Censored Soundtrack AGAIN! (Epitaph Records - FH5 Rally Adventure)

Maybe its a bout time to change the rating of this game back to teen or even mature. Let the parents decide if they want their kids playing these games. I get it its a racing game and everyone should be allowed to play but when u have to censor life so everyone can play its very annoying to us older folks who just want to enjoy a couple hours a gaming and blow off some steam and enjoy playing a game.

Or better yet sell two versions of the game an E rated game and M rated game. Idk much about how hard it is to do that but always a possibility??

But you do get that it WAS their call to go for the Everyone rating (money) AND that it WAS also their call to choose songs (money) that would have to be censored ? (or they were simply, cluelessly, oblivious to the content of said songs chosen simply because money).

AND it is very much part of this discussion topic.

The Halo showcase still pops me. Lets casually depict war. They make odd choices, not gonna lie.

True, but I think for the showcase they avoid any actual weapon fire ? The Warthog and Master Chief don’t even have a weapon. Not even an unloaded pistol. So I guess it’s ok to allude to it for E but not actually show it. Yes, an odd choice… oh, wait… money !

But what if you don’t make it to the escape thing in time? There’s a countdown for something.

Impossible

…it is still a not fail showcase like in FH4 isn’t it ?

ā€œGrande Mocha for Master Chef ! Master Chef ! Your order is ready !ā€

I didn’t want to wait around to find out. Just a really surprising choice given how sensitive these games (which some would argue rightly) are to that kind of fare.

I cringed every time the Offspring song came up and the lyrics would suddenly cut out. Censored music is so, so annoying. Back to muting in-game music and playing my own stuff in the background. It’s the spirit of Horizon, etc.

Relating to censorship in FH5, the other day I was again frustrated and confused when a custom race description was flagged as ā€˜inappropriate.’

Know what the offensive word was?

F40.

Also F-40.

Making a race which has limited cars I could not say in the description which model Ferrari it was unless it was typed out ā€˜F 40.’ What the heck?! Why censor that??

Same reason (probably) I’m always running up against the censor bot here when I try to triple ellipse anything ending in s. Like… but with an s …

For blocked words in custom race descriptions please list those in this thread:

That system is controlled by Xbox system wide.

Again, they will not do that. If certain offensive lyrics were allowed to be used then the rating would go higher. I think what @PJTierney summed it up well and it’s not going to change anytime soon, despite the fact that past Horizons didn’t have nearly as much censorship.

Would it not make sense for this to be user controlled? A choice of fully censored, swear word censored or no censorship?

Ha no.

Imagine little Johnny playing and having uncensored songs on the radio with granny in the room.

Microsoft is a large concern with lots of different businesses so it may be smart to avoid any kind of ā€œangry parentā€ backlash/boycott calls, just in case.
Rockstar has no such worries.

I like cheese

In Belgium we can choose to end life care under certain conditions.

I have chosen unbearable physical suffering, unbearable psychological suffering and lactose intolerance as that will lead to unbearable psychological suffering.

Censoring some songs tho, definitly not on the list ya whiners

I have walked away from your comment more confused than enlightened.

How bad is it for children to hear uncensored songs though? If children listen to the radio they hear way more explicit lyrics than in any of the Forza games.

And I don’t think young children even know what those songs are about anyway. I mean, how old are the Forza players? Do 5 year olds play Forza? Or 10-12 year olds? 14 and up probably understand the lyrics but who cares? Those aren’t children who should be baby’d anymore. They’re teens.

Let me tell you a funny story: A long time ago I went to a supermarket and a small girl walked in front of me. I think she wasn’t even 12 and she was singing Mousse T’s Horny '98 out loud. Me and another woman were laughing out loud about that. The girl herself was completely oblivious

Tell that to worried parents, they’re the reason for the ESRB’s continued existence.

Ahhh, that is why could not find anything when linking Spot and Horizon on search
