Did the update change the physics?

Using the exact same tunes on the exact same track conditions, I am managing 1-2s slower than before the update. (P Class - Ferrari F1). I’m a very consistent driver, so something like this is easy for me to ‘feel’.

The car feels much stiffer, I really don’t want to have to change my tune every time there’s an update shadow-nerfing my favorite cars.

I haven’t noticed a change, but I had a car where the suspension was stiffer every time I loaded it on a new track. Could be a similar issue, maybe?

the suspension also changes based on the fuel load. (which is very annoying)

I don’t believe that was the cause. It was bumping by around 100 lbs each time I loaded in. Went from 1/3ish to 2/3 max stiffness before I retired the car.

yeah…the physics was changed,
1.the game feels smoother.
2.extra brightness is gone from cockpit view, shadows working correctly.

I have the same problem. I drive TCR FWD and the Peugeot feels very strange after update 7. I have to apply more steering angle than before. The tires feel like solid rubber tires.

Things could well have changed and like the other month they forgot to add it to the list of changes until they were caught out

Nothing surprises me anymore… that can be taken both ways!

Have you tried any other cars? Maybe its problem just with the ferrari.

I noticed weird behaviour on the Laguna Seca start/finish line driving a Toyota Celica 2003. It felt so weird. It had that thing like if you jump a bit on that early straight on Nordschleife, but without the actual jump. I can’t explain it any better.

To me the tires feel a lot stiffer and less compliant. like they have less initial give in them.
Stiffer sidewall physics perhaps.

I’ve tried the other TCR cars and it’s the same. I’m not sure but they did something with Update 7 that changed the tire physics.

I’ve noticed a number of my cars now feel like they have more understeer and less braking force than before.

Yes something is weird.

Whatever it is they are trying, this isn’t it. Update 7 the grip consistency was feeling as good as it had been yet. Though perhaps a little too “grippy”.

Now im having trouble with threshold braking and mid corner turn in/rotation. theres not enough linearity in the grip loss as the friction reaches its peak.
Also now if you are some what off the “racing line” theres no grip at all.
At the moment im finding I get better turn in and braking when the tires are at 60%-85% wear. weird.

I’ve noticed a change and I’m not even that great.

Well, I can only speak for my favorite class. And the Peugeot 308 TCR is pretty difficult to drive after update 7. Then I noticed that certain cars in the TCR class have changed values that I can’t reproduce. The Audi RS3 TCR class has an acceleration of 3.3 and there are people driving with acceleration of 3.5 to 3.6. I’ve already adjusted the gear box but this value doesn’t change for me. No idea if these are PC drivers using some kind of tool.

Do you mean update 8?(the most recent one)

As far as accel discrepancies, have you tried any engine/ aspiration/ drivetrain swaps for the car in question?

I love that fact!
Hope that T10 add a drying line to wet tracks in variable weather

Yeah, that is how it should be, less grip off the line. the problem is that the rubbered up “racing line” is not always the correct line that would be taken.
for example, Kyalami at the end of the back straight into the heavy braking zone into the tight right hander. A section that I would usually approach with a wide entry and late apex. The FM Rainbow road racing line shows a completely different line that is way too tight an entry. The last few days ive seen so many people including myself not being able to get the car slowed and turned in with the normal wide approach, yet if you stick exactly to the rainbow road braking line on the inside you will have all the grip you need.
My point being that the FM braking/racing line is not always the ideal line and the rubber/grip build up is not always were you should expect it.

Wouldn’t expect anything less from Turn10 than pre-baked track rubbering.
