Iv’e been doing hot lap on Nurburgring in the nissan gtr r32 trying to match this lap time and the performance and grip are less than in real life. Watch this video, the car is stock and the track is damp. - YouTube. I can’t even get close to this lap time even with dot sport tires on the car I’m still a minute off the time and I know the track very well. I would be nice if little things like this could be fixed in a patch. Love the game and can believe some people can get those lap times using a controller not a wheel. Also would be using sim steering it would also turn off assisted turn in. It’s less noticeable with a wheel but really noticeable with a controller.
The top Forza players seem to be better than some real racing drivers. I don’t mean comparing a player in Forza versus a driver in life, but rather a player in Forza versus a pro driver in Forza. I’m often ten seconds off the pace of the top leaderboard times, but I’m generally faster than Conor Daly in FM5, and he runs TCS in FM5.
For everyone saying the GT-R’s were dumbed down did you guys miss this post? The GT-R’s haven’t been dumbed down because they would be to dominant or because of money or dumbed down period it’s because Forza can’t simulate it’s systems which make it so fast same with any other car in the game which uses a similar system.
Your absolutely correct and their are plenty of cars in the game that loose out because the game can’t simulate the dynamic suspensions of the real life car. You don’t really think the McLaren MP4-12C and the Ferrari 458 handle as poorly stock in the real world as they do in FM5 do you? Heck no!
OP, comparing game lap times to real life ones, is not a realistic way to go about it IMHO. Why?
IRL, there are far too many variables like the type of tires you got on, the driver’s emotional and mental state at the time, fear and danger factor, track temperature and weather conditions etc. Not to mention how a lot of these cars have onboard computers that are constantly adjusting performance variables.
It’s quite difficult to simulate all of that in a game. However, frankly speaking, as far as track accuracy and physics are concerned, Forza is the best you’re going to get on a console. In fact, some PC sim devs are now worried at the pace Forza is making progress with every release.
If you’re using a wheel, it must be configured properly. If you’re on a controller, stick to normal steering. SIM only helps if you have a gaming wheel. On a controller, no matter what steering type you use, you will have hidden assists.
The best way to go about it, is to somehow get to The Ring, rent a stock GTR and get in your lap time. THEN, do one in the game with the same stock model. Even then, there are going to be variations. Real life has too many variables you see.
You sure are lucky to own FM5 mate! Are you enjoying the game? I’m still saving up to get an X1!
“Dumbed down” please, the GTR is not the fastest thing on the planet. It’s not dumbed down its just like the other cars in this game. If anything the R 35 is overpowered on le mans since it can do 290 mph on that straight. No gtr has even been above 240 in the real world. Don’t tell me you’re one of those guys that thinks the gtr is the end all be all to the automotive world…
Big whoop. One car and only 250mph, that’s it? That plastic car would fall to pieces at 290. It’s not capable of going that fast. On the other hand cars like the Ford GT have done 283mph in one mile stretch of road.
No one said anything about a GTR going 290mph. You said “No gtr has even been above 240 in the real world.” Don’t try and compare it to other cars when its irrelevant to your original statement just because I proved you wrong
You should scroll up and read first. Someone DID say the gtr goes 290mph in Forza (le mans straight) because it’s op. No GTR can do 290 in the real world 1. Because those cheap plastic body panels would break off at that speed. 2. The GTR has aerodynamics like a brick at speeds over 200 and needs TONS of extra hp in order to compensate for its aerodynamic shortcomings. Which is why there are none (sorry I mean 1, maybe 2) that can varely do over 240mph, whereas other cars like the Corvette, Viper, Supra, Ford GT can handle high speeds easy because they are not bricks at high speeds. You found one car that barely exceeded the 240mph mark, which by today’s standards is not that fast in the mile compared to other cars which have less hp.
Your changing your argument again. Now its a “not GTR can go faster then 290mph.” And again your trying to compare it to other cars. The point was I proved you wrong about a GTR going over 240mph and I searched for 30secs and found one and the GTR is a very heavy car. If I looked harder I would find more fast GTR’s, Like these two:
The point was you were wrong and are obviously hurt and have to keep changing your argument and using other cars as a comparison to try validate your new argument.
Either way the whole point of this thread was about Performance and grip and I already stated one of the reasons the times might not match is due to the fact Forza 5 does not simulate the dynamic computer systems controlling the cars. I’m not here to argue and could really care less if you give me any more statistics about how fast other cars are.
I’m not changing anything. I was one of the first to comment on this and if you would scroll up like I told you before you would see that I said the GTR can do 290mph on the le mans straight but it CANT match anywhere close to that irl because it cant even do above 240mph which is why it’s op which is what I said way before you even thought to start commenting on this thread. Go look again. Btw, the gtr you showed me for top speed was the world’s fastest at 249mph, one outlier on the far end of the spectrum when there haven’t even been many to come close to that, gtr fanboy I presume. lol
No I’m not a GTR fan boy actually so don’t presume. I actually own a Supra. I was simply showing you that you were wrong. And the whole point was a GTR can make it 240mph. It matters not that it happens to be the world’s fastest GTR. The point I made and am still making was that your statement “No gtr has even been above 240 in the real world” was incorrect. Nothing in Forza is 100% accurate anyway
One gtr made it above 240 and that is the fastest gtr in the world for the mile, Fact.
The GTR really struggles to get above 220mph in the mile due to its heavy weight and bad aerodynamics at that speed unless they have well over 1500awhp, Fact.
You’re still missing the point. You said NO GT-R has ever been above 240mph in the real world when in fact one has so that one car ends the argument of no GT-R has even been about 240 mph in the real world simple as that. Killer is not trying to refute any of your other points made just that a GT-R has been faster than 240 mph in the real world
