I’m not a good drifter and never really enjoyed it in any game. But in FH5 the drifting is much easier to get into and easier to learn to control. I’m Really having fun with drifting in this game. I’ve found a good setup on the drift cars with off road tires, rally suspension, and maximum power. Lots of fun and great for farming SP in the open ground too.
You do not need 3 stars in all chapters to get a car. All you need is 1 star in all chapters.
Would be more awsome if you could do it in a race also vut it only works in freeroam. Was gonna check if i got a better score in open drifting so 4wd first lap and then i stopped and tryed to change to rwd but it was a no go. So its pretty much useless
Turned off TC and SC and easily maxed three stars on everything. Some considerably over the required 3 star score.
Key as always is speed and drift like 4 you can bank a massive score on fast speed and drift - little drifts at low speed don’t accumulate enough scores.
Actually found it quite fun, pity it didn’t have a few more chapters.
Can anyone explain what the “story” narrative is meant to be? Have they just given up on any attempt for it to make sense anymore or did I miss something?
Actual drifting was fine. Cars were enjoyable and didn’t take too long.
Story much better on mute
Yeah, but at least the subtitles helped. The guy would start talking every time I reached another 100k drift score, so the text popping up showed me I’m making progress. ![]()
The only thing that stuck with me is hearing “BHP” repeatedly. I’ve taken the story as a way to experience drift setups with different grip, power, wheelbase., etc. Maybe players will find something they like and will try drifting it elsewhere.
Mute is definitely the best choice though it’s nothing as painful as listening to the narrative where they can’t remember the name of Bullitt.
The mountain drift at sunrise was actually pretty nice with the volume off. All of the flags and other horizon stuff are removed.
Thanks to you and the others, Aqua and Quad.
I got all, 3 star’d.
Better yet, I learned a bit more on this Drifting thing.
I actually started enjoying it more. It didn’t feel like a grind.
Have a Great Weekend.
Peace.
To be honest I find all the stories boring the constant wittering on by the narrators and unskip-able cut scenes , I just want to get on with whatever I’m supposed to be doing.
The drift club horizon story came out a few days ago and I was able to play it today.
I am not enjoying it, on a controller it is already a pain in the butt to drift. Now add you are being timed with ridiculously high points needed to get a star it is just not an enjoyable experience.
If I were to rate it 4/10.
As a casual player my input on the new story is to drop the points required by a bit 15-25k.
I didn’t have any issues greeting three stars on everything except the second one. Once I turned off ABS and traction control I went from only scoring around 200k to scoring almost 500k. So my suggestion to you would be to turn those assists off.
I had many issues myself, I loathe drifting - even more now, after these stories…
I turned off traction, stability, but left on abs and kept automatic gearbox…
It took a handful of tries on each, but I eventually got 3* on all.
It is not a natural way to drive and I don’t really enjoy sliding, unless its in a tuned rally monster ready to tear up a gravel stage,.
If you can’t 3 star everything in this drift club story then you need to practice drifting more as you have to be really really reallyyyyyyyyy bad (or new to drifting) not to be able to 3 star everything. Love it or hate it, give it another go and you will get better.
You get the car by one starring the last chapter. The one star levels are pretty attainable throughout.
Three starring everything gives you the seasonal points and an outfit and helmet. Before this becomes an issue for you think about why you want 3 stars. The yellow helmet? The yellow race suit? There’s other points available.
…
ABS doesn’t make much difference in drift but why keep auto? Change it to manual - you don’t need to be shifting gears all the time. Quite opposite - lock your car in 2nd or 3rd gear (depending on the car) and it’ll give you much easier control over it in drift.
Can’t drive manual with controller, way too irritating… drifting sucks enough, auto is more than enough ‘challenge’ for my liking.
The difference in skill levels is so much in this game that I’m starting to wonder if its too big for me. Every time they make a new feature people want 3 stars just because they should be able to because they paid and blah blah. But it makes it sooo boring and cookie cutter for people who do actually have some car control and want to be challenged.
You use manual gears, but you don’t actually need to change gear, you can stay in 2nd, or 3rd all the time.
Getting 3 stars was very easy with automatic transmission. The only thing that was feeling horrible was driving Mach-E under RWD but still easily doable.
ABS on but both TC and SC off.
