I call this the two-face behavior system. A graphical/lighting/ paint behaviour issue that has persisted since the launch of FM 2023.
The problem involves car paints and reflection where parts of a car most expsoed to light turns matte whereas those that are shadowed or underexposed are reflective.
When driving a vehicle on tack, the side that is the most exposed is matte with zero reflections and interactions with the global source of light while the other side is either under-reflective or over reflective.
Normally, when sunlight hits a car paint, that are will pelted t the most light. With the exception of matte paint, most cars have standard gloss or metallic paints.
This fundamental lighting/refection problem affects all cars and only happens in this FORZA title.
Take the example of the Lamborghini Revuelto’s Arancio Borealis - high gloss, high saturation bright orange paint that is very vibrant and unmistakable in real life
Now look at its paint in FORZA Motorsport 2023. This issue affects every single vehicle and is a fundamental problem.
Notice how atrocious the lighting and reflections of the paint is?
Is it a toy car or is it a real model? Is the paint matte or gloss? Is the color saturated or desaturated? Why are some parts gloss reflective while others are matte and desaturated when the car’s actual paint is uniformly vibrant, gloss and refiective.
Take any car, drive it on the track or go into photo mode and you’ll see this rendering/lighting/reflection problem.
Personally tired at this point as I’ve been explaining this problem since launch.
Requesting to fix the car paint lighting and reflection behavior in FM 2023.
