I, way too often find myself upgrading/painting and then seeing my car on the track, I notice it looks NOTHING like expected. just me?
Eventually just you. You would have to provide us with more detailed information if you want people to get behind you.
What about some screenshots? One from the paint screen and then one in a situation where you think it does not look like it should.
Cheers
Nope. I’m with the OP, the lighting is wonky and so is the paint. One example out of a few problems: Metal flake is botched, it doesn’t have the colour penetration unlike Forza 6. To make a decent normal metallic colour, I have to use the two tone pearl and apply a translucent decal (normally 62% transparency) to reduce the exaggerated contrast of the 2T pearl. Works good but the mirrors would be perpetually mismatched.
Agreed! The lighting is VERY uneven in the paint shop. Dark on one side and light on the other. The lack of actual metal flake in the metal flake paint is a huge mistake. Home space is dark and the view of the car is like looking through a peep hole in a door.
Among many other things in this iteration of Forza, the paint booth has suffered from some NOT needed “update” or “retooling”. Things have looked and work quite well in all the other previous games. I don’t understand the need to fix things that weren’t broken to start with. Like MOST of this game.
Oh, wait…we have drivers suits now. That’s fine. I’ll take a drivers suit over actual metal flake anyway! (Sarcasm, Incase it wasn’t obvious)
I would have to agree that in the editor the light seems to move with the car so right and left is day and night. Out on the track, it varies depending on which track you choose with some of the brighter tracks the color can wash out a fair bit. I could live with it all if they gave me an SVG style editor instead of this jigsaw puzzle setup.
Glad I’m not the only one hugely let down by metal flake effect being borked.
In FM6 metal flake looked amazing, and some of my finer liveries were set off by the effect. Now I import them and they look flat; completely ruined. I have to use two-tone polished just to get an effect that looks even remotely right.
Nope, don’t have that problem here, running dual XBone Xs w/ dual 84" Curved Samsung 4Ks, w/ 11.1 Atmos surround. May want to upgrade your system.
J/K
Brought up the lighting issue a while back and someone chimed in with their system specs and said that it was probably my setup as to why the lighting in the livery editor was off. I think they need to nix the dynamic lighting in the editor so that we can see what we’re doing.
Wow. Glad I’m not the only one…
I’d prefer to have a light shining on the car so I can actually see the effects of the flake (or other effects)… but, alas.
Agreed! FM7 paint lighting is so poor/uneven, it’s much easier to paint in FH3 or FM6, then import the livery into FM7.
