Im going on a little rant here… Some of you out there may disagree with me, and thats fine. I also am aware that there are others out there who agree ENTIRELY. I only write this post with the hopes that Turn 10 understands the effects change can have on a customer who has been loyal since the original Forza. It was the single reason for me even purchasing an XBOX when the Playstation 2 was so popular.
Customers are creatures of habit. We all do business with different companies for different reasons and little changes always have rippling effects (some good/some bad). So many things have been changed in the overall product that I loved so much, for so many years, that it doesn’t even produce the same experience for me anymore. With the introduction of the Drivatar, the removal of the Auction House, the lack of tracks to race on, the lowered count of vehicles to purchase and unlock, and frustrating menu (or lack thereof) Im sad to say that I CAN NO LONGER RECOMMEND THIS GAME TO FRIENDS.
While the Drivatar seems like a great option or feature, the truth is that it has too many bugs and is too unpredictable to be used quite yet. It constantly smashes into people when racing and it doest even matter if you’re on a straight away and there are no other vehicles around. I could be in last place and if the AI is next to me it will still slam into me without any reason! Don’t get me wrong, this is a great concept but its not anywhere near perfect and the previous AI was something that everyone was fine with.
The fact that there isn’t an Auction House anymore just ruins the whole Forza experience for me personally. When I would advertise this game (yes “ADVERTISE”) I would always mention how it was more than just another racing game. It was a racing community. You had your Painters, Tuners, and Racers, and everyone had a place, or a role on a team. Now that you’ve taken away the ability to earn credits by doing any of these, there isn’t any reward for us doing these things for the community anymore which in turn IMPROVES THE GAME’S OVERALL EXPERIENCE. You know its true. Look at the lack of design content available now. Who’s going to spend hours of their day creating a masterpiece for people to apply to their vehicle when it isn’t going to further their progression in the game AT ALL???
And where oh where have all the tracks gone, where oh where could they be?.. Hmmmmm. I get it… The tracks data needed to be transferred to this new console right? So, with that being said, is this what we can expect from Turn 10 in the future? Incomplete software and excuses? The truth is that these other things that Ive listed can be fixed with updates and patches. The fact that THE GAME WAS RELEASED INCOMPLETE cannot.
All this to say that I personally feel a bit “jipped” (lol). I still have love for Turn 10, but now Ive been marked by this bad experience that Id really like to forget. I have over a grand invested into Forza 5 right now between wheels, stands, content, etc… All Id like is experience some of the Forza that I used to know and love so much. The Racing Experience is great as usual… but bring the community experience back.
