After spending the last day or so reading through the DLC “clue” thread and now seeing that cars are quite off from everyone’s guesses, anyone have any thoughts?
Me, I’m really only stoked about the '65 GTO (my favorite year and I’m a IRL owner of one). Bummed that there’s no DeLorean yet lol. The Supra is acceptable due to its generation. The rest are meh…
I know they say people shouldn’t complain and be grateful for content. I’m sure they’re just appealing to a wider car audience - which the consideration of that is cool as a fellow car enthusiast. I’m simply just stating my opinion.
I bloody love it mate, especially the Morgan 3-Wheeler and *** SPOILER ALERT *** the Sunbeam Tiger (which might be my favourite car ever, if not for the Volvo 850R)
Morgan - useless competitively. Not expecting LB cars but this one will be a long way back.
Bentley sounds good but will struggle.
Merc I have not driven but I have driven the similar model and not impressed.
Supra/GTO/HSV - all add to a long list of similar cars. GTO will be useful as most old muscle can be useful but it brings nothing new in my opinion. Supra suffers from JDM syndrome in this game ie they do not get the go to engine swaps. HSV will do what other nearly modern muscle do.
Jag - I have not found a build/tune that makes it useful yet.
Barn find - I need to spend some time with it.
All cars awesome in the real world but this games PI system not kind to them.
The only one I have dicked around with yet is the GTO and it is great. Really solid C class and want to try out some other builds as well. But the vast amount of cars in this game is overwhelming. I still haven’t even had a chance to build and test all of the stuff I bought at black Friday. I probably won’t be able to get around to anything in this pack until I take some time off over the holidays. I tend to spend a lot of time with each car I deem a “keeper”. I could see myself spending a couple of days just messing around with several builds of the GTO.
My main disappointment so far, only having driven the GTO, Supra, and Morgan is that the Supra is stuck on monster truck status with the widebody and not much lower with the regular body options.
The Morgan is good for a laugh but probably won’t be competitive. The GTO is pretty good though.
Yeah, I was peeved about the Supra as well. When I first got the widebody, I though I’d just go and adjust settings to find the spring hight maxed. Only to find it at full drop and still sitting high…
The 65 gto is the only car I like in this pack. I would like to see more rods and customs added.I would like to see a real honest to god street rod at sometime…
GTS-R ugly but love it, GTO yes, morgan yea ok, supra yes, Sunbeam Tiger yes I used to have a sunbeam alpine conversion to a tiger with a 351, and rest of the cars not so much. Otherwise happy my Datsun roadster is in the game, and Corvette in game almost close to my 58’.
Thanks love GTOs though, still tri power? I got lucky my Grandfather had two 58s got them both for cheap off him. My father has the one that is still together which was the race car, and I have the other.
Mine has a .120 over 283 now a 301 tunnel ram should hopefully make over 500hp calculation said closer or over 600hp but I doubt that. Either way car weights as much as my old 240z wet it is 2300lbs.
Other than that my Grandfather in the 60s (both cars were originally fuelie cars) mine was already missing, but other one He traded for a four barrel setup back then.
Nothing here that I’d give a limb for in the real world, but also nothing that has me wondering why. . .other than why the GTO wasn’t in the game from launch.
EXP Speed 6 is my car of the moment. It’s still heavier than most supercars, but the weight shed from the Continental is noticeable. I don’t care whether or not it or any of the other cars are leaderboard material. . .it’s a nice cruiser that doesn’t embarrass itself on serpentine roads, and is a welcome interpretation of what Bentley next does with its design language.
The Mercedes GT-R is a close second. Like the M4 GTS relative to the M4, this is a much sharper instrument that would be difficult, if not impossible to replicate by tuning the base car.
Surprised by the F-Pace’s agility, but like the GS 350 F-Sport, it seems to be in no man’s land in that it has no competitive set stock. All of the other SUVs are far more powerful.
VS GTS-R is a bit loud stylistically for my liking, but I’m glad another iconic Australian car made the cut and that it bolsters the thin HSV ranks. The handling is quite good despite its age.
As my personal in-game project is a V8 Miata, there’s no way I wouldn’t love the Sunbeam. I don’t care what the leaderboards say: V8 + lightweight RWD roadster FTW.
Stupid question, but did they not update the wheelspins? I downloaded the update (1.4GB) and got the barnfind, and that’s the only new car. I did a 5 lapper Goliath with 20 wheelspins and nothing new on my end.
This is my favorite car pack yet, I don’t have a single complaint. And I couldn’t care less about the cars being competitive, I simply like the cars for what they are.
I can agree with this statement. Majority of my cars (being rods and classics) aren’t really built for racing. They’re not tuned out with 1,000hp V12’s pushing 250+ because that detracts from the feel of cars from their respective eras.
I do have some other cars as races require them but despite this being a racing game, it’s the one thing I find myself doing the least of lol. I am generally in the livery editor still learning how to use it effectively (reference my “Project” post in the Paint Booth), cruising, causing mischief, or doing challenges in offline/online, and perusing the AH (I WILL find you one day Chevelle 454 HE, mark my words lol).
I do enjoy the game as it is. I find the monthly car packs a nice concept for a racing game. It definitely adds variety and depth. Plus, like I said in my OP, allows more cars for broader audiences and driving styles.
Yeah, it’s still Tripower. It’s all still pretty much factory outside of the stereo and speakers. I had to update them for long cruises but the car is pretty much stock. I had to replace the engine (threw rod on a long road trip) but replaced it another 389 Tripower. In the swap, I did gain 5hp so now it has 360hp instead of 355 lol. I still have the original engine stored in a crate. It’s just torn down now. I plan to rebuild it one day. I need to get a hold of a couple people at Mercum so I get a line on some of the internals.
I’m disappointed in this one honestly. Believe me though, I absolutely love the Morgan 3-wheeler and such, however I don’t agree with the ugly looking Bentley concept. Idk, that’s just me but they really should’ve thought of another car to use
Usually I’m excited about at least one car, but this time I not really interested in any of them. I am sure a lot of people are pleased so enjoy the pack!
