Never be fast as others, and its ok

I dont use TCS or certain other helps, me n my clubby try to drive as close to realistic as we can, Its wonderful to see the talented and fast drivers on the leaderboards, i try to keep up with their ghosts, learn their lines and evey now and then move up a little, but there is a point of diminishing to no returns, and thats ok.
ive been driving legally since i was 14, ime 47 now, and ive done the gamut of things you can do in cars and things most people would get arrested for doing with an 18 wheeler!
Point is, I enjoy the driving experience, and Forza Motorsport gives me the outlet i crave for speed, achievment and experiencing the great cars of the world.
as the worlds most craptastic race driver( i get buck fever) when in front, the heart pounding, pulse raising, sweaty experience is second to none.

Forza gets it, the devs get it, and a whole portion of the community get it,
I learn, and am learning everyday, and getting faster, HMR posted some tunes and i got faster, Thank you sir, the different tuning directiuons gave ideas that helped overall spesh the 787, i finally beat my clubby Tripracer in his car, in his own track and game!
T10…Bravo. even though i wont be fastest, i still win!

Forza 4 is a game. People play games to have fun. If you are having fun playing the game, the details are insignificant.

I did my first online racing today and all I can say is Wow. Some guy from Britain was killing everyone else and I got more DNF’s than anything else. I did finish once in 6th though. LOL.

One thing I had a problem with was I wanted to tune my car but couldn’t. It said you had to “download a tune”. I’m like, ha? When you play offline there is an opportunity before the race to tweak the car how you want it. While waiting for a race to start it doesn’t allow you to do that. Or I’m no understanding how. What does download a tune mean? If it means you have to have a predetermined tune for the car, that’s kind of hard. I guess you’d have to have a tune for that car for whatever course comes up. Or ones that fall into a certain category. Like tight, long, whatever. Or I just have to build my car better from the beginning.

I wanted to just change my final drive and make sure the camber settings were where I wanted them and the tire pressure too. But to no avail. How do you guys go about doing this?

And what is the best kind of a racing for an online beginner? I’m not a beginner driving wise, but I’m obviously not real fast either. I was racing “Circuit Racing” in C class.

Invictus, I agree with what you said too. I’ve had some fun in real cars. Not a lot compared to some, but a little. All on public roads, but this game is quite fun. Quite fun.

You can’t change your tune in the pre race menu. You have to make your changes before or have several tunes saved that you can switch to.
I started circuit racing in B class with tunes from the storefront, I found that to be the best for starting out. Hope this helps

Tune before, when? You mean offline in the upgrade shop? Thing is, I thought I noticed some things go back to zero. Well, one thing I noticed. It seems like if you change the final drive when you have a sport tranny, it always defaults back to stock before a race. The camber does seem to stay put and tire pressure.

Yeah in the upgrade shop. The tune should always stay the same, I dunno why your final drive is going back to default I’ve never had that happen before

Hey Guys, thanks for the posts, Brickbre4ker has it right, i spend hours offline to tune a car to a specific class, and track, Mugello iis my fave track for getting an all around tune, the track seems traction happy. find your track where “it” just seems to work right for ya. Ime bad about running a general tune for all my online fun, ive got certain cars that have an affinity for tight curvy tracks, lower horse and high agility, and then the power cars for tracks that have long straits, but power cars on curvy tracks, well no…
Try some of the online tunes, look up some leaderboard racers on the storefronts and see what they have. Dont sweat the learning curve, mine is long and unexciting, until i find a new way and BAM! i just got faster
Online, frankly i dont even podium very often, but i race clean, and i enjoy finding others who do to…winning is great, placing is good, thinking of my tuning while ime going, online, yeah, thats the chess game. finding that the tune you put on off line doesnt always work online, yeah its a bummer, open up a private lobby online, add AI and go, the tune, at least for me? is better suited.
I just started going to the Leaderboards and watching the replay some of the guys have, and then throw my hat in, and moving up a lil at a time, yeah, its satisfying,
stick with it, your gonna fly and then people will be eating your dust!
Peace

Brickbreaker, I’ll check it again. Hopefully it isn’t a glitch in my game. Maybe I was mistaken.

Good tips in here guys.
