Physics updated/changed???

Hey guys. I haven’t played forza 7 for months now. Came back to the game and drove a couple of rounds with my known cars. But it felt to me that they drive much easier now… No counter steering… Easier to hold in the drift… Much more arcade from what I remember before. (TCS and stm off… Steering normal). So did they patched or did something about the physics or is it just imagination?

If you haven’t played in several months then yeah more than likely you will feel some differences. This game has basically had monthly updates and they always seem to tweak or fix a few extras that are not mentioned, handling being one of them…I don’t recall when that was done though.

I will agree with you that some of the cars physics have changed and dare I say more controllable once you disable all assists. IMO it can be hit/miss depending on the car. I’m not sure if it’s the actual code or simply offering a better base tune to be honest.

The only thing that stands out right now is the tires. Lowering them from 30 to around mid 20’s helps out immensely for me while allowing very little to no changes in base tunes on some of the cars.

The 3 things I now tweak are:
Tire PSI: Mid 20’s with the rear lower than the front on rear wheel driving cars.
Ride Height: lowering it which maybe trial/error
Camber: Increase it (5.1-5.5) if I use Simulation Steering. Leave it on default when using normal steering (game pad).

Whatever the case the base tune of all cars were once bad for my driving style. That’s no longer the case now. Be it better tunes or change in physics who knows.

That sucks that they make it easier… I want it more challenging as it was before

Wut?
If it was changed it wasn’t to make it easier.

I feel no difference.

In fact, the only difference is that my skills have improved.

However, I’m sure they did tweak some sounds rather than physics. I clearly remember a YouTube video showing the Mercedes A45 TCR with a 6-cylinder sound, but in the latest build it has a proper 4-cylinder sound instead. And the 2018 Civic seems to sound a little bit different from when it was introduced, too.

Although I can’t prove it, I highly doubt they’ve made any changes to the driving physics. Doing so would essentially invalidate all leader board records set prior to the change. I haven’t noticed any difference and I’ve played this game almost every day for the past few months, going through many monthly updates.

It wouldn’t matter if they did change “things” because when the track limits are instituted, all leaderboards will be wiped anyway.

Is that actually going to happen in the next 6 months? Last time t10 said something was coming soon it was a fix for telemetry… going on 3 months and counting

Maybe change steering from the arcade option of normal and change it to sim and see if that helps?
