (Avoidable contact apparently)
One 4 second for someone t boning me at Silverstone at becketts, them just missing the corner and cutting it completly.
Yet someone drives into you and gets a 0.5?!
What is going on? Whats the point in trying to not hit people then your penilized for being nudged into a spin and they drive off laughing on game chat?
Sort it friggin out or make it no penatlies free for all.

11/14/23 11:20pm cst(race start) s class catalunya gp race, second to last lap. Sorry no video but now that i know this exists ill be happy to clip my complaints. Final two corners are a wide sweeping right hand, small straight, and slightly sharper sweeping right, both high speed. At the penultimate corner im breathing down the neck of the car in front me, clean with no contact on either end. The car braked too late, slid wide and left the track all the way into the sand. This happened around the time i turned in. As im exiting the corner, both on track and on the racing line, the opponent pulls harshly back onto the racing line at sand trap speed. Despite my best efforts to stop consisting of basically nothing i can do except jam my pedal while i slide into this guy, we made contact, spun both of us and a third, and i received a 1 second penalty. Im currently under the impression that its pretty standard across the board in almost any situation (there is some exceptions, but im talking about clean cars near a racing line, not targeting) that it is the responsibility of the car entering the track to do so safely. I give room where i can but i cant cause a crash behind me because the guy in front might make a less than stellar decision in a bit. Hopefully this was descriptive enough to make up for the lack of video and justified enough to get consideration. I also feel this was a failure of the ghosting mechanic but different day…

During practise I was cut off by a player reentering the track from the grass. I tried to drift myself off track to avoid the collision, and the maneuver turned a full crash into some minor sparks. I was penalized heavily.

Following player did a perfect pit maneuver and slammed me into a wall. Only I was penalized, several seconds.

Unfortunately I don’t have time to track down more details. You really should either have a reporting system in-game or pay me to do this. I find about one game-breaking glitch for every hour of gameplay. It’s pretty demoralizing to waste my little free time on these glitches, not sure why I’m still playing. You shouldn’t be depending on your player base to beta test all these issues.
