Connectivity issues becoming absurd

Thanks it worked for me.

Thank you - this fixed my connecting dropping every few minutes. Game seems to work as it should now.

my teredo is definitely messed up… in settings it shows as
NAT open / server connected ;

I check again a few minutes later (no changes done whatsoever)
NAT unavailable / server blocked

click “fix it” and “check again”
NAT open / serverconnected

but often even if I don’t “fix it” but just “check again” it also results in open/connected ?!?

Server for mine was showing as “win1903.ipv6.microsoft.com” (or something very similar, numbers may have differed slightly) but I followed the instructions here

https://www.reddit.com/r/forza/comments/fbk4tr/teredo_fix_windows_10/

and changed it to teredo.remlab.net, and early indications are that it no longer keeps disconnecting. So, I don;t know if the issue lies in the ipv6.microsoft.com server, but fingers crossed it;s not a problem any more!

…just to let you know that those instructions ONLY work for Windows 10 Pro Edition as the Home Edition (like mine), does not have a Local Computer Policy setting section so those sections can’t be made.

Yep, fixed mine by changing Server Name to - win10.ipv6.microsoft.com

Many thanks

Have kept those netsh commands as well to keep a check on the connection!

Happy to see that this (might be?) resolved for PC players.

I am not sure if what I experienced yesterday is the same issue, but it seems similar. However, I am on xBox One X, not PC.

I was trying to complete the Trial. Each time, my team would lose race 1 to the Drivatars, then we would win race 2, so off to race 3, the Goliath.

The race starts off fine, but leaving Edinburgh, I would start to see “Inactivity Detected” messages, despite leading the race, clipping sign posts, etc. Approaching the Lighthouse, I would be disconnected. Every Time.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

^ This solution has worked for me, sorted my connection issue. Had to download GPEdit.msc and install/run as administrator to do one of the steps. I’m in the UK, had this issue since Wednesday affecting FH4 and Forza Hub on PC, I believe after a Windows 10 update. Still can’t get Forza Hub on PC to run, but Forza hub on Xbox is working. Halo PC is working no issue, so only appears to be affecting this Microsoft game on PC, in the UK by the looks of it.

That is the same place I just got disconnected during the Trial.

Glad you got it to work…I download GPedit but it had no TCPIP section so wouldn’t work

After changing my strategy on Goliath, I was (finally) able to complete the race without getting the “Inactivity Detected” message and then a disconnect from the session. All of my disconnects had been in the vicinity of the Lighthouse.

The difference was that I chose to stay in second place, behind the lead Drivatar, rather than making a pass and taking the lead myself. Provided I stayed within “drafting” distance of the lead Drivatar, I never got the “Inactivity Detected” message. Maintained second place until the “dip” just south of the Festival, made the pass for the lead, and on to victory.

Resulted in a pretty slow time (I used the 911 GT3 4.0) admittedly, but completed the Trial.

Good luck to all who are suffering this week.

Yeah same here. Microsoft chat helpdesk adviced to change my DNS manually to 8.8.8.8 (primary) and 8.8.4.4 (secondary on Xbox. seems to have improved the connection for multiplayer.

Same here. Microsoft advised changing DNS to 8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4. on xbox. seems to work.

For anyone who doesn’t know, what that is doing is changing to using Google’s public DNS servers. It’s a bit bizarre that that would fix the problem unless it’s confined to people who use a specific UK ISP, and that one ISP has some sort of DNS problem. There are other options such as OpenDNS and Cloudflare, for people who want to try a different DNS server without using Google.

The game is running like absolute garbage now. I’m not disconnecting, but between last season I think it was having trouble with everyone’s overall completion percentage, and this season, I wouldnt recommend the game to people I hate.

Since the last Playlist swap, every 5 seconds in MP the game goes into slow motion, then goes incredibly quickly to catch up, then when it hits the point it should be at it goes to slow motion again. Wash rinse repeat the entire time the game is open. It even seems to struggle in SP, occasionally going into slow motion for a second while just driving around. Nothing open in the background, no packet loss, no downloads throttling the internet. The multiplayer events are completely impossible when you go into a corner incredibly slowly, then suddenly you’re flung into the forest because you were reacting to something that hasnt happened to your eyes, but the game has already passed by.

If you use https://downdetector.co.uk/ you’ll see the Forza Motorsport is down for pretty much the whole of the UK. The issue isn’t on our side, it’s Forza’s servers that are messed up.

I decided to start messing about with the ports on my router as a final resort. Set up both an Xbox Live profile (was already a pre-installed set-up) and also manually set-up a FH4 one with all the ports pointed out by Forza support manually configured. Initial signs were positive as it stayed fine for 20-30 minutes then went back to the random Toredo couldn’t qualify etc message, though if I click check right away it then shows as fine. Will check the game later but am not holding out much hope of getting a fix anytime soon…shame as it means I can’t race with friends, with streamers, do any online Playlist stuff, Forzathons…basically the game is pointless now

hi folks just wondering if anybody else is having this problem on forza horizon4 when i go into the open world i get disconnected every 2 mins it then joins again and after 2 mins kicks me out again but the funny thing it is always 2 mins i’ve timed it a few times and always bang on mins? anybody got any idea’s what it could be? thank you

So, after messing with the port forwarding etc, tried running the game…for the first 30 minutes I stayed connected (a minor miracle) and even managed to do a showcase with some random person who was running it so I was excited thinking it had fixed it. Suffice to say I got disconnected and can’t stay connected for more than a couple of minutes again. Really have no idea what is going on but there’s nothing else I can do on my side that I think will help.

To quote @Strike Viper from another thread about the connection issues:

“I spoke to Microsoft support a few moments ago and the rather frazzled guy on the phone said the issue was a known one, and very common and that I wasn’t alone. He said their technical staff were looking at things and checking servers etc. and to basically just wait for an update or something to resolve it.”
