Just under 2 days at best and under 5 days at worst for me, so assuming this is somewhat close to what it really is, I won’t actually miss pre access thanks to my terrible internet.
For the really desperate players out there who want a fast download (I’m limited to 30 Mbit/s ADSL myself after moving; I had 250 Mbit/s fiber before - and it was cheaper than what I have now) - there must be some business (with a fiber connection) in your area that could let you use their Internet for a quick download? Even for a small fee. Couldn’t hurt to ask.
This used to be a semi-viable alternative but in recent years with the importance of increased network security it’s quite difficult. The manager at my local Gamestop used to let me drop my laptop off for the day when I purchased a game digitally from them but in the last year he had to put a stop to it. A Sonic Drive-In about 4 miles away has free wifi with speeds that peak around 70Mb/s and that’s where I’ve been downloading some of the bigger titles like Doom or Infinite Warfare on PC. I can then go home and back the games up to an external for transfer to other PCs. I’ve seriously been contemplating yanking my computer monitor off my desk and hooking up my XB1 to the AC outlet in my truck for FM7.
Unfortunately Microsoft makes this impossible on PC because they encrypt the data to that specific install of Windows so it cannot be transferred to another PC. There are some guides on how to do it but I found only one method to work with about a 20% success rate.
Well the deferred pre-order payments have been taken in the last few hours so I’m hoping that the pre-load window open sooner rather than later…
As it seems with all things FM7 only time will tell…
Quick question, when will you be able to pre-download the game on your XBOX? I have pre-ordered the Ultimate edition.
All I see now is a 108,1mb file and 3x a 10mb file for the Car Pass, VIP Pass and Day 1 Car Pass…?

- digital users normally load the game inkl. D1 patch

I do hope they let you download early. Even though I’m on like a 70 meg service, I can never get the Xbox to work at more than about 15 or so and often slows down to under 10 for most of the download. I cant figure it out. I can do speed tests on every device in the house and get the full 70 or more, but cannot get the xbox to connect anywhere near those speeds…ever. If anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears.
The Xbox isn’t your problem, it’s the Microsoft servers.

can download pc version right now, I think place holder was already there and now it says install. I will try later.
Is there anything we have to do to predownload the game?
Not saying I don’t believe you … as I am on XBox and can’t see for myself. But I would love to have you come back later and confirm if you can actually install the game. I still can’t on XBox. If this was something that they’ve now turned on … I can’t imagine they would do so without an official announcement as this is the hottest topic anywhere right now with respect to the FM7 launch.

I expect pre loads to begin on September 26th. That is exactly one week before launch and pre loads for Horizon 3 began exactly one week before launch. The announcement for Horizon 3 pre loads was made on the same day as they began.

Anyone know the date we can begin to pre-load this?
So yesterday showed that I could install Forza 7 on my windows 10. It was like 4 things to download (I pre ordered ultimate version). Left it to download with my stunning speed of 200 kb/s. Found at night that Forza 7 game and vip signature was downloaded and that day 1 car pack and hoonigan pack is pending and also the supreme edition is also pending.
Is this what happened to you guys? I think it will take me around 2 weeks to download this game. Maybe more because I will need to use the internet to work and that means stop any downloads or I won’t be able to open any webpage.
I’m also downlading to my external hdd which is where I have 99 gb available for the game. Most Ubisoft games don’t work on external hdd, will it be a problem for Forza?
Anyway can’t wait to play this Forza 7 on PC. Forza Horizons 3 runs great with Ultra settings so I hope Forza 7 will behave the same.
