So the car sound is not changing when changing performance parts like in FH5. I cannot understand how the devs could not include this. There should be also a sound test feature in the customization workshop like in FH5.
Chris Esaki even said in one of his pre-release interviews with the Xbox girl: “Basically whatever changes the cars sound IRL after upgrades changes it in the game”.
Not true. Again… Were we lied to?
The sounds definetly change for me, you can clearly hear a difference between stock, sport and race exhaust for example.
It does for most of the cars I’ve tried so far, hardly a change for others whereas the change should be dramatic compared to real life, and with others, no change at all.
It’s a mixed bag but I’m glad the feature is at least there. Maybe they will refine and improve this over time with even different exhausts for different sonic characteristics.
FM 2 had the ability to have different manufacturer exhausts installed and the tip on the car physically changed too. Gosh, I hope they bring that back!
Whaat, I don’t remember that. TBF FM2 was wayy ahead of it’s time, paintable calipers, car sound changes with exhaust upgrades, rear forza bumpers, if I’m not mistaken you could also choose different tire manufacturers when upgrading tires. Also a lot of pre-tuned cars which are awesome imo.
It was indeed ahead of its time. It was the reason I got sold on the Xbox 360. Haven’t looked back since. Was on GT before that.
Yep, there were exhausts, intercoolers, cams, forced induction…everything was licensed. Unlike the current FM game, your car audio would dramatically change with camshaft, air filter, air intake, exhaust, forced induction, ignition, fuel system… Everything! Now it’s just exhaust and intake that changes the sound.
I want the team back that worked on FM 2-4.
What a downward spiral it has been since then.
