So maybe I’m jumping the gun just a little bit but it looks like only the Open Class Tour Series has rolled over with the new update. I sure hope this is a sign of T10 leaving series in game to expand the career experience. Hopefully we get some one off and different style races added in soon (endurance, point to point/sprint, drag, etc)
It sure would be nice to get these FOMO car rewards added into the showroom after let’s say 3 or 4 months time too! I’m sure in a year or so people will get another crack at the R8 but for now those with the horrible save bug were absolutely scr…ed over.
They left it because AI needs fixing (they asking suggestions for it in forum) and not many could complete all.
They didn’t manage to make replacement series due to -
a. Huge Number of bugs to be fixed
b. Staff left the company or got fired due to disaster launch.
They were out of ideas
They forgot.
Fans will find it profound when they provide less content
You’re forgetting the most obvious reason which is that it’s how it’s intended.
The career is clearly very thin. It covers maybe a fifth of the cars at launch, and no actual racecars. It would make sense that they intend to add more later, because it seems to be this game’s whole energy. Adding more tracks later. Adding more cars later. Adding more quality of life upgrade later. Adding more forethought later. And probably adding more career later.
They have a monthly (or rather 6-weekly?) career series for which you get a time-gated reward car. That said, this “new” open series is basically a copy & paste from the previous open series except that there’s italian cars pictured whereas you can still take most (not all, mind you) cars from the respective PI-class. In summary I’d call this “lazy” and lackluster rather than “expanded”.
You’re saying that like it’s a bad thing. Open series are the only place you can bring any (subject to PI limit) car into career. And to me it’s the best way to level up and upgrade a car under the current (atrocious) system.
I phrased it like it’s a bad thing because you can in fact not bring any (subject to PI limit) car into career, e.g. there are TC and GT cars in A and S class but these were not available in the previous open series and while I haven’t tested yet they are most likely not available this time either. Where’s the “Motorsport” in the builder’s cup? Furthermore this open series is completely uninspired and the laziest single player design you could ask for.
I thought the original Open series had gone (German replaced with Italian, with a different prize car)?
The first featured tour was still available last night. Hopefully that is a permanent addition albeit the suggestion I have seen is that it will just be available to finish off for the first two weeks of this new update before being removed completely.
