Does Turn 10 have any pride in their work?

Swerve/ Apak may have some good points - my responses have been based solely on my experience of the game.

There has been some good discussion within the thread as to what works for some and not for others - my point should have been that discussion is great - this is a discussion forum after all.

But starting a post with an arbitrary statement about how much pride or otherwise the developers can take from their work is not helpful. It’s eyecatching certainly but likely to end up down one road only, on the developers own forums.

There are plenty of posts about people’s perceived shortcomings in this edition of the game, whether it be lack of hoppers, rivals challenges or whatever. So some of this discussion could and probably should have been added to those existing threads - where it could have been discussed.

I guess I see way too many of these ultra negative posts and bite, more fool me.

Feel free to continue banging those drums, that’s it for me tonight, work in the morning.

Cheers

D

one thing some people know, turn 10 is limited in their decision making. some of these questionable decisions could be microsoft’s decision, like the loot crates. turn 10 does have some liberties, but I would not be surprised if 60% of the decisions for this series is being made by Microsoft.

Could be the same reason why BF2 have lootboxes in them - possibly the decision of the publisher, not the developer, to have them in the game.

Actually, a moderator joined the conversation midway through page 1.

Also, just to dispute your statement about loot crates, there are exactly 0 locked cars in loot crates.

I said absolutely nothing about loot crates.

When you select a locked car on the car collection screen one of the dot points that comes up states that the car is available in a Prize Crate. In fact I believe it is the first option it provides you. The loot boxes in F7 are called prize crates, ergo cars are locked in loot boxes.

Very happy to be wrong on this point however…

And yet somehow you’ve managed to play it for 7.5 days.

It must be nice to have so much spare time you can spend it playing a game you don’t really like.

Yeah, because on track the game is amazing. It’s everything around it that is the problem. The game has tiny quirks that were conscious decisions that make you just shake your head and ask why.

i get the impression that the devs were pressured by outside forces to release a more casualized game then they would’ve liked. also the release being rushed by a month led to a rotten first impression

My times improved instantly and that is the only proof I need. I’m not like a great racer or anything. I rate myself decent and tons of people are way faster than me but I have my moments and can hold my own. I’m way better than I was though with assists off but yea it took a long time and still I have much work to do to improve. You will be able to start accelerating out of the turn earlier with ABS off gaining more speed than you would with ABS on because you will be done braking earlier and not sliding down the track. Exit speed out of a turn is very important. This is Forza not real life and as far as Forza mechanics go ABS off is generally faster. The less driving aids in Forza that you use the faster you will be. That is a fact. I used to run with almost every assist on with F2-F5. In F6 I slowly turned them off one by one until I was comfortable and now I don’t even think about it. It just takes time and practice. Ghost lobby’s and leagues if they ever start them again is the place to learn without having to worry about getting wrecked or wrecking someone because you are not proficient yet. Do what you will, believe what you will.

I’d say Turn 10 have been swallowed whole by Microsoft’s machinations for them.

A stupid loot crate system that is now eviscerating Electronic Arts, being used as the face of the One X, last minute removals like VIP credits & assist bonuses to make crates seem more viable, no pit crew despite having them lovingly rendered in the E3 demo (Blood in the cup indeed), still only a few tracks with night & rain, still no hand placement of lights by the track (Fully lit traffic lights on Spa cast no glow on the ground).

Seriously…guys…you had it…just add more cars & tracks to Forza 6…YOU HAD IT!!!
