Forza Motorsport 6 Car Pass: Was it a worthwhile purchase?

I dont like the fact that the packs went from 10 cars to 7 and most likely we will see 2 more 7 car packs which will be seperate from the car pass. When you add the 4 unicorns to the 2 new packs thats the 18 cars we would be missing. As far as worth it or not i dont think vip is worth anything, no one cares if you have a vip sign near your name and we dont get any special rival events or anything anymore. As far as the car pass goes for me i dont feel as though i have a choice because the game wouldnt feel complete if i was missing all those cars. I guess if you have the extra cash the pass is worth it if you like the cars but with the spring deals coming up itd make sense to wait to buy it.

Not for me , most of the car packs were just disappointing . There was maybe 3 or 4 cars i even cared about. Im not getting the car pass next time or even vip , not worth it for either one in my opinion. I think it would be better to wait and if the off chance theres a good car in the pack ill buy it separately instead of paying for a bunch of cars i dont like. Besides that the 7 instead of the usual 10 seems like a rip off too

Sure, got a pile of cars @ a discount.

Yes.

Lots of new cars to the series.

Lots of racecars/prototypes.

My only gripe is that they are not all fully incorporated into career.

But I will drive them all at some stage but have used quite a few of them already.

For me, YES! I love vintage road cars and I am a hard core Mopar fan so the Prowler and Fury blew me away. Other cars that I enjoy very much: '67 Sunbeam, '79 Opel Kadett, '73 Holden Monaro, '68 Opel GT, Cadillac limo, '73 Skyline GT-R, '69 Fiat Dino, '67 Mercedes Benz 280 SL, '34 Alfa Romeo P3, '67 Volvo GT, '63 Ferrari 250 LM, '69 Datsun 2000, '39 Mercedes W154, and a couple I missed.
The so called supercars do nothing for me and the race cars, while they may be cool, don’t excite all that much either but happy to see them for the gamers who enjoy that sort of thing.
Thank you Turn 10 for this great game!

For me im 50-60% satisfyingly happy with the season pass only because the new and vintage race cars, the 0ne:1 and the 488.all the other Vintage and newer cars are boring and useless to me,there were some good historic vintage cars but not my style and not in my garage.

Personally I’m an enthuasist, I I like my 50’s to 80’s cars and mixing it up with some oddballs and or underdogs is just a pleasure for me.

When I was a kid typical 1st car for new drivers were late 70’s early 80’s RWD car, Corolla and Kadett hit exactly there, those were actually few of the most popular cars around here at the time.
I also love to take the oddballs out. as my signature suggests I appriciate driver skill relatively high. So the worse car you are driving and still winning the more I appriciate you as a driver. Pontiac Aztek hit’s there very hard.
Also some cars that are somehow iconic, like “Christine” -58 Plymoulth Fury or just look great Mercedes 280 SL are tight up my alley

Overall I got 16 cars that I run regulary, and 20 cars that I have used more than once. and I was expecting around 20-25 so I’m not disapointed too much.

Cars that get 90% or more of their handling from aero don’t really appeal to me, so actual race cars were “waste” to me, but some people like them so I’m glad there was decent amout of those in there as well

Overall the packs weren’t “bad” and I got almost as many cars what I was expecting to get. So I’d say it was (just barely) worth it.

Absolutely, there is currently no racing game in this generation that can compare to Forza 6 quality. This car pass gave us cars that other race sims would cry for, so YES this pass was well worth it. If Forza 6 started another car pass I would happily buy that one too, given this positive track record.

Unlike Project CARS that forces you to buy typical Mustangs Corvettes and Rufs as dlc’s, these type of mainstream cars are not new to race sims and should be included in base game imo, I believe Forza understands that by giving us the most unique fun cars ever, included in this paid dlc content

A little off topic, but last night I purchased the Porsche pack. I did it mainly for the Virginia race track and some of the early Porsche models. However, I found some of the newer cars to be pretty cool as well. If Turn 10 keeps knocking out home runs like the car dlc and Porsche pack, a win, win for me.
Seems like they listen. We may not always get everything we want, but we do get some pretty cool stuff anyway.
By the way, for those of you on the fence about purchasing the Porsche pack, it is well worth the money.

I would have bought every car pass anyways, so for the sake of saving money it was worth it.

If there was a pack that I would have not bought individually (say, I could have afforded 5 of the 6 car packs), it would be the March pack simply because the only car I was excited about trying was the Mercedes.

Not really worth it for me. Most of the cars are still sitting in the free section and I havent claimed them. I like having access to any car in the game, so I got it with the ultimate edition, but think I may wait next time.

For me I dont really like the idea of the car packs at all. I think that new car packs should be reserved for new cars that come out after the game is released and shouldnt be used to milk more money out of the customer. They should concentrate paid dlc on tracks and more content for the game and then maybe after a year, add a new car pack with cars that have come out within the year the game was released.

But that wont happen and maybe I’m dreaming to think that’s possible.

The Porsche pack for me was well worth the money and have no regrets or issues with the way that was released considering the licensing, etc.

I agree with part of that and disagree with another.

I would like to see more track dlc done the FM5 way where is is free and fully incorporated into the game.

I don’t agree that car packs should just be for cars that come out after the game is released not that they should wait until the game has been out for a year.

My reasons are:

  1. The game is often dead for a lot of players by the 12 month point.
  2. No matter what you think is possible in the perfect world, in reality there are only so many cars that can make it for launch. There can be awesome cars not in at launch but which suit the game in some way. The Jag that has just been added is an example. Maybe they could not get a car to take photos of etc early enough to get it ready for launch. Maybe they just have to say “right we have hit the point where no more content that we start now will make it on disc so it will be dlc”. I would prefer they keep working on that content and release it for the current game rather than save those cars for the next game. All your suggestion really does it limits you to the cars available on disc and forces everyone to miss out on potential cars that could be added as monthly dlc.

100% worth it for me, just for the sound of that Jaguar XJR-9.

Same here although replace XJR-9 with Alfa Milano at which point I’m sure a lot of people will be scratching their heads…however

I used at least one car out of each pack extensively. I also really liked the variety and some of the race cars like the rx7 and cougar even though they don’t fall in classes I race frequently.

It was a good buy I think.

I bought the ultimate edition and tbh I feel as though it wasn’t worth it.

Yes it was.

The car pass was worth it for me for 3 simple reasons; every car was new to the series, they had great variety to them, and i got it on sale for $20. So 42 cars for 20 bucks was an excellent deal in my book. Each pack has at least 2 or 3 cars that i enjoy a lot too.
