Hey guys/girls,
I just bought this game along with a g29 setup for my PC.
I’m currently level 3 and have been doing the events, blah blah…
The one thing I’ve noticed is that it seems like the other people in the server are all following the traffics laws, like they’re driving the speed limit and not cutting in and out of traffic or ever just punching it and racing down the road.
Are these people actually the server, or is it kind of just like a “ghost” of them?
I haven’t seen a single person actually racing on the street, just casually driving like a sunday driver.
Did you join an online session? Because you have to actively do it in the pause menu. Standard mode is offline with “Drivatars”, that is, AI copies of other people who play the game. Those don’t drive very fast on the road but they tend to ignore you (which leads to crashes) and sometimes they’ll push their cars beyond what you call “legal” speed, but not often.
These are so called “drivatars”. They steal names of real users, but are just AI. These AI models take something from real gamers “recorded” during online sessions, but are just AI. Some of those drivatars belong to users who never fired any Forza game. Their names are just stolen from for example list of your friends on Xbox…
Really? Guess you should tell Turn 10 about their drivatar system and all the recorded behaviors. Or check your source of information, and then come back and explain the way it really is.
I have done countless races on Goliath, often quite a few on the same day. This has been my observation, especially on longer races (5/6 laps):
There will be a couple of racers who will right on my rear the entire race. If I mess up, they will pass me, but nearly always I can catch up, especially in certain areas.
There will be several who run an average race.
There will nearly always be one that will be lapped somewhere late in lap 4 or early lap 5.
The Drivatars will nearly all be my friends, but there will be at least one who is not from my friends list (I don’t have all that many friends). Now here is the kicker for me. The results will vary greatly between races as to how each drivatar races. Sometimes Driver A will be the one on my rear the entire race, while the next race that same Drivatar A will be the racer I lap on lap 4/5. It is the same for each and every drivatar. There does not seem to be a recognizable pattern on which ones will be my close rivals in a given race or which one will be the one getting lapped, but doing enough races, each and every Drivatar will have a turn at being the close rival as well as a turn at which one gets lapped. All this being said, the two drivatars that stay close rarely seem to do much, if anything wrong while the drivatar in last place doesn’t seem to know how to drive. Further, it doesn’t seem to matter which class of cars I have chosen to drive. The races nearly always seem to give the same results: a couple of outstanding drivers, some average drivers and at least one terrible driver.
Thus, it has been my observation, on Goliath at least, that the abilities of the group of drivatars is predetermined, BUT the assignment of the drivatar NAME is random. This is why I do not believe the drivatar system is working as we have been told.
My observation: my wife and my daughter are on my Xbox one friends list. For over 2 years none of girls have ever opened any Forza game. ANY - even any demo. But they had their drivatars riding all around with me. How? Biga data? Cloud? [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]? Most probably the last one.
Additionally I have to beat their drivatars in FH3 every 4th drivatar that comes as “drivatar which is perfect for your line up”. Big data or big [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]? Judge yourself…
Finally, a month ago I started using their both accounts in FH3 just for testing something / trying other scenarios for the game. But what is important - even before I used my daughter’s account for the first time ever - I got her drivatar as part of my wife’s team in FH3… Once again the same question - how? Clouds on the sky have doanloaded driving behaviors of my 6 years old daughter and uploaded it to microsoft cloud?
So after all these explanation, I only can repeat/paraphrase myself:
These so called “drivatars” are just bit more sophisticated AI, but are just AI objects. They steal names of real users, and to build their AI behaviors take something from real gamers “recorded” during online sessions. Some of those drivatars belong to users who never fired any Forza game. Their names are just stolen from for example list of your friends on Xbox…
Just ask somebody who never played any Forza game to become your friend. Within few hours you will see his drivatar next to you…
