It’s been a month that I started not enjoying the game anymore. Even though the races are longer, which was a really nice thing to happen, many other things changed and I feel they changed for the worst. The GT split feels weird, I had some cars I enjoyed driving, and now I keep trying every cars but none feel “right” anymore, before that I enjoyed a lot the GT races, but now I just hate them. There’s a “fast” car event every 2 years, when will we have those LMP again, those were a blast, why did they become such rarity?
I log in, I see GT2, meh, I see le mans, meh meh. Since every race is the same, get taken out first corner, spend 20 minutes losing a game, at least make it so the context is fun to play.
I don’t know, what are your thoughts, am I just not enjoying because I played to much, or is there really something that happened that made the game iewish to play?
It’s you, and that’s ok.
The game has been a drudge since day one. Occasionally they add a feature here or there to keep the retention of the few that haven’t jumped ship yet. Plus, for ever one car they add to motorsport, horizon receives five.
With the release of fallout london ive been busy the past couple weeks. And with the test drive vip beta releasing the same day as the new season im fairly certain this past series is the last series in my motorsport career.
I also noticed this change as soon as they decided to go from random to fixed weather, in short. the races are getting more boring
I still play it daily but I see where you’re coming from. To me it’s the way the content is used in such a rigid manner, it’s like a loop and once you’ve been on the ferris wheel one time… I’m specifically talking about Featured MP by the way.
I don’t even remember the last time ovals were used, those could have their own hopper.
A “surprise me” hopper with random class/car/category/track/weather/duration could spice things up but what do I know…
Picture for fun:
Daily? Once a week for the FOMO is more than enough.
Get a week off for good behaviour since it’s 5 weeks between updates this time
Bored outta my gored! After about the second day. CarPG ruined the game from the start. They fixed it way to late to save the game. And did way too little in fixing it. The continuous additions of bugs and glitches with untested updates. Counting on the player base to do the testing and then failing to communicate with us. On and on and on…
FM7 still has a great single player career. I’ve been replaying through the different stages. The AI is actually (I). And fairly decent competition. The multiplayer is still available and still has players. If you’re bored with FM and still want a forza fix go back to FM7.
Not much has changed in the general game play. Yes, the CarPG mechanic has been made optional, but overall the game has always been like this. I personally got more out of free play instead of the career. But that was running the cars I wanted to drive.
This soulless game gets stale very fast, especially when the few good things about it are buried under so many problems & annoyances, and especially if you’ve played prior installments and/or other somewhat similar titles.
It’s the game, and that’s ok.
In terms of everything from visual quality and fidelity of vehicles, gameplay variety and modes, vehicle and track content and user experience/interface - the game has always been bland like an eggshell since day one.
The only good thing is the new physics system and even that is half baked as all stock road-going cars, race cars and LMP1 cars are an understeering mess, and are terrible for casual and controller players on Xbox. Like how does a Huracan or Miata drive so terribly in FM than GT7, FH5 and IRL.
10 updates, 300 plus days since launch and 6 years in the making. What more can be said that hasn’t said before. Highway robbery to say the least.
Extremely lackluster updates and dead LFG sections. No wonder why.
You are not alone.
The physics are good?
Since they changed what open lobby we get each week to totally random class, I don’t even play anymore, all I want to race is B or A class that’s all, eventually S class, anything above is F1 meta (while x class is pepega on its own), and anything below is just soft meta haven, open multiplayer Is totally unbalanced, while spec races get boring fast, and are not rly balanced properly tbh.
Yes compared to older episodes from the serie the physic is great, well physics is bad for trolls, are you trolling or you have any evidences it’s bad?
Yeah I have evidence it’s bad, last update changed all the physics. Want more evidence?
I like the new pit lane exit physics. Best out there.
Or the physics while using a controller, sometimes the steering locks and you have to completely stop to turn your car. Best physics out there
The game lacks quality and consistency - the key things that define my trust in such product. Deep down I don’t trust the game to teach me new things about cars, because it feels like it’s made by randomly hired people as opposed to an enthusiastic team passionate about motorsport OR gaming. Therefore many decisions make no sense at all. GT split in particular was done in the worst way possible - it’s not true to real life and neither it is player-friendly, and to think that they gonna drop GT4 on top of that nonsense… The fact that those splits aren’t permanent but only for some particular events just adds another layer of confusion to the whole thing.
Should have just rounded it up to Forza GT and a new permanent GT4-level slower division (although there are barely any cars for it IIRC, but they still announced it), while removing Australian Supercars, Challenge type cars, TA and that FWD Audi TT. It would be intuitive and simple. That GT2 move was a disaster.
The whole multiplayer is built on exploiting meta cars and tunes. It’s borderline pay-to-win since, as I remember, car pass cars are usually the fastest ones, and that’s disgusting for a “motorsport” game. The best racing I had was in M3 and Golf spec events.
T10 should have listened to PJTierney suggestion about each event being limited to single tire compound and Rory Alexander youtuber suggestion about limiting the tuning range of setups inside each division. But they can’t even make base setups driveable so… I have no hope that this game will have any kind of “sport” to it. My best bet right now is it being a decent car sandbox if they return open drift/track day lobbies and add Fujimi Kaido/Tokyo Expressway type of tracks.
