I don’t know if anyone else is feeling this but the game is kinda losing my interest.
Could it be because the car list is crap?
Could it be because the map is bad?
Could it be because the vehicle upgrades are the worst?
Who knows man.
I’m just not getting the warm fuzzy feeling I got while playing through horizon 2 and 3. It’s honestly just getting stale in a hurry quite simply.
If anyone else is feeling the same please let me know
Bored after less than 2 weeks. That’s something I never thought would happen with a Forza game but PG have done it. No championships, no class based rivals. What are we supposed to do, play the 3 random seasonal events over and over for the next few years?
Over the past several years, Playground Games have designed and developed 3 excellent Forza Horizon games with little or no interference from Turn 10. Horizon 4 is very different. Not because Playground Games have failed us, but because Turn 10 have forced their influence on the development of this franchise, in an attempt to jump on the success which Playground Games have founded.
I haven’t reached the point of boredom yet, as I still have a lot to complete. However, I wouldn’t blame Playground Games for any of the games shortcomings, real or perceived. From what I have heard, seen, read, and observed, Turn 10 is responsible for any disappointment we may have with this game.
This is my issue right now… I though each race would have a championship like FH3. I know it might have been viewed as busy work by some but it gave me something to do each time I turned the game on.
It’s different for everyone
I think the car list is awesome
I think the map is fine
I love the vehicle upgrades since they switched from the bad PI of H3 and went more towards the good PI of H2
But I am bored too. I am bored because they took away 95% of my gameplay by taking away open ended rivals and giving us no choice of class in online play. I figure in a week or less I will be out. If I had rivals and online choice of class I wouldn’t probably get bored for at least 2 years. Really not much in the game for me to do without rivals for testing builds that I will never be able to play online since I like the lower class races.
Not because of the car list (it’s awesome), the map is fine too.
To me, it’s the horizon life session (online freeroam). Everyone just seems to be so far away from each other. And there’s not many meet up places such as car park, long drag strip, etc like in FH3.
Also, everyone else not in your convoy being ghosted doesn’t help either.
Same here.
There is no history, no unlock races with festivals like in H3, no good cities like in H3, and the worst, the game should have a good MP but no, it doesnt have it.
I wanna race in coop or pvp with a race i find in frewroak, but there is not matchmaking, only try to pair you with the people in your lobby and they never join.
No category and car class, no season selector, no blueprints selectors, only random races with random class and seasons and everything in a team with randoms.
They have a matchmaking and no team in seasonal races in the map, but not in the otgers races, no sense.
I doubt car list and upgrades can be the cause. Surely they are no worse than FH2 or 3.
Map, events and game structure are more likely the reason.
But each to their own.
Maybe your playing it to much, to often. Go outside, get some fresh air. Limit your game time.

Redundant
Well this should obviously tell you something right? For a lot of us longtime players we had no reason to join these forums because the previous games were fine. Maybe they weren’t perfect but I never found anything in them so bad that I would hit the forums to complain. The same can not be said for H4. The MP has been vastly downgraded as far as options and the exclusion of any car any class rivals is brutal for longevity.
For me to reason why i get bored allready is because this game end game non-exist. Yeah i could still build to cars but what for when there is not rivals mode to test them or good online game mode where could be get good races. I wouldnt never belive i would be this bored in forza horizon after one week. Hopefully winter would help litlle bit because it seems to be most intesting season for me. But if pg dont bring some quality content in reasonable time this game lifetime for me will be really short.
Not exactly bored, but I don’t know what to do anymore. I did all the events. That’s what ends a Horizon for me. Multiplayer is ridiculous and the daily Forzathon tasks are an insult (do two drifts, really?). Just a shame that it only took 40 hours to see everything. That’s roughly half the content of FH3. I am not a fan of ripping out content to add it in a later update.
I have 12 days of playtime in the stats of forza horizon 3 and I haven’t completed the championships in the blizzard mountain dlc.So it’s less than half.
Yea I haven’t been glued to it either . The car list is severely lacking and I don’t see the point of the hoonigan cars. The avatar thing is dumb and there doesn’t seem to be much progression in the story mode. The new car pack although nothing I absolutely want is much better and I like the 2 cars released a week thing .
I’m a little bored. Play FH3 again for a few hours. FH3 has more festival feeling in my opinion.
1: In offline mode I can see the level of the Drivatars which is even colored depending on which level you have in real and not like in FH4 everything grey and all Drivatars are lvl 1. In addition, in offline mode you can see the designs of the cars that the real driver has on it.
2: I’ve had a maximum of 4 PVP players in the race so far because apparently no players are found.
3: Have a very good internet connection but each time I am kicked out of online session. Play Anywhere is a good feature but I do not understand how every time the game downloads 5 minutes from the cloud.
4: I do not find it real when other players are ghosts.
5: In FH3 you knew that you had to build up the festival to get race unlocked but in FH4 you have to do the same thing every time so that sometime something new unlocked on the map.
6: If I sold or did not sell cars, I have to visit every single car to get credits or get the car back. To save all DLC cars you have to save each car individually which takes a very long time.
7: No feature to turn the collision on and off.
8: Cosmetik Wheelspins.
9: Same Forzathon every Day.
All this things are much better in FH3.
Over the last two days I’ve managed to get into a grand total of 3 ranked adventures, which are over after one series, of course. Then it’s back to freeroam for another hour or two of trying to get enough people for a game and hoping nobody gets disconnected and resets matchmaking, which happens far too often.
The rest of the game is okay. I don’t mind the current rivals format, open class will no doubt be added in 6 months after most people have moved on, like they did with FM7. But that’s neither here nor there, there’s enough rival events to keep me happy for a while since online clearly isn’t an option yet.
I’m starting to get bored of the game as well which is shocking to me with how much longer I was able to stay interested in earlier Horizon games.
It’s not really due to lack of content, the map is one of the best yet and there’s loads of cars and exhibitions (although sadly no championships). IMO I think the real problem is with the game’s pacing.
Compared to earlier Horizon games, the first few days of FH4 are an overload of new events and wheelspins throwing cars, credits and cosmetics at the player. However, shortly after the prologue ends this all pretty much dries up so all that’s left is a slow grind to unlock the rest of the content. All the Horizon games have this grind in the endgame, but FH4 got to this point MUCH sooner with how fast everything unlocked up front.
Earlier Horizon games avoided this burnout by unlocking things more slowly and having a better race structure. It was still fast enough that the player never really had to grind, but not so fast that the player felt overwhelmed with all the new stuff. Championships also worked well to provide some additional structured progression (not really new content since it was just reusing the same tracks).
In another thread someone was mentioning that the whole games stinks of a microtransaction/free to play model that was ripped out at the last minute (probably due to the public backlash around loot crates and such) without enough time to rebalance progression. Sadly I’m inclined to agree with them.
Hopefully the PG devs will follow Turn10’s lead and take a step back, acknowledge the problems, and then focus on fixing them.
The grind in FH2 was absolutely terrible. We haven’t played the same game, it seems. 15 Championships to unlock a finale, and then 15 more to unlock the same finale, round two. You unlocked all areas early on so the races were really repetitive. The Road Trip concept was not well implemented either, as the Drivatars would crash into you all the time, especially if you were driving slower cars.
FH3 was, honestly, not much different from 4. Upgrading Festivals is the same as leveling up your character at all the different disciplines. The difference is that you feel less of the Festival in 4 because there’s only a central hub in the south of the map.
You guys need to take into account that 3 came before 4 and thus felt fresher, which does not make it better. 4 was an incremental upgrade to 3 with some changes that may or may not have worked. However, taking into account the things new to 4, I absolutely cannot go back to 3, the same way I cannot go back to FM6 after experiencing 7. There are more and better cars, the map is better overall, there are new upgrades like drift suspension, drag tires and even vintage racing tires (the bias ply tires from 1960s prototypes), the PI system is more in tune with how I build my cars, grinding money and perks is easier once you have the necessary tools, and I’m simply tired of FH3 after having played it non-stop for the latter part of 2017. Many of the shortcomings I see in FH4 plagued 3 already, so I don’t really have anything to go back to. Don’t really miss the Supra nor the Evo all that much either, even though their absence saddens me.
I have issues with the game of course, but most of these threads feel like nitpicking, really. I think I had more good than bad moments with FH4 already, and the bad ones weren’t few. FH4 will still develop over time, so it might get better and address common complaints.
I like the lower class races online so there is not much to do after playing single player for a couple of weeks, but the expansion packs will probably get my attention for a while when they are relesed, but after that I probably going to shelf it.
