Love the Jag and the Merc, only problem I’m having is the AMG GTR exhaust sounds poor, not as good as the GTS nowhere near enough crackles and bangs in comparison to the real thing
+1. first thing I noticed. I have heard and driven both so it was quite a disappointment when I heard it. The GTR should have abit sharper note and a hell of a lot more crackles!!!
I have a question since I can’t get to my Xbox right now… Which car is the “pack only” car?
- Bentley: Seems nice. Didn’t really drive it around a whole lot. The headlight detail though is done very well.
- HSV: I can’t get over how this thing looks like some kid’s car who thought the early Fast and Furious movies were documentaries. The irony that the car came out five years before the first movie did. Sounds and drives quite nice though. And as a note to the painters, you can’t paint over the GTSR decal and other badges.
- Jaguar: It’s alright.
- Mercedes: It’s pretty fun to drive.
- Morgan: The Arooga 1 horn makes this car. And looking at the seating arrangement, you better really like the person you travel with…
- Pontiac: Been waiting for this one. One of my favorite muscle cars, and certainly one of the best looking.
- Toyota: Like the GTO, I’ve been waiting for this one. Anyone else notice the widebody conversion raises the height of the car though? Like…what?
I’m not an LB hunter, so I don’t know how they’ll do on there, but the only two I think might be worth looking at are the GTO and the Barn Find.
I love love love the Morgan - very stylish and beautiful, and incredibly fun to drive. Maybe it’s not competitive for rivals/online, but so what? Neither are several dozen other cars that are already in the game - plus it really dominates its class in single-player races. First thing I did after downloading the car pack was taking it for a spin on the Woodland Circuit in its stock layout, and for the second race I increased the difficulty from highly skilled to unbeatable to have at least a bit of a challenge (first unbeatable race I won outside of unfairly set up Goliath grinding, yay!). I haven’t done much with tuning yet, but at full loadout with all parts installed it becomes a rocket, and quite a challenge to drive - I had to switch to rally tires to get some sorely needed grip back, in that config it’s pretty fun to drive.
I haven’t really tried any of the other cars yet, but the Morgan definitely made my day.
They didn’t put any exhaust pops in the amg gt r. The regular car sounds way better.
Edit- the F-pace is missing them too even tho the article clearly states that it has the burbles.
I don’t really keep up with them but as a long time GTA V player, I can live with or without them. I know the '17 NSX, which is one of my favorite “modern” cars, pops like every .5 seconds it feels like and is quite annoying.
My hope is at some point they start fixing the bugs.
Going 260 in the F-Pace is kind of funny.
It’s a little underwhelming. Nice to see the return of the '65 goat though.
I’ve always wanted a Dusenberg in a Forza game, so the Morgan3 feels kinda like a slap in the face
meh
Promised myself I wouldn’t write another 5 paragraph rant about complaint comments for when car packs include things they don’t want (but other people probably want). Going to be positive this time.
It’s different strokes for different folks, I can see which pickle each car tickles.
-The Bentley. I was surprised. Got into the car not knowing anything about it, it’s already feeling like a unique super car for me with that bit of extra weight to throw around but the 0-60 to back that up. Under-steers a little (as expected with AWD… it is AWD right?!) but above all I can totally see this being a keeper. I cleaned out my garage via auction house today (hit the auction limit and deleted the rest) and this was a car that I kept. Sucks that it only comes in one color, but hey, I like designing paint jobs anyways.
-The Morgan 3 wheeler looks like a fun drive. Will be interesting trying to build that, but for now I’m not in the mood for a car that’s purely a fun time (I do better with 4 wheels over 3). For people that just want interesting goofy racecars or hey, want an interesting “sleeper”, this is a go-to. I can totally see a custom race using this and the Reliant.
-The GTO. Was not expecting that but then it totally hit me in the face with the clue. I haven’t raced a GTO in a long time with video games in general. Oddly enough driving this car made me want to drive the other GTO judge ingame as well.
-I’m disappointed that the classic Supra didn’t make it into the trailer, as it shows it was not as important to developers as it was to me. I used this car frequently in older Japan racing titles on my PS2, so driving this brought me back some. It’s a keeper if you like classic JDM. I have to thank the Forza team here for adding this car so it doesn’t fade into obscurity.
-The Jaguar. I’ve been behind on my SUV tunes (and by behind I mean I haven’t built a single one), which is ironic because I advocated for competitive SUV builds in plenty of Forza 6 threads. This car looks like a fresh change from the URUS that has been sitting in my garage forever so it will be interesting to try.
-The Mercedes has a place in this game, but I haven’t even finished driving the similar model yet. Unfortunately this is one of those newer cars that could have been replaced with the iteration already there and I wouldn’t react differently. That said, I’m always one for more variety and this actually looks pretty speedy. I like beautiful cars and this is one of them.
-The barn find. Not going to say the name, but this was fun in Forza 6 and it’s fun now. The sound that goes along with it does not fit the compact appearance and I love it.
Above all else I am just pleased to see that these older vehicles are being remembered and probably will be appreciated by anyone curious enough to “try” them for the first time in this pack. Rather than writing them off as old and slow, the potential is there and so is the enjoyment, too. I’m an ambitious tuner. If a car isn’t competitive, well, I guess I just found an absolute to break. In FH2 I survived online rally races with a Buick GSX. True story. This time, it’s going to be a build of a “beach-comber” El Camino, in bright metal-flake teal and soon to be a wave design along the bed cover. And Forza keeps adding new things to build, and since I got the ultimate addition, this is no additional cost to me. The barn finds are cool, too. If this is a monthly thing until the DLCs end, I will be a happy camper regardless of what happens because any classic is okay by me.
First, I was not complaining. Simply expressing an opinion while asking others for theirs since the cars varied so much from the guessing the “clues”. Plus, I also previously stated my appreciation for the array of cars in the pack.
Second, nice post. Some well-balanced critiques. Nice write up
My bad.
Sorry for the misunderstanding, I was referring to comments on the thread (and the other DLC thread), not what you said. Just edited the post a bit.
It’s all good man. Just a simple misunderstanding
Don’t get me wrong, competitive racing is a big part of the game, but sometimes when I see people focusing so much on it in my opinion I feel they’re “overthinking” it. Yeah, the Morgan might be useless in races, but I feel that isn’t why they put the car in, similar to the Reliant Regal. Sometimes I feel we forget there is a free drive mode that exists outside of competition. Yeah, I agree with a couple of the other posters here, sometimes it’s just about the thrill of driving, period.
On another note, I noticed another that doesn’t appear to be available for purchase from the Auto Show has once again appeared if you look at the Horizon Promo checklist: A Bentley Continental GT3 race car. I don’t care much about having one, but I have been trying to snap a photo of one for Promo. I have been driving around and entering events with Extreme Track Toys type of cars because that is what I am assuming is the championship it is in and hoping I can get one to spawn. So far, no luck.

I believe that’s a forzathon car.

Just set your event to Bentley only.
I used a Bentley Continental GT Speed upgraded to R2.
You can get the Bentley Continental GT Speed in the Skill shop.
Or just use the Bentley EXP 10 SPEED 6 from the last car pack.
Dissapointed that u can’t swap the JLR 5.0S V8 into the F Pace. Also a bit disappointed by the noise of the Merc GT R. I think it sounds allot better in real life
I’ve only driven the HSV GTS-R so far and it’s rubbish. Handling is good but there’s just no power behind it. I did 5 laps of Goliath in A/800 spec, setup for handling over speed and could only do a 13:05 with a top speed of 270km/h on downhill sections. On flat sections it was lucky to hit 250km/h and it took a long time to get there. I do the same to all cars I use and it is slower than the XY GTHO (a car 25 years older) by 20 seconds. It’s that slow that I don’t need to brake from when you hit the road after the start all the way up to the left hand bend before the hairpin.
