Environment - track lights are always turned on (1977027)

Bug info: track lights are always turned on, even in noon, after noon, etc.


Device : xbox series x (possibly all devices are affected)
Mode: performance RT (possibly all modes are affected)
Game mode: free play - quick play

Isn’t that the case on every track?

No; but if you have any evidence, you can share it here.

It’s indeed the same for every track. Track lights are always “on” and but only emit light when the TOD switches to night mode (RTAO gets disabled, track texture is switched to a darker “night mode” & shadows are casted in cockpit view.

If lights on track is always turned on, then i think in night race its doubled, i need more lights, i still cant see anything. :rofl:

The tail and headlights are very bright on the dark horse i think.

Also, it would be great to be able to have an option to turn off track/stadium lights and also manually toggle our own headlights if we choose. Although I imagine the former option may introduce some complications.

That would be useful for a brake light meme… Just sayin.

In my game the lights are “on”, but the light casting is off. I should make a race that extends into the night, to see if I can get the “Laser Eye” effect.

I tried to modify the XML file to turn off those annoying streetlights on the track, but I wasn’t successful.
T10, please give us a streetlight switch! It’s not that hard. Some areas in the game without streetlights look so beautiful, but not long after, I run into those annoying streetlights again!

They need to rework the code that governs when track lights come on and off and when cars headlights come on/off. It’s really all over the place right now.
