Car Pass Discussion

As in the past with Horizon, FH5 will add many cars with car pass.
And we will get all the currently known DLC cars next week.

What do you think about the content of this car pass?
And what kind of cars do you hope to be offered in future car passes?

Both positive and negative opinions are welcome.
Let’s discuss what you think about car pass.

My opinion until Series 3.

Positive feedback:

  • Many of the “new” models are all great.
Renault 8, Mercury Cyclone, Lamborghini Espada, Jaguar XJ13.
I love all of these cars, and they are models that I have always wanted to see added to Forza.

  • Everything is a new 3D model.
I didn’t hate it, but there was some controversial feedback from the community about the remastering of some of the Xbox 360 era models in the FH4 car pass.
On the other hand, all of the new content is new models created for FH5. This will please the players who were negative about the aforementioned content.

  • Audi.
I am not a fan of TT RS. However, Audi has been one of the brands that has been desired to add new models for many years.
The fact that they finally added a new model to the brand would have been great news for the fans of this brand.

Negative feedback:

  • One week, one drip feed content.
In FH4, we were given two cars a week. But this time, we only get one car a week.
The total number of cars included in the car pass has not changed, but having only one car per week is a bit boring.

  • There are too many variants of the existing model.
The same criticism was raised for the FH4 car pass, and they are doing the same thing this time.
Excluding Formula Drift, the car pass content is currently known to be 11 cars, 5 of which are variants of existing models.
Of course there’s plenty more content to come, but isn’t it a bit much to have half of the already known lineup be variants?

  • Brand and nationality bias in Series 2 and Series 3 contents.
Series 1 contents was good. JDM, Euro, Muscle. It had a well-balanced lineup of models from the three major regions.
But in Series 2, everything is Italian. Two Ferraris and a Lamborghini.
Series 3 had two Jaguars, an Audi, and another Ferrari.
Yes, of course I understand that Ferraris and Lamborghinis are very popular.
However, there is too much of a bias towards British and Italian cars and brands in this two months.
Hey PG, couldn’t you have distributed the content a little more balanced?

  • Huracan.
We already have many variants of the Huracan. Does PG want this car to be like the current gen Mustang in FH4?

My hope for the future is that there will be more unique models that are not variants of existing models, and that there will be more models that are rooted in the Mexican car culture.
Whether me like it or not, it’s fun to learn about cars that are unique to a country, like the Australian muscle cars in FH3 or the British classics in FH4.

I am car racer and not a car enthusiast. I purchased car pass as part of the premium/ultimate pack back in FH4 mainly to obtain the meta cars used in ranked racing. I was happy with my purchase.

As for FH5 I have not purchased car pass or premium/ultimate because there is no ranked racing.

If they wanted to make money off me all they need to do is add back ranked racing and I’ll get out the credit card and buy it. Until then…

This sounds really interesting. I agree largely with your comments. For me, if you take the existing car pass cars I would never guess the game is based on Mexico. Frankly I wouldn’t guess North America. With the exception of the Merc I would only think Europe. The Jags are beautiful cars though.

Edit: I had to look and I do like the drift cars too. The nascar race car just isn’t my thing but maybe there’s something for it.

I mostly agree with the Audi TT take more than anything. Feels like a pretty pointless addition, especially since other members of the community have been requesting new Audis for quite some time.

I actually miss the old car pack methods from FH3 (and possibly FH2? Can’t remember.) It was nice to get five new cars at once every month. I even miss the old hint threads where we were given an obscure hint for each car and we’d try to figure out what the cars would be.

Ah, yes. Thanks, Max.

For me, the Renault is the best of the bunch so far. Most of these are cars I might get in, look at upgrade options, and maybe drive for a couple of minutes. I used the Renault and Mercury for some races. And I may have attempted to use the Espada for a Trial or Championship.

And while I generally like Audi TTs in racing games, they’re not the sort of interesting/exciting cars I’d want in DLC.

We get 3 variations of huracans, and yet none of them sound acurrate. The same with the audi from next week

I like they added a newer baby lambo

but It show many flaw in class system.

Huracan EVO is useless without a wing in S1. (Monza SP2 and J50 are also have the same problem.)
Huracan EVO and SVJ is sitting in the same class. Huracan become a power car and SVJ is little bit slow in S1. But also not useful in S2 since every S2 are track car.
For a handling lambo it already has a 770-4 in S1.
They dont have meaningful difference when they put cars into the game.
superleggera spyder, Reventon they all has these problem.

The game need a “invisible aero upgrade”
And Cut off super car/ hyper car /race car into 3 class.
SVJ move to hyper car
Veneno maybe put into race car. (yes it is not realistic but there is not enough race car lambo anyway. Maybe put a race car conversion upgrade into the game. )

What about the Mexican supercars… the Mastretta and the new one… the Inferno I believe!!! Would be nice to see their heritage showcased in the game

Mastretta will probably never be added to the list because they are a company that doesn’t exist anymore.
It’s not uncommon for these upstart supercars to disappear from the game due to licensing issues following a company’s bankruptcy, such as the Caparo T1 in FM6.

Unless Microsoft can identify and negotiate with the companies and individuals who control the licenses of these non-existent brands, like the many British classics added in FH4.

I like the car pass cars and I think its nice to get 1 car a week something to look forward to very week, also be good if the car pass could be extended so you can get another one and keep on receiving cars every week.

It create “people cant unlock the car in release day” bugs.
In old game they simply unlock it at once after patch.

I’ve never had any issue getting the cars, not saying it doesn’t happen just saying its never happened to me, just lucky I guess.

Since the game become live-service
They are using some kind of online time checking DRM thing to check our games.
So every time we quick resume the game it have to black-screen-reload again which is annoying and it cause some bugs or DRM itself failed. (playlist 458 bugs for example)
And it have to be always-online for no reason

They are not release content as once > Player cant test play it at once > They cant found the problem early and patch in earlier.

Many pc online games/mmo with weeky content update they are really patching their game every 1 or 2 weeks.
and they often have a “monthy time limt” to let you do the content. So if week1 content had bugs. Player can still play it later after week1 patch.

Except forza
In Xbox system many game can not release patch weeky and every patch have to take few days and weeks for checking/approval

So these “weeky service thing” never go well on console

There’s been a few gems which is great. But, I think far too many limited production run Italian cars.

Question:
What is this JDM everyone talks about?

I know that JDM means product is created for japanese domestic market. Which means things like right hand drive.

i hated this 2 cars every week in fh4 and i hate that 1 car in fh5 even more, i really miss good old car packs with 7 or 6 cars each on each month.
