Change Multiclass (ABCS) to 3 groups (ABS)

My favourite series to race is the Multiclass Series. The combination of having total freedom of car builds, the traffic management, the medium length, they all work for me. The lobbies are decently filled and there’s a pretty good track rotation too.
The timed race format does need to be changed, vote for that suggestion here.

The one thing I believe needs improvement is the filling of the groups. Some of the groups (mostly B and C) are often left with 0 to 2 cars. This leads to boring races within those groups and doing nothing more than traffic management during your race.
If one of the groups were to be removed from the selection, there should be a better filling of the other low occupied group. Changing the format to ABS (wow, it ends up as an automotive term) seems fitting to me.
In FM7 the game tried to force you into groups that were less occupied, that is a system I don’t want to return.

When the Multiclass Series still had rotating groupings (CAR / CDE / something with higher classes I don’t remember), these combinations all had 3 groups too.

It would also be nice for the other groupings to return at some point.

Related suggestion not limited to ABCS:

I think for this game even 3 classes is too many. In a full lobby you’re only racing in groups of 8 which feels too small and results in very wide skill gaps.

We already see massive pace/skill gaps in non-multiclass series even when all players are theoretically in the same ratings range. To give one example, I won a medium length Daily Racers event by over a minute (ahead of P2) this weekend, and I know for certain I’m not 7+ seconds a lap faster than me fellow S/499X drivers. If gaps like that are possible there then there’s potential for even more exaggeration when you have half or a third as many opponents.

I think Featured Multiplayer multiclass in this game should be no more than two classes, so that you get 10-12 opponents per class.

Regarding ABCS, you could split this into two and rotate them weekly:

  • A + C
  • S + B

I understand what you’re saying, but I think that having three groups with double traffic management (two classes with different speeds compared to your own) will still be good to drive in.
The wider skill gaps is something I would not like to blame on the amount of groups in a race, but on the population of the races, which is hard to change.

This does seem like a good alternative too.
