Drivatars vs offline as of now?

Hey guys. I just got fm6 in the xbox sales. Digging it so far with nice visuals and acceptable handling for a noob like myself. Im racing currently on expert and am up to the 4th section of “career”. The cars up front often seem godlike and the drivers elsewhere brake in odd places and take sometimes erratic lines. Once in a while the top cars seem to have physics defying cars.
I read a few things saying offline is best for career because the ai behaves “better”.
Is this still true and if so, is it true for all game modes/races or only certain sections?
I also read showcases dont suffer the same ai issues but haven’t done one yet. Is this true also?
Cheers
From a not quite racing game noob but almost😊

Not sure about offline, but God mode drivatars are normal. Doesn’t happen every race but it does happen. When you pass them they go considerably slower afterwards.

Don’t recall showcases but those may be AI from the pre-drivatar era. If you see names instead of gamertags then that is the case. Wouldn’t surprise me if they drove in a predictable manner

Yes I have noticed what you describe. Thanks for your input.
Anyone else got anything to add? I cant remember where i read about offline vs online otherwise i would quote it.

There is no Drivatar vs AI.

FM6 only uses the Drivatar system.

Even the disc contains a pre-trained cache of data.

If you install the game and never go online, you would only play with the ‘old’ data from pre-release yes, but still Drivatar.

But as soon you update the game or just go online, the game will re-download an updated cache of Drivatar data.

That’s how it works.

When you’re XBox is ‘online’ all the time, FM6 will also look for updated or more specific data before every new race.

Interesting. So what was i seeing about peeps going offline for better ai? It was deffo forza 6. Was it wishfull thinking do u recon? At the time the threads seem to indicate something was going on. Personally I thought along the lines if your description but this was earlier in the games life. Maybe they were just seeing old data?

This is an example of what im talking about

Thats a link off google back to a thread here.

Already explained above (or at least tried) …

When you play offline the game can’t load the specific updated Drivatar cache for this track and your current car (class).

When there is not ‘enough’ data it will go back to the pre-trained Drivatar cache. But it’s still Drivatar data, no AI. That’s what I tried to explain.

And yes, since the pre-trained cache comes from real people, but those who may have played the game the way it actually was intended, there is a big big difference between the ‘old data’ and the ‘new online community data’ including rammers, crashers, blockers, cutters, etc …

I see, its just a terminology thing mixing it up before. So it is loading a pre-programmed “intelligence” when offline, it just happens to be the OG Drivatar data. From people as it were as opposed to traditional “AI”. I get ya.
I had a wuick go offline earlier. They do seem to drive a bit… tidier😊
