This message is to all the loyal Forza fans and Turn 10 as well.
First, I am not going to come on here and bash anyone including Turn 10. That serves no purpose at all. The reason for my post is to get a better understanding of the thoughts that go behind the current and future games.I think Forza 7 is the best looking Forza game to date and has the potential to be the best racing SIM period. Here are my thoughts on whats holding this game and Turn 10 back from being great
Removing features from past games that made the game move forward -Like Car Clubs, the ability to kick players and some kind of ranking system. No spectating features in this game at all.
Focus on the community. The great looking game will wear off after a while. No one will notice it . If you focus on the core aspect and get players wanting more, they will always play. Build the game with community driven features that bring players closer together around the world. The Leaderboards in Forza 6 was a GREAT idea as it broke it down by the World and the US. Bring that back
Removing Multi-Class hoppers. Honestly, this is the first Forza I played and I am already bored. Again, community driven features , like the leader-boards, clubs and such. This was a bad idea. Most people love this. Used both methods. This was not in Forza 6 to start and many people complained and it was added, why remove it?
My biggest concern- Be connected to the community. Be on the boards more. Where are the Forum leaders. Talk to your fans, hear the concerns they have and at least respond. It almost feels like Turn 10 does’t care, even though I know you do. Show your fans you care
Please remove these CREATES and MODS. This is a racing SIM, not Call Of Duty . It almost feels Arcadic
If you add everything to Forza 7 that was in Forza 4. Game over!!!
We love you Turn 10- We have been loyal to you for years. Connect with us.

I just want to know why people are only complaining about the mods now? They were in 6za, with the same loot crate mechanic of buying mod packs. Why are people only complaining about this now?
I dont think many people would call it a SIM anymore…if they ever did
Also there is supposed to more hoppers coming to multiplayer on Tuesday…so a few hours away…
You dont NEED to use the mods and crates unless you want to
You can completely ignore them if you want to
Some people like them
I’ll start buying them when i have more credits than i know what to do with like the previous forza games on xbone
I would accept simcade but not sim. Not by a longshot.
Racing simulations would not give you loot boxes for one, its one of the reasons of this I turned away from forza. I’m not made to work for the cars anymore, I purchased the game for my son he has done several races and has 450k credits.
In forza 2 through to forza 4 you had to grind a bit to get that better car, now forza just chucks them at you and its just garbage.
I don’t like the removal of bonuses from turning assists off and putting them behind loot crates. I hate loot crates because if they can be bought with real money, the game itself is usually changed to make them more enticing. They might not change much in Forza 7 or even be needed, but be put in to get us used to the idea of them, think they’re fine and then have them play a bigger role in a future Forza game.
If you don’t believe me or you’re skeptical look at what they did to the VIP system, only mass criticism and refunds made Turn 10 reverse the change.
Tell me about it mate! Removing the really great stuff from past games and adding stuff that nobody really asked for or cares for. Oh well.
I miss the changing mufflers after performing engine upgrades in FM2 and adding rear diffusers in addition to the front and rear Forza wing on regular cars. Not to mention how dramatically a car’s character would change between street, sport and race cams/exhaust upgrades.
I’m also starting to miss FM5’s FOV - since FM6/H3, things are starting to look tiny and zoomed out, especially as you pick up more speed. reminds me too much of FM4’s FOV.
Forza is not a sim, I think the sooner people stop trying to believe in something thats not real the more they will enjoy the game for what it is.
T10 do not make sim racers they do not even try to pretend they do, they make great racing style games with a wide selection of cars to collect and play with in a motorsport environment that appeal to a wide audience not a niche market.
I agree that Forza definitely isn’t a sim and people should stop expecting it to be. But some things seem strange to me, they have homolgation now (which is bad for career, kills a lot of fun of upgrading in my opinion) but no qualifying yet.
I think the Motorsport series could be a little more realistic and serious to differentiate it from the Horizon series. I finished FM2 yesterday and it seems like Turn 10 were trying much harder to have it on the sim side back then.
Gran Tusimo Sport, Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2 all get/will get a lot of sales so I don’t think it’s a niche market.
It doesn’t HAVE to be a sim to be a great Forza game. I don’t know why people keep dragging in the physics/motorsport aspect to justify shortcomings or the steps back the game takes along with forward ones with every new release.
It has issues, there’s no denying it. I’m sure even the developers are somewhat shaking their heads right now and planning a patch/fixes schedule. Majority of folks here (all have their own way of voicing concerns) have indeed raised legit concerns, myself included. It’s a matter of fixing things as opposed to being a matter of “well, sorry, it’s not a sim, so you’ll have to live with some of the glaring issues”.
I hope my comments are not taken out of context - I understand that Forza is not a training tool for real world racing but what I am eagerly anticipating is the level of quality, completeness and panache we’ve come to expect from previous FM games. That’s all.
No problems with mods and crates at all.
I use them to get more credits to buy more cars, why not. Forza Motorsport was never a real sim.
By the way, did you notice a super-cool new feature - in assists menu we can now increase race length.
I chose +1 level of laps amount and now have ~7-10 laps for normal tracks and 3 for Le Mans and Green Hell.
It’s awesome. I’m thinking to increase further and start making pit stops (since I use realistic settings)
I also don’t have a problem with lootcrates as it’s a way to get rid of you credits. As someone who has a couple 100 million credits (+a couple 100 wheelspins or whatever) in Forza 6 that would have been a decent feature.
But recently a friend sent me a video of him playing the GT Sport beta with a car design by him with yellow headlights etc, headlight flashing, indicators etc… all I had to answer him was a picture of my Leopard driver suit. Forza is having a huge standstill for years. I’m seriously considering buying a PS4 to turn back Forza.
I’ve been playing GT sport ( demo ) and while it is a much more focused on motorsport where as Forza is now heavily leaning towards arcade it does feel a little dull in the lower classes that said the physics are superb.
To me Forza is about the mix of Sim-Physics and Arcade gameplay, which is exactly what I want from this series.
E.g. not having Qualifyings is one of those Arcade things. Sure, it makes it a “lesser” Sim, but it also means I don`t have to go through Hotlaps when all I want to do is have a race.
Mods and Lootboxes are a fun little distraction, from an Arcade point of view they fit in.
For me Forza 7 moved in the right direction, mostly due to the Career and secondary systems like Homologation. Also in terms of physics.
I agree some community features need an upgrade now / shouldn`t have been cut down.
I 100% agree Turn10 need to adjust their communication to 2017 standards.
