[Discussion] Were you Satisfied with the Contents of the Car Pass?

I think the packs were car heavy, there was 7 of them in every pack.

I don’t think they were heavy enough. Needs more 'Murican barges and Military vehicles. Maybe a tank whilst we’re there.

Careful guys, I’ve read rumors Forza 7 may be a service type game, meaning no 8, just content updates, which when you think about it, isn’t a bad idea.
New cars and tracks are the bulk of what can be done for racing titles.

Have you got a link to back up those claims, or is it a case of “my friend says this”.

I’m satisfied with the packs distributed so far, there’s been at least one car in each pack that i’ve been looking forward to drive which is a step up compared to the dlc packs released for fm6 and horizon2.

I was more than happy with the car pass, good lord look at some of these cars we got:

Aston Martin Vulcan
Pagani Hyuara BC
BMW M2
S14!!!!!!
RX-7 FC !!!!!!
R-31!!!!!
F-150 Trophy Truck
Honda S800
Aston Martin DB11
Nissan GTR LM !
!!!*! (I NEVER thought I would see that in a Forza)

The problem is the MAP of the game is absolutely awful in the context of a DRIVING game that should have interesting roads to drive on. Every open world game I play from Watch Dogs 2 to Ghost Recon wildlands have long winding roads and mountain passes to cruise on and yet an open world racing game by a AAA developer has the most boring roads of all…

Disappointed there wasn’t more classics in the game.or car packs. could of been more balanced

The car pass didnt disappoint, i just dont think its really worth half the price of the base game to get them. Theres really nothing that stood out to me, i really wouldnt have even been able to tell you what were in the packs to begin with honestly. So i probably wont be buying the car pass again as well as any type of expansion pass, I wouldnt have missed anything if i didn’t get these things.

As far as a complete dlc pass, i dont think this would ever happen. As it stands now they are contracturally obligated to release 1 car pack every month for six months and add 2 expansions within 12 months (i dont think they ever put a time frame on it).

The car pass is already a discounted price, it might not be financially viable to offer every pack for a discount. Every car takes a different amount of time to make as well as costs a different amount to license. Im sure these things as well as others factor into how they decide to release these packs.

Some cars are free, some are for car pass packs, some are for expansion packs and some are for post car pass packs. If people werent really buying the car pass or the expansions i dont think we’d see many free cars or post car pass packs. If they see theres still potential to make money on packs then im sure they would continue adding them.

At some point focus has to be put towards the next game. Forza motorsport 7 will likely include many of these new cars that have been added as well as others that will debut with the new title. They have stated that they are constantly building cars. As of now they have given themselves the flexibility to continue support if needed on the current game or keep the cars for the release of the next game.

Was fine for me,money I did not waste on fast food,so was healthy too!!

First all of thanks for all your information and the breakdown. I’m sure that took some time.

I’ll admit I am satisfied with the car pass. Not beaming with joy at the purchase, just satisfied and that’s not a bad thing. It’s actually the first car pass I have bought for a Forza title and that’s because the Horizon series has good DLC packs imo. If I was basing my decision from the more recent Motorsport series car pass DLC (FM5 & 6) then I wouldn’t have purchased the pass.

There are some blockbuster cars of the past year or so (AMG GT R, Huayra BC, M2, Viper ACR, M4 GTS, Civic Type R, NSX, DB11, Camaro ZL1) and some cars that I hadn’t truly seen much of that I think are brilliant fun (Talbot Sunbeam, Skyline R31, Nismo LM, HSV GTSR, Jeep CJ-5).

Satisfied but I agree with Eduardo on his point about the PI system. The cars I enjoy but the PI system writes some of those cars off and you can’t fully tap into the upgrade potential of them. Or in the case of the Viper ACR, they just end up in PI limbo.

im happy with the cars and DLC. allot isn’t my taste and some is. im used to it by now so complaining about a car in a DLC have no meaning to me.

as others have said. my biggest gripe about this game is the PI system and sound for some cars. that kills some of the enjoyment.
But it helps to play with friends and not AI’s… though some friends drive like them… lol

I don’t know about the DLC maybe its ok I guess but aren’t you tired of the amount of super and exotic cars? In the real world you can hardly afford 2 or 3. If FH was real most of the cars you would see would be affordable ones to the common person. Do you really put a Ferrari or Lamborghini in a race? Doubtful… Anyway I’m not saying they shouldn’t be in the game but come on 10+ of each, I’m a bit tired. Arcade racing games use to focus on more down to earth cars with only a few exotics. It is also true that there weren’t that many a few decades ago.

[Mod Edit - Not a wish list - D]

We have a few but not that many specially recent ones:
Vauxhall Astra
Vauxhall Corsa
Civic TypeR
Volvo S60
Abarth 500
Mazda 3
Mini Cooper
etc…

But if you make a comparison you have a lot more exotic and super cars in my opinion. Maybe that’s what sells so what to do…

I like most of the cars, i love the Vulcan and the Bentley. Also the recent Jaguar just added. I feel like the BC (pagini) was a little slow though. I feel like the could have added more super cars, like the chiron.

I was satisfied. There were one or two decent cars that I have used a lot in every pack (Vulcan, M4 GTS, Supra etc), but overall each one of the packs themselves wasn’t great. They definitely got worse towards the end though, like this last pack wasn’t great. I appreciate that they go to a lot of effort to put these cars in, and that it takes 6 months to scan each car or something, but they could have listened to the community more, like the Abarth 124 and Zonda R etc.

I’ll be honest i hated almost every car pack that came out. Few had a car or two that i liked but other then that i was disappointed.

So I bought one pack and two cars and then got the whole carpass at the sale, so I paid about 10€ less as if I bought it right away. But still…I try to tell me that it was okay to buy it…but I am not really satisfied even with the discounts.

What really turns me mad is pricing…in comparison to older Forza titles there are less cars for more money. I really did look forward to buying packs in FM3 & FM4, and today it’s more like…oh theres a new pack out…so…I don’t know.
overall 5/10 for the carpass.

No, not even factoring in the lack of my own personal wish list car every month there was a sameness to the packs. I like BMW’s but enough is enough already, I’m not a fan of the skyline/GTR and I have no interest in old Australian cars. in no time in the previous editions of this game did we have native cars pushed on us so hard. there was a few nice surprises but not enough to justify the money spent. I consider it a lesson learned and next time will skip buying the car pass.

I don’t really care about the broken PI system as I often only drive the cars stock around the world and the PI really doesn’t matter as there’s no limit to events like in Motorsport.

The October Smoking Tire Car Pack was a good start for me as I really liked the Vulcan and quickly became a fan of the M2 just because of the sound and looks. After the launch of Blizzard Mountain I often drove the jeep acrosse the snow and pretty much enjoyed it.The Spano also became one of my favourites although I never heard about it before. The 340R, the Crown Victoria and the Huayra were cool additions although I really don’t use them much for driving.
good:

  • 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan
  • 2016 [Spania GTA] GTA Spano
  • 2016 BMW M2 Coupe
  • 1976 Jeep CJ-5 Renegade
    ok:
  • 2000 Lotus 340R
  • 2016 Pagani Huayra BC
  • 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

The November Alpinestars Car Pack was also pretty good with one of my favourite cars being the NSX. I enjoyed the Talbot later in the Snowpark as a little slidey monster. The Viper and the M4 were just a little bit to close to the models we already have in the game. And as I’m 17 I sadly could not do anything with it.
good:

  • 2017 Acura NSX
    ok:
  • 1998 Nissan Silvia K’s (S14)
  • 1990 Mazda Savannah RX-7
  • 1967 Ford Falcon XR GT
  • 1979 Talbot Lotus Sunbeam
    meh:
  • 2016 Dodge Viper ACR
  • 2016 BMW M4 GTS

The December Logitech G Car Pack was ok for me but the amg was like the m4 too close to a model we already had ingame. For me the Supra was a cool addition because one of my neighbours has got two of them.
good:

  • 2017 Jaguar F-PACE S
  • 1992 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo 2.0 GT
    ok:
  • 2014 Morgan 3 Wheeler
  • 1965 Pontiac GTO
  • 1996 HSV GTSR

meh:

  • 2015 Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept
  • 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT R

The January Rockstar Energy Car Pack was also good especially because of the RXC I immediately fell in love with.
good:

  • 2015 Radical RXC Turbo
    ok:
  • 2015 BMW i8
  • 1972 Ford Falcon XA GT-HO
  • 1987 Nissan Skyline GTS-R (R31)
  • 2014 Ford #11 Rockstar F-150 Trophy Truck
  • 2016 Bentley Bentayga
    meh:
  • 2015 Volvo V60 Polestar

The February Playseat Car Pack was another great pack because I never heard of the Renault but it felt very good to drive and especially the rear looked very good. The Civic was also on my wishlist so this was like a good balanced pack for me.
good:

  • 1990 Renault Alpine GTA Le Mans
  • 2016 Honda Civic Type R
    ok:
  • 1985 HDT VK Commodore Group A
  • 2017 Aston Martin DB11
  • 2016 Vauxhall Corsa VXR
  • 1970 Honda S800
    meh:
  • 2016 Cadillac ATS-V

The March Duracell Car Pack as a final car pass pack was actually also cool with the R33 LM as I love the R33 and Motorsport especially GT racing. The look of the 242 was also amazingly good.
good:

  • 1983 Volvo 242 Turbo Evolution

  • 1995 Nissan NISMO GT-R LM
    ok:

  • 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

  • 2015 Jaguar XES

  • 1992 Ford Falcon GT

  • 1959 BMW 507

  • 1972 Land Rover Series III

  • What was your favorite car pack? Why?
Tie between October and February as the Smoking tire car pack had the Vulcan and the Playseat car pack had the Renault Alpine and the Honda Civic

  • What was your least favorite car pack? Why?
Probably the January car pack because it had the worst car (V60) in my opinion (and without the Radical) had just ok cars

  • What was your favorite car? Why?
Renault Alpine GTA LM/Radical RXC Turbo because I never heard of them but they surpised me in a positive way

  • What was your least favorite car? Why?
Volvo V60 Polestar because it was just another version of the S60 we already had and was not like the M4 GTS/Viper ACR/AMG GT R a pumped up race-like version

  • Do you feel the value per monetary unit was in your favor? Why or why not?
probably yes as it was less money than if you purchase every single pack alone

  • Do you feel the price should be raised, lowered, or remain the same?
    less money’s always better

  • Would you like to see the Car Pass covered to include all future DLC packs, at a higher cost?
yes or at least have like a second car pass

First on the questions:

  • What was your favorite car pack? Why?
The November car pack was my favorite, the M4 GTS, the S14 and the Acura NSX and the RX-7 (which I rather liked as Honda, because although there isn’t much to non different I rather have the JDM Honda models than the Acuras, also the Integra and the RSX) were cars I hoped to make it in the game, well but the Ford was lame
The first one was nice too

  • What was your least favorite car pack? Why?
Hard to say, they all were okay, the first 2 were really good, but I deside on the January (with exception of the R31 Skyline, the BMW I8 and the Radical), the Bentley was boring, the Ford was meh (I don’t need no more offroad vehicles except for iconic ones like the Land Rover in the last pack was), the Falcon was lame also (the car packs in my opinion were generally too UK and Aussie biased imo, especially the fact that there are a lot of missing JDMs and European/German sedans, some of which had only needed to be ported over from FM6, also there were a lot of highly requested cars in general which would been better)

  • What was your favorite car? Why?
That’s hard to say, I name my favorite cars with no order:
Ford Crown Vic - iconic police cars, nice optical tuning possibilities
Acura NSX - a really nice sports car
BMW M4 GTS - great handling and fast
    Nissan Silvia S14a - iconic
Radical RSX - just sick, really sick
Nissan NISMO R33 GTR LM - nice race car

  • What was your least favorite car? Why?
the 60s and 70s Aussie cars - it would be nicer to replace them for more iconic and more requested US muscle cars (I myself love JDMs but can’t say anything against these iconic cars)
The Bentayarga, the F-Pace and the XE-S because they were really, really boring, and most people rarely drive SUVs

  • Do you feel the value per monetary unit was in your favor? Why or why not?
Well, overall yes, I would bought the packs and the Ultimate Edition anyways, so I saved money

  • Do you feel the price should be raised, lowered, or remain the same?
With this amount of cars it can stay the same, but I wouldn’t be disappointed if it would get lowered

  • Would you like to see the Car Pass covered to include all future DLC packs, at a higher cost?
That would be nice, or at least make it from October to September, 11 packs via 7 cars for like 40 euros,
Maybe even make 10 cars/pack, 11 packs in the car pass from October to September next year for 50 euros, discount in Ultimate and Deluxe Edition, maybe a Expansion+Car Pass for like 70 which would be included in Ultimate for 120 and only the Car Pass in Deluxe for 90 (VIP in both Editions and seperatly for 10-15 Euros)

I just wanted to add that I believe they ACED the Car Pass.

I loved Forza 6, but I found the Car Pass to be highly disappointing… crazy to say this as an avid fan but I am actually glad I skipped the FM6 Car Pass.

But, with FH3, they totally nailed it! I am very glad I got it! It seems like they really listened to users.
