Very peculiar that so many are affected, but some like me are entirely unaffected so far. I’d love to know what the common denominator is for those having trouble versus those not. Such as location or Windows 10 version.

Booted up FH4 this morning, and the game performed it’s usual connectivity issues. This is already a know issue, so I won’t elaborate.
However, I have noticed an interesting quirk of this issue that relates to Goliath, and possibly other races as well.
If you are loading Goliath, and you happen to be disconnected from Horizon life during this, the game loads the Goliath circuit with traffic cars driving around.
(essentially it runs the Goliath in free-roam mode.
At the end, the finish line does not work either, and you just pass straight through. I found that after I went through the finish line, all keyboard controls had stopped working.
Ultimately, I had to just shut down the game, but I thought this would be informative to others who haven’t discovered it (and wondering if anyone else has?)

Yeah, it is very strange but problems are often like that (a streamer I normally race with has been having bad lag for the last 2 months yet I rarely get any). I’m in the UK and my Windows build is 19041.388. Until the last few days I rarely had issues with disconnects apart from the odd occasion

It seems to be a Micrsoft issue of some sort…likely to be related to the IPV6 connection

I am in the UK and on 18362.836 (delayed updates). edit - and version 1903.

I’m on 18363.959 (version 1909) and do have the problem (UK).

I’m on 18363.959 (version 1909) in Belgium

did have the problem (really bad) but the server-namechange (and opened ports, UpnP, type=client,…) seems to have fixed it for now

Forgot to say I’m on version 2004 of Windows 10

Just tried GPEdit with some tips from a thread on Reddit.
With GPEdit.msc running:
Click Computer Configuration
Click Administrative Templates
Click All Settings at the bottom
Search for ‘Set Teredo State’
Right click; Edit
Make sure it is set to ‘Enabled’ and the state is set to ‘Enterprise Client’.

I just did this and now Teredo is saying it’s connected in my Xbox Networking settings in Control Panel, which it wasn’t before.
As soon as I can get my game to start (attempt 10) I’ll edit this post and let you all know if it works.

Edit: Yep this fixed it for me - I’m back online but now experiencing constant disconnects and laggy performance whenever I interact with other players (races, adventure etc.)
Just got to wait for Microsoft to sort this I guess

when im playing fh4 online it disconects and reconnects me every few minutes i’ve reinstalled the game/ fixed the xbox networking with the NAT type and server connectivity they are on open and connected, turned off and on my modem and it still does the same thing when i play any other game i have no issues

I had connectivity issues last few days also, but today can’t run a game at all. The Forza logo shows ups and then those two intros (Playground games logo) and then nothing, just dark screen. The same on Forza Motorsport 7. They are on Windows 10 10.0.18362
Can’t even start the Xbox companion app it just loads…guessing they having issues after that terrible Xbox Games Showcase

Hi.

I had connectivity issues for couple of days but today I can’t even start the game. It plays two intros and before jumping into the game there is just black screen. The same is happening to Forza7.
Anyone coming across this issue?

Changed the server to teredo.remlab.net as above, as well as the port change mentioned on the reddit link. Seems to be working much better here now (on Windows 10). I still get signed out of Horizon Life every time I finish a Team Adventure, though, for some reason.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed.

So, last night I decided to order an Xbox (to be delivered tomorrow) thinking we have no idea whether it will be fixed in days, weeks, months given everything seems to indicate it’s only affecting Forza and Microsoft may not see it as important. Fire up the game almost an hour ago and, after 15 minutes of no disconnects figured, let’s give the Trial a go…completed race 1 fine, race 2 fine, race 3 got disconnected 2/3s way through. Great, issue still persists…however, 20 minutes later and haven’t been disconnected again yet…so was the Trial disconnect just coincidence? Given people on Xbox have been having issues with it?

Now I don’t know what to do as, if I want to cancel the Xbox order, I need to do it soon but have the issues actually been fixed or am I just being lucky and it will start disconnecting later?

Well, just had the game on the menu screen and minimised while I was doing something else for 10 minutes and I’d been disconnected when I came back (normally it will happily sit on the menu screen for 30 minutes without disconnecting). While it’s an expensive option (and may prove annoying when it comes to my headset), think I will go ahead with buying a XB1 as I really miss racing with my friends and am not convinced this issue is sorted

Update: Tried Playground Games after managing to stay connected for a while…got disconnected halfway through the first event, DC’d again 2 minutes later, then fine. Seems to be that, as long as I am playing solo, it seems to stay connected but kicks me out every time I try anything involving other people (same happened with Forzathon…got DC’d while waiting, then got DC’d 30 seconds after it started). Interestingly, I went to Forza Hub (I rarely check it as I forget it’s there) and it tells me it is unavailable! So, I will definitely be getting the XBox and just hope the issues aren’t there too.

I have a xbox one and the Forza hub is unavailable the last 2 weeks, you still can get the weekly reward but thats about all.
I rarely have disconnections with the console.

Thanks. Forza hub doesn’t bother me as,thinking about it, I’ve only accessed it once since I started using Xbox Live etc back in February. Yeah, everything was suggesting this was a Windows only issue and the Xbox is fine but it’s nice to get confirmation…can’t really afford to buy the Xbox but I miss having fun with friends too much

I’m gathering Microsft must read these threads every now and then to see if we know the solutions to their problems.

I mentioned several days ago in another thread to change DNS as i had a similiar problem (on Xbox though) in FH3.

Prior to that i mentioned it about a year and a half ago in another thread as well.

What i do find reading some of these comments though is that PC is pretty much unstable a lot more than Xbox is.

I also found that the community is generally the ones identifying and fixing the problems (or providing the solution to fixing it) with workarounds rather than Microsoft or game developers.

Not all mind you, but a fair few it would seem.

Maybe I’ve just been lucky until now…I only started playing Forza in February so have no historical reference but, up until this latest episode, I rarely had issues…sure, had the odd disconnect every now and then but that was it whereas other people I race with who use Xbox have had daily issues with lag etc. It wouldn’t surprise me though that the PC version was more problematic as that is true for most console ports
