B Class Mini - FWD Grip build?

Does anyone have a decent B Class mini FWD grip build (7.7+) without the super-short gearing?

You must have insider information about an autocross slalom DLC, because I can’t imagine any other setting where a B class Mini would require handling on par with an S1 Donkervoort.

The short gearing is probably necessary to keep the car moving. I would imagine with ridiculous handling like that it might need to be push-started on a stock transmission. A 5% grade approaching on the road ahead? Better call a cab.

HAHAHA I mean nothing bad by laughing at this comment I loved it, thank you for the laugh.

have a good-n

lol. Need the grip if you don’t use the walls.

Well played. But my wallriding propensity and implied lack of skill notwithstanding, I still don’t see the benefit of attempting to match an 80hp 1960s pocket-buggy with the upper echelons of extreme track toys. I wish you nothing but luck on your journey to leaderboard domination, though.

I like grip for the mini on the twisty town circuits. You don’t need much grunt if you can keep up momentum. Grip also feels better with the TX wheel. A lot of the conventional builds I’ve tried just don’t want to turn in. Might be a different story on a thumbstick. Also … any game where I can crack a top 10 doesn’t really have leaderboards.

Are you talking builds or tunes?

Are you sure the issue is within the build?

Build one yourself and try ARBs 1/40 and Rebound/Bump of 13/1s and tweak from there.

Front aero greater than rear.

High accel diff.

Reduce caster rather than increase it.

In B class though you are probably dealing with too much power.

This sounds like a job for Kitty! Yay! Let me try and I’ll be back.

The Mini in B class seems to be the ultimate LB car in roadracing/circuits. The HLR guys dominating the lb’s by cpl of seconds. Cant built a competetive setup

Is that with Lime driving it lol

Is there any interest either via this thread or via PM that we pick a track and each of us builds and tunes the mini and we try each others cars?

Even just naming a track and we can do our own thing and if one of us cracks it we can share our secrets lol

Mick - is there a specific track you are running?

Sisteron Perimeter Sprint was the last one I was having a go at.

Ok. Shared in game and posted in my open source thread.

Thanks Kitty. Will give it a run tonight.

Here is my mini #8 for now on Sisteron Perimeter Sprint

My apologies for lots of engine parts, there may be a simpler combo that maxes the pi but this was the first combo I found that did.

Build

Intake - race
Carb - street
Ignition - sport
Exhaust - race
Cams - street
Valves - race
Block - street
Pistons - race

Springs, ARBs and weight reduction all race

Transmission - sport
Driveline - sport
Diff - race

Tyre compound - race
Width 185 front and rear

Rims - RX43, max size

Full adjustable aero

Single Turbo swap

Tune

Tyres 30/30psi
Final drive 3.47
Camber -3.0/-2.8
Toe 0.2/0.1
Caster 1.5
ARBs 4/40
Springs 270/280
Height 4.3/4.3
Rebound 11.2/11
Bump 1.5/1.7

Aero 100/75

Diff 90/0

I am sure there is more time on the track, more time in the build and a little more time in the tune but was reasonably close to the HLR minis for a quick attempt.

Here is my latest build and tune which for now is #1 at Sisteron Perimeter Sprint with a 2.21.112

Transmission - street
Diff - race

Tyre compound - race
Width 185 front and rear

Rims - RX43, max size

Full adjustable aero

Single Turbo swap

Tune (I am not happy with the off gas turning and getting on gas at exit)

Tyres 30/30psi
Camber -3.0/-2.8
Toe 0.2/0.1
Caster 1.7
ARBs 4/40
Springs 271/281
Height 4.3/4.3

Thanks for the input guys. I’d been trying to stay out of tuning in FH2 because the lack of test drive mode puts me off, but I ended up having to dive in anyway.

Kitty, I had a try at your mini and while it was good, it wasn’t much suited to the twisty Sisteron circuit. It didn’t like to turn in sharply and had a lot of lift-off understeer. Although the gears were well spaced, it was quick to fall off boost in 2nd when exiting a tight corner. It would probably run quite well on a more flowing circuit,

I ended up building a car with the twin screw supercharger and the sport box which I have shared for what it’s worth. It’s still a bit of a tank, but it is good through the power band and decently sticky. There’s a lot more time in the Mini then has been found by me. I was routinely losing a second off the line because of wheelspin through first and second gears.

SNE I might have a go at your build tomorrow as I still didn’t feel mine wanted to track out of a bend all that well and didn’t like quick changes of direction as much as I would like.

PS nice work on the #3. Pipped you by a second though.

Mick,
Sorry it didn’t work out for you. Nothing tried, nothing gained. I blame Tuneses, my test driving cat,

This has got my attention, know most of the HLR guys, talented drivers and tuners will be having a go maybe tonight.

lol. Shortest #1 ever. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice job if you if you built your own Mini and grabbed top spot, no need for me to try it, I’m much happier trying to find a car not up there and seeing what I can do with it.
