Why did they censor out the word 'violence' in the song Silence?

Seriously, it doesn’t seem like that big a deal to me, violence isn’t a bad word, and I also don’t understand why they only just censored it now when the game has been out for a decent amount of time now. It isn’t that big of a deal, i don’t even like the song, im just confused as to why they did it.

You know, if you actually checked the lyrics of the songs you added before release you wouldn’t need to keep patching the game.

This. I can see why half the songs on Horizon XS would need censoring, but they should’ve been edited from the very beginning instead of six months after launch (or included in the footage sent to the ESRB).
(side note: One song on XS was completely removed)

If nothing else, it’s an effective way to get existing players to switch to Hospital Records or Timeless.

They’ve censored a few of the songs. The word “God” in the Chvrches song, “high” in one of the other Pulse songs. I thought I was going crazy for a moment there…

They censored the word “god”, that’s not even an offensive word. The censorship is beyond ridiculous now.

It isn’t offensive to YOU, but Forza is an international game and there are more religions than just Christianity…

All religions have a god, it’s not an offensive word. It’s just a bunch of snowflakes going on censor spree.

Anyone who feels offended because a song mentions “god”… I would gúess it’s not the song that has a problem.

Really? No, you’re right it isn’t the song that has a problem…

While you are correct, they do not all refer to their god as God, which is probably why the censorship took place.

But going off of prior history with Forza, it could have been a proprietary censorship as well. cough Chevy SS cough

Edit: Also, I suggest we take further discussion elsewhere, like PMs, as we are treading dangerous territory here.

“Treading dangerous territory” There’s no profanity involved and people are being reasonable, i see no reason why they would close this thread.

Oh my… God. Facepalm for sure. What is going on here… dunno …

I imagine because of legal reasons. Wasn’t a given reason the ESRB? Litigation can be a powerful thing, something me or you probably won’t ever have to worry about, but for a company? I imagine it’s more than enough reason to censor out a few words.

The nanny state is a funny thing.

Some of you complaining about how anyone could be offended at something so dumb also seem to be kind of offended at something that’s pretty dumb.

They glamorize racing on roads open to the public. Need traffic taken out cause that is dangerous.

I suspect next horizons wont be rated E.

Rated 13 cause has things that exist.

Nice reasoning again from the devs. I also want to have “LOL”, “haha”, “ironic” and “nice driving” removed from the quick chat because it’s used for bullying and it offends me. There.

It wouldnt be even first time when game remove some quick chat because peoples use that only for Bming.

IMO Forza Horizon 4, just like 2 and 3, should never have been rated E in the first place. These games do promote speeding, street racing, crashing into stuff and dangerous stunts.
