Forza Motorsport 6 Car Pass: Was it a worthwhile purchase?

With the release of this month’s Car pack we now know all of the cars that are part of the Forza Motorsport 6 Car Pass. For reference those cars (sorted by year) are listed below :

And sorted by pack:

So now that we know all of the cars from the first 6 packs, and therefore the contents of the Car pass itself, now is a good time to ask: was it worth your money?

Obviously, everybody will have a different definition of value and worth but hopefully we can get a good discussion going.

Yes for me.

A resounding yes

like 90% worth it(:

Here is how I feel about the Car Pass personally.

I bought the Ultimate Edition as it gave me the opportunity to play Forza Motorsport 6 a week before its official release, plenty of time to get used to the game’s physics and be ready for Multiplayer Hopper racing.

The (discounted) Car Pass was part of the Ultimate Edition package and while I wasn’t looking to buy it as a standalone product I got it anyway and made use of it.

When I play a Forza title I don’t collect a large number of cars, nor do I buy cars simply to paint or drive them casually. I choose cars based on their competitiveness, as I am a competitively-minded Multiplayer racer. I also don’t compete in every class, although I do have cars for each just incase. Typically I end up with 4-5 cars per class in my garage, around 50 in total. Below are the cars that I ended up using on a regular basis, the rest I either tried out once/twice or didn’t use at all.

So that’s 4 cars out of a potential 42 that I have used regularly. There are a lot of good cars in the 6 packs and everybody has their tastes, but from my perspective I wasn’t interested in a large number of them. Additionally, all 4 of these cars can be replaced by cars from the base game in the classes I run at.

Overall, if I bought the Season Pass as a standalone item I wouldn’t have gotten much value out of it, and would have been better off buying individual cars instead. When it comes to the next Forza title I’ll likely avoid getting an Ultimate Edition or Season Pass, and if I find cars I like that can’t be beaten by base game content I’ll buy them individually.

For what it’s worth however I do appreciate the fact that every Car Pass car was a “new to Forza” addition and not simply a re-tread of content from previous games. That was a good decision by Turn 10.

Looking at Divisions, 31 models use 14 of the in-game Divisions, and the other 11 represent hypercars, track toys, open wheel, pre-war, and residential types.
16 of the 42 are race cars plus the Caparo which is kind of in between.

I have a general rule for judging the value of games - if I play for an hour or more per pound paid, then it was good value. My overall Forza 6 time is somewhere around 600 hours, so yes, well worth it for me!

Yep…I’ve played 171 hours of Forza 6, and spent $120, between the ultimate edition, and the Porsche pack. That means it’s cost me $0.70 per hour of play time, and the more I play, the lower that number will get. Absolutely worth it for me.

As for the car pass cars, some I use, some I don’t, but I’ve never felt like it was a waste.

Each car pack had at least 2 to 3 cars I liked and the price I paid for them is way less than the amount I spent (waste) on pub night once a month (cigar included). Measuring the time it provided me with fun in my daily " FM6 stress relief time " (compared to pub night), it remains money well spent. So yes, I think in general the packs were good and I’ll buy it next time again.

No, completely not worth it. I only use 3 cars total from all of the packs: C63, K 1:1, & 488 GTB. I didn’t find the Aztek stunt funny at all and I’m not interested in racers from the 30s that top out at 70mph. Maybe they should change it so that purchasing the car pass gets you six car packs and you can choose which 6 out of the 12 or so you want because I would’ve definitely skipped some of these.

Yes. I picked it up on sale (50% off I think). I like the added cars.

I’m a car collector / enthusiast so for me it sure was worth it but then I also don’t care at all if a car is a leaderboard car or not. Also, I’m an older driver with a well payed job so money doesn’t really matter to me. Used to be very different when I was a teenager though. So it’s everyone for himself to decide if it was worth it or not.

I retrospect I have to say there were maybe a bit too many prototype cars in the packs but some of them sure are a fun ride. I didn’t really try each of the cars yet but so far my favorite one has got to be the 1980 Lancia #31 Lancia Corse Beta Montecarlo Turbo. That thing drives and sounds fantastic.

This question is entirely subjective.

Reading the respective threads, it obviously seemed like many were upset that car x wasn’t in a certain pack. coughwheress14cough

There were many cars that satisfy many tastes, whether it’s the latest supercar on kids’ bedrooms or the occasional oddball.

I thought the packs were well balanced between street and race cars. There were a few awful choices but not enough to ruin it. I’m happy with it, but won’t purchase again. I’ve got 20+ cars still in “free” section that I have no interest in. It’s a good value even if u don’t use them all.

Definitely worth it, the diversity of the cars from past to present as well as the different disciplines is worth the money, I love trying out something new and being able to appreciate how the older racing disciplines have influenced modern day racing.

Also, the amount of content here for the money is great also, theres about or over 500 cars now in game, which is great considering what other games have to offer, not that they’re terrible in any way but Forza offers more choices in what kind of racing you want to partake in.

Obviously lots of hard work went into the 6th instalment and I speak for myself I’ve loved it so far and appreciate the hard work that T10, MS and Playground put into their titles

It wasn’t worth it for me pesonally but that’s the risk you take when purchasing the car pass. In the future I will wait and not purchase the whole pass, and only get the packs I want

For me it wasn’t worth it. I think I’ve tuned maybe 3 of the cars and I don’t think I use any of them in multiplayer maybe very rarely. I won’t get one next time and I won’t be getting an Ultimate edition again either.

It’s a no for me. I honestly don’t use a lot of the cars from the packs, I would use more if they were available in career since I don’t like online but a lot don’t have car classes so I have no need for them

As a whole, the Ultimate edition was not worth it for me, I could have lived without the car pass, VIP, and FnF pack. I really caved and just bought it for the early access so kudos to the Turn 10 marketing team lol I’m not trying to complain just my own opinion
