Censored Soundtrack AGAIN! (Epitaph Records - FH5 Rally Adventure)

It’s a two-part issue, really. The first issue being “why are they not choosing more appropriate music in the first place”, and the second issue being “why are they censoring words like HIGH and BED” when they aren’t necessarily offensive words. The thing I don’t understand is why the word GOD has been censored in some songs, but not censored in others :man_shrugging:

“Never Moving On” is one of my favorites in this new soundtrack, and it’s one of the worst offenders with censorship. Bed is censored. Champagne is censored. Death is censored.

Most of the censorship in this game is just nonsensical. Removing “consumption” and “champagne” from a song is not going to contribute to their ESRB Everyone rating. It’s just idiotic.

I can understand censoring common swear words. You know, the ones that we’re not allowed to post here. But when you get to the point of censoring half of a song and none of it makes sense, it doesn’t serve any purpose.

And? What’s your point? Are you trying to convey that censoring words like “spirit”, “consumption”, “champagne”, “bed”, and “god” are going to contribute to the E rating? Because they don’t.

They may do, in fact.

ESRB (and other age rating boards across the world) are pretty strict sometimes.

It’s not going to change regardless of how many forums posts are made. A (not ideal) workaround is to mute the in-game radio and use a Spotify playlist, if you want to hear the originals while driving.

well, snowflakes or not, turning the volume to zero and listening to whatever you want on another or even the same device makes the problem not a problem

Man…the censors would’ve had a heart attack w/ PGR’s sountdrack on the OG Xbox. Sir Mix aLot’s “Resonate” was a certified banger.

It’s not nonsensical, it’s the strict rating. Again, @PJTierney already stated that it will not change.

You could take this to legal systems but it won’t work. So it’s a lose-lose-lose situation that cannot be won.

I’m sorry, but that’s just how it is.

In regard to inconsistencies and seemingly inoffensive words being censored, I fully believe the censoring is being done by bots and not actual people.

step 1 - realise it is not going to change however ridiculous it might appear to be

step 2 - turn the in-game radio volume to zero (skill songs still work)

step 3 - listen to whatever you want in another way (Seamus Heaney reading Beowulf, NWA, Stormtroopers of Death, Rick Astley, Harrison Birtwistle’s crimes against music, whatever - the choice is yours!)

step 4 - move on

It’s how it is, but how will it end? I already didn’t buy FM7, let alone not pre order it. I stopped playing other games completely too.

Is that what they want? Our cash isn’t guaranteed and more and more other games can be modded.

I want to support FH and Xbox as a platform, but it gets tougher when we can’t hear what feel like innocent words and get our vehicles de-badged.

Yes. They have to do it. But will the cumulative cost over time prove worse? Do we retrospectively start going back amd editing movies too? I dunno… a lot of what’s said in terms of “this is the way” makes sense, but cash is still king.

(It’s crazy to think we had songs like Spitfire by Prodigy in FM2, though. Equally I can imagine if something that played today. :grimacing:)

@SpirantCrayon22 Yep. I have radio volume off now. Not the biggest biggy, but it’s nice when a game has a soundtrack you enjoy in it’s own right and like to re-visit. One plus though is that technically any song can be a skill song.

I think it’s more “they felt the need to do it”. TC2 still has SS badges on Super Sport Chevrolets, so does GT. It was a conscious decision to remove them on T-10’s (and to a lesser extent PG’s) part. Other companies didn’t follow suit. Same thing with the Iconic “Rising Sun” image or the General Lee, T-10/PG/Microsoft decided to ban or micro-manage/threaten creators if they used said imagery. Not one other game/company has followed suit.

That literally is the worst offender! Almost every line is cut short because of censorship, but mainly because every other line ends with [insert p00p emoji here]. But they obviously wanted to include a Chad Tepper song for obvious reasons. This is also ironically the same song that features the word “GOD” uncensored, despite other songs featuring that word have it censored.

Don’t drink and drive kids.

…but definitely drive at unsafe speeds, crash repeatedly on purpose, destroy crops and trees, jump over people’s homes, destroy public infrastructure, etc. etc. etc… “some of the actions in the game may not be safe and safety equipment that should be worn is not shown yada yada blort legal blort…”

…but, back on topic, they can’t just put a blurb in the disclaimer about "some words and imagery may be offensive and we’re not to blame yada yada legal yada… " instead of nonsense censorship because ? reasons ?

& receive points for your efforts! :joy:
I can still remember the first time playing a FH title & thinking how critical it would probably be not to hit anything…until you do…& you’re rewarded. I was like, wait…what?!

At least (FH1 or 2 ? maybe both) actually rewarded clean (non-collision) driving and made a point of calling it out (unlike the current call outs and rewards for destroying things). If I recall. And the FM (again earlier ones at least) even went as far as congrats on clean passes and nice corner lines etc. It was almost like they knew what driving should be  …unlike now.

Because it’s an alcoholic beverage. It wouldn’t make much sense because they have to be age compliant.
Keyword: AGE COMPLIANT. Did you get that?

Sooo… where’s the AGE COMPLIANT requirement on legal driving age ? Just saying.
